Meet Mavis! Mama Mavis came to us 2 days after giving birth in the shelter.  A shelter is not a place for a nursing Mama.  Mavis was a wonderful Mama to her littles, and they have all flown the coop. Now it is Mavis's time to find her forever home! Mavis was fearful of many new things, so as a rescue we decided to send her to board and train.  During her time in board and train she was expose to many different elements, and also basic training.  She has matered the program!  She is the sweetest most cuddliest Mal there ever was.  She absolutly loves her person.  She will make a wonderful companion.  She is dog friendly and we believe she is cat workable as she has no prey drive.  Mavis will make a wonderful running or hiking budy.  Mavis can have the Mal energy, but also is fine to chill.   ps She loves to lay right next to you on the couch! Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering show less

Meet Halo! Halo is a female Siberian Husky approximately 3-4 years old weighing about 45 lbs. This sweet girl was named Halo by my 6 yo daughter because she says she is our “Christmas Angel”, and that is exactly what Halo is. The sweetest most mild mannered delicate little lady you’ll ever meet. Halo would do wonderfully in a home with children of any age. She really enjoys watching over her foster kids while they play. She has been around kids of all ages from toddlers & elementary aged kids to teens. She is excellent with all of them!  Halo was brought into my home with her 3 beautiful puppies Jingle, Noelle and Scout, and being a good mama, she was protective of her babies.  After her puppies were relocated to another foster, she relaxed some around my other pups but remains vigilant and doesn’t want to interact with them. We don’t know how her behavior would change if brought into a new home with another friendly dog(s) and may be fine.  We know she would thrive as a single pup in afamily too.   She shows no food aggression and has paid no attention to our outdoor cats. Halo would be happiest indoors hanging out with her family all day. Getting her outside can be a task at times but she is very treat motivated and will usually follow willingly with treat in hand. Halo is a husky after all and her typical husky stubbornness shines in this regard! Halo is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night willingly. Although she’d prefer your bed or couch! She is incredibly calm and easy going. She frightens easily at sudden movements or noises. Our home is very loud and d our children are rambunctious and she does great. Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter. Kevin was very timid when he first came to us. He is mostly black with some white markings on his chest and very distinguished brindle colored paws. He has more of a lab build than his siblings. He has beautiful brown eyes that speak volumes. He has came out of his shell more and more each day he has been with us and loves to cuddle. He gets along great with his siblings and he's even started to learn to dig. He is a lover and enjoys being held. He is puppy pad trained and has started potty training outside with great success. He gets along with other dogs and warms up to people with a little time and slower movements. He has met older children and gotten along with them great. He has not met cats but is still young so I think with proper introduction he could get along with them just fine. Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Meet Almond! Almond is a sweet girl and came to us a a mama of three puppies. She was a really good mama. Almond is good with people and is good with other dogs with a slow introduction. Almond loves spending time with the family as her previous life was as an outdoor only dog. She absolutely loves car rides and enjoying the fresh air. Almond is housetrained and has also worked with a trainer. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering Almond has lived the majority of her life outside but she is adjusting to be an indoor dog Fabulously. She is potty trained, she will whine at the door if she needs to go out. She will also sleep in a crate. She does not throw tantrums if she’s crated and doesn’t want to be although she might whine a little so I think it’s fair to say she’s crate trained. I have also left alone in part of the house while I’m gone and she hasn’t destroyed anything. I’ve also left her alone in my car and she usually curls up to sleep. She seems pretty good on a leash though she doesn’t know how to heel she doesn’t pull, she knows to sit but that’s about it but she’s catching on to more commands. The biggest thing we are working on is thresholds and waiting before going through them. Almond likes to snuggle but is happy to sleep in her own bed. She also loves to play and sort of plays fetch, she has to carry the toy around proudly before she brings it back and sometimes forgets to bring it back, if you’re not in the mood she will settle pretty quickly especially if she has a chew toy to distract her. Her main joy is being pet, she is such a lover and smiles when she gets attention.   show less
