Adoption fees: $450 for dogs 12 months/younger, $400 for dogs 1-2 Yrs, $350 for dogs 3-5yrs, and $300 for 6yrs and older Roxie is a very well rounded 65 lbs dog. She came from a homeless encampment and had her first litter at age 10 months. She is only around a year old currently. Since Roxie has never been left alone she does get a little nervous, but is something with work and love she will overcome. She is learning super fast with her basic commands. She loves kids and is supper gentile. She is great at only chewing on dog toys and really really loves tennis balls! She is cat friendly and dog friendly. I believe she will do best in a home with another dog. She loves going on walks and is super happy to meet new dogs and people. She is not much of a barker. She has the best head tilts ever! And has so much love to give. Her favorite spot is cuddling right next to you on the couch. Since she just had a litter and stopped feeding, she will need to be dry for 5 more weeks until spay. She will need to go to a home for a foster to adopt. We are looking for a home with a confident resident dog that can help Roxie building confidence. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please review our adoption process and then fill out an online adoption form at https://www.calpaws.org/adopting. Experience with obedience training is definitely preferred. We are a small rescue and do not have the resources to respond to inquiries. If a dog is our website, it is still available. Sloane is happiest when she is free to lounge in the sun, on the dog bed, the couch (she will gladly listen to you if couch is a no no in your home) and sleeping next to my youngest son. She wants to be the leader and she is the absolute BEST guard dog. She loves her people and her pack. She is currently living in a home with three children (7yrs, 11yrs and 13yrs old). I think she would be happy in a family home or happy in a single or two person home. She wouldn’t mind as long as she gets a lot of love. She is not needy but she appreciates attention. She lives along side 3 female dogs, 4 cats (ignores them) a Guinea pig, bearded dragon and two birds. She does so gracefully. She is a very mellow girl but would love a home where she can still get out and enjoy life. I’m guessing there are still many firsts for this sweet mama. While she does live nicely with my pack, she is an alpha female, even with very submissive dogs. She needs a slow introduction and a strong and confident handler to be able to have a smooth interaction. She could live with another dog or two but I do think she would thrive as the only dog in the home. I have loved the slow pace of this mama, she is a lovely lady. Potty trained Crate trained Non destructive Quiet unless guarding Does not jump Walks nicely on leash Loves car rides Good listener Cat Friendly Kid Friendly Cute curly tail full of wags To find out about fostering or adopting please send an email to cpk9rescue@gmail.com or go online to CalPaws.org XL large breed dogs (90 lbs. plus): $500 Puppies and dogs up to 1 year old: $450 Dogs over 1 and under 6 years old: $400 show less

Hi there! We are snicker and doodle! These 2 loves are now available for adoption! They really do well in all environments. They love kids, dogs, and playing chase! They were born October 29th. We were told they are king shepherd mixed. So these gals will be large most likely. We can not stress enough, learn your breeds. Not every dog breed is meant to be in every home. Do your research. A dog breed should reflect your home and lifestyle. Please research this breed before filling out an application. This is not a beginners dog. He is a super smart, curious, funny, energetic puppy who needs regular exercise and dog pals to play with. Bandit was trained to stay away from chickens in one day. He is crate trained, potty trained, food motivated and has a lot to say! In the evening he loves to watch tv lying next to his foster mom before falling asleep. Because he’s a bit mouthy, he would do best in a home with older kids. He will make someone a sensational pet and loyal member of the family. Meet Basil! Basil came to us from the stockton shelter. She was found with her other three siblings dumped like trash on the streets of Stockton. She has been through a lot of changes in her short little life, but is still as sweet as can be. She is a very mild natured pup, loves playing with his foster familys dogs. Shee is also catching on quickly with the potty training! Adoption fees: Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Meet Gouda! She was one of 2 pups that were hit by a car in the San Jose area and taken to the shelter before becoming CalPaws dogs. (Her sister is Cheddar) Gouda is healing her broken ribs but it hasn't slowed her down one bit. She is a German Shepherd through and through. She loves to learn, loves to play and wants to be at your feet every minute of the day! She will sneak in between your legs to make sure she gets to go with you into the next room where she will explore and play for as long as you allow her. She already likes to check-in with her person which will make recall training a breeze! She knows to go poop outside and is super close on all potty outside, she loves a good schedule! Gouda would make a great hiking partner, walking buddy or travel guide. I hope you are not shy, Gouda will draw all of the attention with her charismatic nature and her love of pets. show less

Raja is a two-year-old Rottweiler that was found as a stray. Her favorite thing to do is be inside with her people and be pet! She is a Velcro dog. She loves to be on the couch and likes to play with stuffed toys. She loves treats and is very gentle when taking them. She knows sit, down, and leave it. She’s getting better at stay. Raja is learning to relax outside. She doesn’t like to be outside alone, especially at night, but is improving with the help of her doggie foster brother. She is friendly with strangers, loves kids, and is good with other dogs, but is not cat friendly. She’s also learning not to pull on leash. We currently use a prong collar and that works well. She is calm and clean in the house. She does well in the car and is crate trained. Sometimes she whines and scratches in the crate for the first few minutes, but settles down quickly. Her ideal home would have another dog to play with, a backyard with a 6’ fence, and kids. She loves to go for daily walks. Raja is truly a sweetheart and a very good girl. show less

Meet Cinnamon! Her and her sister, Sugar, came to us after being found and taken to the Contra Costa Animal Shelter. Cinnamon is the sweetest 5 month old puppy who will instantly steal your heart. She loves affection and wants to be wherever her people are. Her favorite place is snuggled up on the couch next to her foster family. She is doing amazing with crate and leash training and has had zero accidents in the house. She is still a little nervous about new things so she would do best with a family with an active lifestyle where they can show her the world is not such a scary place. She loves her fur foster brother and loves to follow his lead so she would make an amazing second dog. While she is curious about things she is an excellent listener, doesn’t really try to get into things she shouldn’t, and is very mellow for not only a puppy but for any dog! show less
