Meet Flint, a handsome guy who can't wait to zooom! for joy with his fur-ever family.  Flint is a 1 year old pitsky, pitty/husky x, with a striking, unique look and a playful spirit to match.  Flint was found as a stray, but his story didn't begin there. When his rescuer saw him and opened up her car door, it's almost as if he knew a different kind of door was opening for him, because he didn't hesitate to take the opportunity that had been offered. He simply turned, ran, and launched himself into that car and the start of his new life without a single look back. After being reported found, his origins as a homeless dog were uncovered. He was known to have been passed from hand to hand, but it never lasted long. Now that he’s a CalPaws dog those days are over.  With the exception of his sunburned coat, you would never suspect that this dog has faced so many challenges in just the first year of his life. Flint is a bold adventurer and there's not much that phases this guy. He has no suspicion of strangers and makes friends everywhere he goes. Flint loves to play! Tug is his favorite, but he likes all toys, especially squeaky ones, and he doesn't mind sharing them with other dogs. Catching treats is great fun too! When it's hot outside, he likes to cool down by digging in his water bowl. When it comes to walks, you better have a hand on him before you pick up that leash because Flint loves to zoom-zoom-zooooom! Spinning, scooting zooms with a crazy grin and flopping tongue.  Flint is crate trained and working on his housetraining. He hasn't had any incidents indoors since saying goodbye to his manhood. He's smart and a quick learner, and would have a lot of fun learning new tricks with his new person. Flint is young and energetic, and is still learning not to jump up or be mouthy when playing. For this reason, he would do best in a home without small children.  show less

Meet Chewy, a fur missile ready to rocket his way into your heart.  Chewy is a 1 year old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois with raw talent to spare, just waiting to be polished into a shining star by a new partner in crime! Or rather, a partner in crime prevention.  Chewy could excel at many jobs, with a possible future in search & rescue, police work, scent detection, or protection sports. He is currently taking Nosework classes with Dierdra McElroy at All Dogs Sport Park and loving it. He has also dipped his toes into dock diving and it's safe to say he's a fan!  Chewy has high prey drive, high toy drive, and med-high food drive. He is crate and ecollar trained, has had extensive obedience, body awareness, and fitness training, but still needs more finesse and work on distractions. He's a quick study and a very happy boy to work for his handler.  Chewy has some reactivity towards strangers, human and canine, as well as wheeled equipment and machinery. Despite this, Chewy has shown that he can successfully integrate into environments with new people and dogs with a little patience. He loves to play with his older Malinois sister (when she feels like humoring his boundless energy and enthusiasm) and knows to leave the senior dog in his home alone. Chewy will not share his toys with other dogs, but he's quite happy to give them up to his human.  Chewy is not a good fit for a pet home and is currently available for adoption to a competitive sport or career working dog home.  show less

Few ladies can achieve the gorgeous eye make up that our boy Baron (aka "Bear-bear", "wiggle butt") flaunts, along with perfectly peaked ears and a handsome swagger! With his big smile and happy, wiggly butt, he will get any Grinch into the holiday spirit! Baron is ready to play but past those blessed puppy stages! He has never had an accident in his foster home, and calmly sits at the door to be let out when he needs it. He could demonstrate sit, shake, and lay-down as soon as he arrived. He loves to show physical affection, whether he is trying to "hug" you with his paws, bury his face in your lap, or full-body spoon in bed. While he prefers half of your cal-king bed to sleep, he is also a good boy in his crate! His affection and eager-to-please personality spans from adults to small children, who he happily allows to snuggle him right back. Unfortunately, cats don't appreciate his snuggles quite as much, and while he does not pursue them to injure, he is still curious and likes to ask them to play. He responds well to "leave it" in these situations, and is showing less and less interest in them. Baron is pawsy in play, and loves a playmate! He especially loves other pawsy dogs around his size, who get the zoomies like he does! He makes the cutest noises wrestling with his husky-shepherd foster brother. In fetch, he will happily frolic off in chase, but promptly forgets the "fetch" part. He does love soft, squishy and squeaky toys, as well as some good old fashioned tug-o-war. He is good at engaging play, however is relatively submissive should another dog not appreciate his style. He readily rolls over, belly up for forgiveness, and asks for a re-do! Baron is perfect for an active adventurer, but also loves a good cozy day on the couch. He truly appreciates a good Netflix binge as much as we do, and expects snacks to be shared. He is not food aggressive, but is very motivated by treats. He is more of a grazer when it comes to meals. He's been enjoying Benebones and shows zero interest in stinky shoes! Baron is a fast learner, and quickly picked up his new name, and the foster-household routines. He knows when to expect the kids home from school and fully greets and inspects them upon their return. His kisses are sweet, gentle, and not too sloppy, and he really appreciates a bald baby with dinner still stuck to his head. Baron is happy to assist in "Clean the baby" time, when the dogs are given permission to clean the floor, highchair, and baby, post-meal. Did you drop something on the floor while cooking, and can't pick it up? Simply call "clean up!", tap your toe near the mess, and Baron will be RIGHT there on duty! He is the perfect Sous Chef who will both clean, and perform quality control, for your meal time.  Baron will walk excitedly on a leash, but responds quickly to correction. He constantly looks to the human in charge for affirmation. He listens best to his foster mom, versus his foster dad, but he spends the most time with her as she works from home. He may give foster-dad the side-eye when told to go outside, yet he has no problem pouncing into bed on him!  He lounges comfortably on car and plane rides, and will gladly sit in the back, or shotgun. We are curious if he is 5% bunny rabbit, as he has quite the spring in his step! He can easily bounce straight over a baby gate, however once told to "stay", he obliges.  He also enjoys acquiring a spot on the couch via the back of the couch, versus the front, but again responds well to correction with this nifty party trick of his. (We will admit, it's quite fun to watch him do it!) show less
