Meet Pixie! Pixie is a sweet and affectionate German Shepherd who is looking for her forever home. Pixie is approximately 2-3 years old and a petite 55lbs. Pixie is healthy, current on all her vaccinations, and has been spayed. Her youthful energy and playful spirit outdoors are balanced by her calm demeanor indoors. Pixie is a quick learner and is treat-motivated, with a desire to please her humans. She is attentive and knows a wide range of commands including sit, down, stay, and wait.  Pixie would be good in a home with an experienced GSD family of adults and older children, probably no cats. She is loyal and protective of her people like most German Shepherds. She is shy around new people and benefits from gentle and proper introductions. Pixie loves going on daily walks, playing fetch, and accompanying her family on daily errands. She travels extremely well and has joined her foster family on camping and hiking trips. She’s good with other dogs with proper introductions and is eager to play. When it comes to being home alone, Pixie is remarkably well behaved. She is both crate trained and can have the run of the home without incident.  If you're searching for a companion who is loyal, loving, well-behaved, and highly interactive, Pixie is the dog for you. She is ready to embark on a new journey with loving people who can appreciate her intelligence, loyalty, love for play, and kind heart. Adoption fees: Adult  dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs.  Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. My name is Jackson and I am an old soul. I am not that old, approximately 6-8 months old, but I give an air of been here before and not to sweat the small stuff. Jackson is calm and observent. He watches and learns for those around him. Jackson was left at the Oakland animal shelter with two other dogs. It is apparent that no one had spent much time socializing him with other dogs or people. Although he gains his confidence by being with other dogs. To touch Jackson he is so soft. He is gentle and loving and seems to want to learn more about life… This boy is a dream, great with dogs, unknown about cats, but he is a dream. Jackson is now available for adoption from Calpaws K9 Rescue. Husky/Malamute mix ~ 7 mos old/46 pounds. Jackson absolutely adores other dogs and his best match for a home would have AT LEAST 1 other confident dog to show him that people can be great. He’s perfectly behaved in a car. Jackson definitely identifies with his Malamute side and is pretty darn chill. He’s playful and loves his pack walks but does not have nutty Husky energy to burn. He’s a pretty zen little dude. To find out more about Jackson go to CalPaws.org or send an email to cpk9rescue@gmail.com Adoption fees: Puppies and dogs up to 1 year old: $450 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Meet Tripp! Tripp came to us from the Fresno area.  He was brought in with his lower leg hardly attached.  Medically the Vets recommended Euthanasia or amputation.  We know dogs adapt so well as tri-pods, so there really was no choice. Tripp has been decompressing for just over 2 months now and he is now ready to find his forever family.   Tripp came to me super scared with his tail between his legs, no doubt from his past abuse, to a dog who loves to greet new visitors with his tail wagging. We have been working on basic commands.  He is super treat motivated and with his need to please he is learning so quick!  He walks great on a leash with no reactions to other dogs or people. He is a very chill boy.  He loves to play, but is a very mild easy going Mal.(He doe not know he has three legs!)  He has gotten along with our currents dogs both male and female, as well as tiny puppy fosters.  He is so so gentle. Tripp loves to lean in for all the love you can give. He loves to hug you back.  Its seriously the cutest!  He truly is the sweetest boy! doption fees: Adult  dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Chicky came to us, scared of her own shadow, we even had to go so far as to carry her from the car to the house, carry her into the backyard to use the bathroom, and she was frozen in fear every moment of the day, until we grabbed a leash when would come alive. So we started walking her and walking her and walking her and taking her to the dog park and getting her out of the house as much as possible she used to be petrified of Brian and now he’s one of her favorite people on the planet. she never barks, she is the most well-behaved dog I’ve ever had in my house, she knows where her bed is. She knows where her sitting spots are, and she never choose anything except a dog toy. She is such a loving, sweetheart, and as long as she’s getting regular walks, she’s quite a happy dog. She is scared of children and loud teenagers, even being in our house since December, that has not changed however, her fear of strangers in general has gotten much better, over the last few weeks she’s now started taking treats from strangers at the dog park.! She is also cat friendly! Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. They spend their days playing outside and learning to potty in designated areas, while inside they are already working on potty pad training as well. They’re also working on recall with basic hand signals and squeaky toys, and are gentle at taking treats from small hands. Margie is a sweet, shy, and gentle senior dog who has been in foster and has thoroughly charmed her foster pawrents. Margie was initially found as a stray and may be what we refer to as a “breeder dog.” She likely had numerous litters in her life, but she is now healthy and cared for in foster and very ready to find her loving furever home. For those who love their seniors, Margie is a true gem. She has an old-soul way about her and deep brown eyes that warm our hearts. She is respectful and good with other dogs, although she might be perfectly happy being your one-and-only. On her neighborhood walks, she seems to find confidence following the lead of another dog. Margie is house-trained and does well with routine. Margie enjoys slow sniff walks in the park, afternoon naps, and soft chin scritches. She is a big fan of treats (and all food, really), is fine alone at home for several hours, and is crate trained as well. When she's relaxed and happy, Margie rolls on her back and shows off her belly. Her ideal family will go at Margie’s pace patiently, understand that she takes her time getting to know people, and let her know she is loved. She is seeking a family that can appreciate her past and help her with her future. Margie can't wait to find a safe, calm home, where she can relax and learn to be a dog and not a “financial asset”. Our vet, Dr. Olivia believes she is about 8 years of age. Adopt her to add more unconditional love to your home. Adoption fees: Senior dogs: 7+ years $350.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Meet Moldaver! Moldaver is a sweet, smart, goofy girl who loves nothing more than to be at your side, whether it’s embarking on a new adventure, learning some fun new tricks, or curling up at your feet after a long day. She is a fast learner and already knows how to sit, lay down, stay, come, and leave it. She is working on house training and crate training, and sleeps through the night in her crate. She’s great at keeping herself entertained with her toys, but also enjoys chasing and wrestling other dogs. Moldaver is good with kids, and she’s curious about cats, but knows to leave them be. She is enjoying exploring the world on a leash, and still working on her leash training. At times Moldaver can be timid about new things, but once you show her its ok, she’s ready to jump into the action. Moldaver is active and highly intelligent, and would do well in a home that matches her desire to train and learn, and that has a yard for her to run in.
