Margie is a sweet, shy, and gentle senior dog who has been in foster and has thoroughly charmed her foster pawrents. Margie was initially found as a stray and may be what we refer to as a “breeder dog.” She likely had numerous litters in her life, but she is now healthy and cared for in foster and very ready to find her loving furever home. For those who love their seniors, Margie is a true gem. She has an old-soul way about her and deep brown eyes that warm our hearts. She is respectful and good with other dogs, although she might be perfectly happy being your one-and-only. On her neighborhood walks, she seems to find confidence following the lead of another dog. Margie is house-trained and does well with routine. Margie enjoys slow sniff walks in the park, afternoon naps, and soft chin scritches. She is a big fan of treats (and all food, really), is fine alone at home for several hours, and is crate trained as well. When she's relaxed and happy, Margie rolls on her back and shows off her belly. Her ideal family will go at Margie’s pace patiently, understand that she takes her time getting to know people, and let her know she is loved. She is seeking a family that can appreciate her past and help her with her future. Margie can't wait to find a safe, calm home, where she can relax and learn to be a dog and not a “financial asset”. Our vet, Dr. Olivia believes she is about 8 years of age. Adopt her to add more unconditional love to your home. Adoption fees: Senior dogs: 7+ years $350.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering
