Mio and his sister Gadget were 6 months when we rescued them from the local shelter. From timid and scared at the shelter, Mio quickly transformed into a tail-wagging ball of energy, melting to the human touch and willing to do anything for his human. Just a week later, Mio is your typical happy puppy (with an extra dollop of love) - he adores going on walks to the park, running around the backyard, eating - lots, sleeping, chewing stuff (toys or bones are his foster mom’s favorites), following his selected human around like a shadow. Mio is extremely food-motivated and a determined pleaser, he is progressing well in his house training but will continue to need guidance and supervision. Mio is the perfect age for a puppy manners class, he would greatly benefit from learning the right ways to get treats and make his human happy. Mio is fostered in the house with an active older dog, who Mio adores and tries to copy. Besides playing “no touch tag” with his foster bro, Mio also beats him at dog puzzles. Mio is a very smart pup! He loves to show it off and to be stimulated and challenged. When you meet him though, first thing you notice are the sweet floppy ears, cutest forehead wrinkles, constantly wagging tail and his lovable puppy clumsiness. Mio is about 30 lbs now and will keep growing to maybe 45-50 lbs. He does not seem to care for baths, but might enjoy them more with the right kind of motivation. Mio is crate trained, happily sleeps there at night and naps during the day. Mio is sharing his foster home with 2 cats, he is curious towards them but not aggressive. Mio will do best in a home with human presence during the day. He loves people and learning new things. He has so much more to learn and is oh-so-eager! Adoption fees: Puppies: 0-1yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. The spay or neuter of these puppies will happen at 4-5 months of age. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering
