Mama Molly is a complete love! When she arrived at our home with her 6 day old puppies from the Salinas shelter, she was scared and very underweight, but she immediately buried her head in our laps and rolled over for belly rubs. She’s been the most amazing mom to her pups and her pups have taught her the fun of toys and playtime. She is a perfect medium-sized GSD at 54 pounds. She picked up basic commands quickly, enjoys a little agility training and would likely excel at more. She’s pretty chill inside but loves being active outdoors—morning hikes in the hills, runs with my cross-country teens and evening walks, stopping to quietly greet all of the neighbors she’s met over the past 8 weeks. She doesn’t jump on the indoor furniture but she’d be up for a couch snuggle if that’s cool in your house. She follows me everywhere while at home but does fine being left at home alone inside or out back. With a proper introduction, she has done well meeting other dogs. She quickly learned to stay out of the way of the neighbor’s cat. She’s gentle with kids of all ages and even stole the heart of my 87 year old dad. Amy is the character of the 3 and has the ears to make you smile! She was fastest learning how to use the doggie door and seems to figure everything out at lightening speed. Yate became a statistic when he was hit by a car on the 4th of July. The local vet called us and asked us to help save a life. Yate's owners being a young couple unable to pay for the necessary surgery, the only other option was to put him to sleep... of course we couldn't say no! He came to us after surgery for a broken femur where they placed a plate in his leg. SO... Yate has a plate and NO LONGER needs to wait in his crate! He is ready for a date! He has been recovering with a medical foster and is doing well, he is starting to look for his forever home. His forever home should be active and experienced as Yate has room to learn more manners and needs to be socialized as is true for many pups born during COVID. He’s the last to bark or react, he is more submissive than the rest of the pack. He is more cautious and likes to hang back and observe. He’s a very smart boy and learning to sit. Getting very good with potty training, only a couple pee accidents in house. He’s a good sleeper - sleeps through night. Loves loves his treats. This beauty came to us as a stray and is approximately 4 months old weighing 29 lbs. Coco is such a very well-behaved pup, is housetrained, spayed and knows how to sit! She loves to be close to her people but prefers to get her ear rubs and hugs on her own terms and loves being around other dogs, sometimes joining in their play and sometimes observing from a distance. When barking erupts, she runs to her people for reassurance and then happily trots back to the pack. She quietly crates when her people are gone, but does not like the crate at night, instead preferring to sleep on a dog bed near her other dog foster brother and sisters. She loves water and like many GSDs, drinks water with her front feet in the water bowl, so a good mop will be essential! Coco is on the submissive side and is quite a chill little girl who will steal your heart with her sweetness! meet Dozer! Dozer is a well rounded 3 month old pup. He is a German Shepherd mix. He is very outgoing and loves to meet new people and animals. He gets along great with the other resident dogs in the home. We are unsure about cats, but given his age we believe it is workable. Dozer is doing awesome on his potty training and has not had an accident and many days. He sleeps well in his crate overnight. He is a very cuddly people orientated pup, and will lay at your feet while his humans are relaxing. He does well with children and loves to play with toys! Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. The spay or neuter of these puppies will happen at 4-5 months of age. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match.
