Pop is approximately a year old Cattle dog/ Doberman mix. Pop is a complete love and a favorite boy. He is good with other dogs and shown very little interest in cats. He is good with people but does take a little bit of time to warm up to new people, but once he knows you he is a loyal boy. Pop is smart, fun loving boy and he like to play games, He is gentle, sweet, e would make a wonderful addition to a family wanting to add a new family member. Slate is a stunningly beautiful boy. His creme and strawberry blonde coat is soft like a bunny! Also like a bunny, this boy loves to jump straight into your lap for some kisses. Slate is super playful and funny. The jokester of the litter, he is constantly ready to play and run amuck. Slate is approximately 12 weeks old, born beginning of December, and is ready to join his forever family! Slate is hard of hearing and would benefit from ahome with experience and lots of patience and kindness. Slate is very adventurous. This boy wants to see the world and sniff every nook and cranny! Slate is just starting potty training and crate training but is very eager to please and smart so this process will be a breeze for this boy! show less

This boy is one of our favorites. He makes friends everywhere he goes. With his loving, friendly, neutral disposition- it's no surprise. Golden Bear was surrendered to us after being hit by a vehicle and experience a break to his front leg. He did his time in a cast and is now all healed up and ready for adventures! He is a total Velcro dog… wants to be only where you are. off the hook affectionate.. Thinks he is a lapdog, and once he realizes he’s not gonna fit rolls over for endless belly rubs Golden Bear's foster mom describes him as super smart. He knows come, sit, and is working on the other basics . He is also crate trained and housebroken, never one accident in the house. He is a perfect gentleman in the car, kid friendly, and dog friendly. Also, did you notice he is super handsome?Everyone that has met him anywhere comments on how beautiful he is. His foster mom says it’s his eyes. This good boy is ready for the bestest home! Some photos may still depict him in a cast. Golden Bear's cast his off and his mobility is excellent! He has a final check up in San Ramon on March 4th, 2025 and is accepting applications to adopt now. show less

Jolene is new to our rescue, and we adore her. She is a fun-loving and affectionate Australian Cattle Dog who brightens every room she enters. She’s full of energy, always ready to play, but also loves curling up for some cozy snuggles. She sleeps well in her crate, loves to hang with her people, learning to live with the resident kitty, and is dog friendly. Her friendly personality and loving nature make her a joy to be around, and she’ll happily follow you wherever you go. Josie is a lovable Australian Cattle Dog with a playful spirit and a heart full of affection - she is new to our program. What we do know is that she is lovely, incredibly sweet and adores cuddles just as much as playtime. She gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs, making her the perfect companion for a loving home (she's also learning to live with the resident kitty). With her loyal and gentle nature, Josie will quickly become your best friend and constant shadow. She sleeps well in her crate, she also loves taking naps on her foster dad. show less

Ember is a gorgeous Belgian Malinois/ Dutch Shepherd Mix. This fun and affectionate girl was rescued from the Martinez animal shelter where she was found hanging out politely with a small doggie play group. We don't know much about how this girl started out in life, but we love her for her friendly, eager to please temperment! Upon being rescued from the shelter, she hoped in the back of the car and gently made her way to the front to give her rescuer some gentle "thank you" face kisses. She rode perfectly in the car the whole way home to freedom. Ember loves people and affection, often leaning into them for pets. She also enjoys a good game of fetch. She is dog friendly with all dogs she's met, people friendly and kid friendly! She is learning basic obedience in her foster home including sit, stairs, and walking politely on leash. This pretty girl's perfect home would be living the good life with her people and other doggie friends. She's been an escape artist in her crate, so we think she would thrive in an active home that wants her to be a part of it! show less

Freddie is a goofy boy. A big puppy in a dog body. He loves going on car drive. He is gentle, built like a bull in a china shop. He loves his toys and a game of tug of war. He loves long brisk walks and would make a great hiking buddy. Fred is very treat / food driven. He knows sit, down and stay, for a treat. He will also run an obstacle course at the local park, for a treat. He is working on leash manners and walks well on a prong collar. He is curious about cats and chases them, so maybe no kitties for our goofy guy. He is a fabulous dog to have out and about enjoying the sites. Fred is large, about 86 pounds and very much a puppy. We recommend being mindful having him around small children, although he loves the kids and they love him. His favorite thing is chew toys and he says they will be a necessity in his new home! He is good in the crate if you put his food in it. He can be left out of the crate on his own accord and he does not get into things. He is great with both resident dogs. He can be a bit bratty, but not mean, just playful. , Fred will make a wonderful addition to your home! show less

Mama Paisley is a treasure! She has been the most loving and dedicated mama to 9 puppies (the tree themed litter). She's young and playful and really coming out of her shell. We are waiting for her DNA results but she is a beautiful, tall / leggy lean girl with a gorgeous coat that looks like feathers and soulful chocolate eyes - likely german shepherd and some anatolian / great pyrenees. When we picked her up from the shelter the poor girl was scared and still nursing her puppies despite them having a full set of teeth. She was drained and starving - for nutrients and affection. We got her home, weaned the pups and she was so grateful - she watched closely over us but was totally fine and appreciatiive that we took over taking care of the babies. She could finally get some much needed rest. She is friendly with everyone she meets and greets them with a wagging tail eager to say hello. She's getting several high quality meals, she was groomed - probably a first bath that she's ever had. She didn't know that the warm soft dog bed and the toys were for her - she is in heaven. She looks at us with such appreciation and gratitude, she plops in her newly discovered bed and piles up her toys and will roll on her back and just enjoy herself like it's the Four Seasons hotel. Paisley can also be a goof ball - she's young and wants to play. She'll get the zoomies and chase her tail - but most of all she's affectionate and will come nudge your hand even if you are busy to ask for some love and ear scritches. She has a slight limp/ankle or shoulder looks like it may have an old injury so we'll get her assessed and spayed shortly. Stay tuned as we learn more and introduce her to life in a household with a pack. show less

Missy is an absolute love and an old soul. Even though she is a larger breed dog she is a very chill puppy and would prefer being with her people and cuddling. She is crate trained and we are working on house trained as well as leash training as she is just old enough to be out and about. Missy has been around many different dogs of all ages and sizes and she is wonderful with everyone she meets. Missy does well in the car and lays down quietly and she is up for any adventure. She is wonderful with kids and would make a lovely addition to a loving family. show less

Molly is a 10-month-old, incredibly sweet and playful pup who's ready to find her forever home. She has been nothing short of amazing with everyone she meets—whether human or dog. At home, she’s respectful of senior dogs and has a blast playing with her younger furry friends, especially Freddy. Her playful nature is infectious! Molly loves toys—balls, squeaky squeakers, you name it. Her playful antics include pouncing, bounding, and zooming around with energy that’s as delightful as it is entertaining. If she’s not already worn out, she’ll make her own fun, so be ready for lots of excitement! Molly is an active dog who loves her walks and is absolutely spectacular on leash. She is also showing impressive progress with her manners, especially considering her puppy-like behavior. While she may try a bit of countersurfing, she’s a quick learner and improving every day! One thing Molly absolutely adores is water. With her agility and love for splashing around, she could be an outstanding dock diving dog in the right home. At bedtime, Molly sleeps peacefully in her crate but is also happy to snuggle up and nap with you. She is quiet, loves belly rubs, and will be your loyal companion for all the fun and relaxation you can handle. Mazzie is a lovely German Shepherd (likely Malinois) mix. Her foster mom describes her as a sensitive, affectionate, and curious dog who loves being close to her people—she’s very attached at the hip. She can be a bit timid when meeting new dogs (tucking her tail at first) but warms up quickly, engaging in exaggerated play bows, muzzle nudges, and friendly wrestling. She adores food and being outside. Mazzie is housebroken, zig zags a little on leash but does not pull. She is pretty nuetral with dogs, horses, and people she meets out and about, sometimes giving 1 bark but easily redirected and stopped. She was excellent walking by a mother and her young children. Mazzie makes steady leaps and bounds in her foster home. She was at first unsure about car rides, but is much better about loading up and going for an adventure! Mazzie is a good girl with an easy temperament that just wants to do well. She would thrive in a home environment that will show her love and continue her confidence building while exploring how fun the world around her is. show less

He’s likely to grow up to be a large dog, so a potential adopter should be prepared for a big boy. Meet Bear! Bear is the most independent of the three sisters. Bear is down to join the fun and roughhouse and explore with the group but is most often found doing her own thing, she comes off as fairly active at first but is the most content to just sit with a chew toy in a corner while everyone else is on the go. She prefers to be indoor and is already getting the concept of potty training as she will whine and circle when she has to go so it’s easy to get her outside before she has an accident. Bear is very sweet and loves a good cuddle but is totally fine being left to her own devices with a chew toy or a puzzle. Bear also loves to just sit and watch the action. She would do well with anybody from a homebody to a weekend warrior as long as her mind gets stimulated and she has some love she’s a happy girl. Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Say "hi" to Cheddar. This sweet girl was hit by a car in the San Jose area and a good samaritan took her to the vet to get help. With a broken leg, the shelter was no place for her to recover so she became a CalPaws dog! In the end the break was too severe to heal so CHeddar is now our newest tripod! While she is still healing, she is so much happier! She is so incredibly sweet and cloves to cuddle so she welcomes the down time on the couch. She has a relaxed demeanor and is quite wise for her puppy age. She likes when she can see her person and prefers company, furry and human. She would do great with another fur sibling but still needs to take it easy while she finishes healing. show less

Tenaya is incredibly sweet and very mellow. Her favorite thing is to snuggle up beside you and get pets and praise for doing something right. If you're not available, snuggling her plushy lamb chop is a close second. She eats her meals slowly, but is always up for a yummy treat. Tenaya is just starting out in learning about the world, and needs her trusted human(s) to help her get more experience with going for walks and meeting new friends. She is a fast learner and is gaining confidence rapidly! She is dog friendly, very sweet with children and would appreciate kids that aren't overly rambunctious. She is also learning to get along with the resident kitty! She is crate trained and perfecting potty training. She will make a fantastic, loving addition to most households. show less
