Romeo is about 2 years old. He came to us via the Los Banos animal shelter. He currently lives with a foster family conisting of little dogs (Poms & Chihuahuas), big dogs (Boxers & cattle dogs) and cats and kittens too. Romeo gets excited around the cats but never harms them. He seems curious, but over time he is getting used to them, and less excited about them. Romeo is a very lovable outgoing dog, but can be timid at times, and at others a bit bossy depending on whom he is dealing with. He loves to get head scratches and nose rubs. He is crate trained and responds well to commands. He seems to prefer being in his crate but spends time outside when directed to do so. Overall Romeo is a very lovavble dog who just needs love & attention to help him master the art of being a pet. Sammy is amazing! Unknown what happen as he was brought into the shelter as a stray dog with a limp. After X-rays it was determined Sammy had a break to his back leg and an FHO was performed to correct the injury. He has made a full recovery and is ready to ROMP! Sammy has thrived since arriving to his foster home. He has become a local celebrity in his neighborhood and greets people with a sunny disposition. He is sweet, loving, fun loving and a character. This boy enjoys life and his loves his foster mum. Sammy has become best friends with the 12lb Terrier mix across the street. They are quite the pair when they are playing!! Sammy likes to sit or lay on the balcony and watches as people walk by. Just enjoying the folks and enjoying the day. Sammy is house trained, walks gently on a leash, no separation anxiety, very calm, no dog aggression. He knows basic commands and is going through some additional training. Shogun! Sho is lovely…..Mr chill, he does not like it when other dogs don’t get along. It truly stresses him out. He likes lazy days in the rain, nice calm walks. He is Mr Zen. He is currently living with two senior German Shepherds and they are just his speed. Sho is house trained and in fact will hold going to the restroom at all costs. He is sweet, great on leash, walks next to you. Great off leash, this boy is a treasure. He comes when he is called. Sho is affectionate, sweet and adoring! He is a personal favorite. Probably best with no small dogs and good with kids who are older. He does have some separation anxiety and will need to be crated when left alone until he realizes you are coming back. Sho rides well in the car and has a very gentle mouth when taking treats and he is a slow eater! Shogun enjoys gardening and I hanging out! Calling German Shepherd Lovers- we have a winner! Betty was pulled from Martinez Animal Shelter after being trapped in a Concord neighborhood. We immediately loved this gal,m. She gave us gentle kisses after being trapped. She spent a couple of weeks at Martinez Animal Shelter for an owner surrender hold where she received more love and admiration for her extremely sweet demeanor. Upon completion of her owner hold, Ms Betty Boop was taken directly into a foster home- and she is delightful. She was appropriately named Betty because she will "boop" you with a kiss on the fly. We suspect she was once someone’s pet because if you open a crinkle package, she’s right at your feet wagging her tail for a snack 🐾 😊 She is everything we love about the German Shepherd breed. At 1 years of age she is sweet and smart, inquisitive, affectionate, wants to please, and has very nice manners. She is quiet in her crate at night, fantastic with her 6 month old foster brother and 10 year old foster sister. She is polite and gentle with the 4yr old and 6yr old she resides with, but she is constantly convicted of kissing, gently nibbling, and snuggling them at every opportunity. She LOVES to play with toys, has no resource guarding, mastered a recall in a few days, is potty trained, and takes treats so gently! She walks excellent on a leash, rides perfectly in the car, and is just amazing!! One slightly stern “no” is enough correction for her, she is just so easy going. Also you better love to cuddle because if you sit on the couch she’ll be in your lap! She is 70lbs, spayed, and ready to find a furever home. We haven’t cat tested her, but with her gentle nature, we suspect she’d be just fine. (small dog tested and of course, she is excellent)! Can you tell yet that we love this dog?? This is girl is absolutely wonderful and available for adoption. show less
