Patriot is as sweet as honey! He is a mellow, easy going and friendly pup to all; and he loves to make friends, big and small. Judging by the way he just wants to melt into your lap, I'd say he doesn't realize how big of a boy he really is; but don't let his size intimidate you, he is truly a gentle giant of a pup! At home Patriot spends half of his time outside with other dogs and the rest of his time inside the house. Although he doesn't get crate time during the day, he does prefer to sleep in his crate at night. Patriot is house-broken. He loves going for long walks, and also enjoys riding in the car. He understands "sit", and is very treat motivated. Patriot loves children, and he absolutely loves to be pet, held, hugged, snuggled with any chance he can get. Chicken and goat free home would be ideal as he does like to chase them, and he has injured some chickens. show less

Meet Reese! Reese’s is the happy medium of the three sisters. She is socialable and likes to be part of the action. If she feels like something else is more interesting she’s happy to check it out on her own. She loves being outside and is content to do her own thing in the yard while everyone else is inside. She’s still very snuggly when exploring time is over and it’s time to settle in for the afternoon nap. Reese’s would love someone who is the outdoorsy type and could take her on adventures either regularly or as a weekend warrior. Reese’s would likely thrive in an environment where she can go in and out as she pleases while you’re at work. Semper is one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs! He is beyond sweet & friendly and his demeanor is extremely docile. He is a very laid back guy who naturally wants to please - he is a complete gentleman! He does not jump, pull on the leash, chew things he shouldn’t, or get anxious or overly excited. He is friendly with every dog and person he meets and he is extremely tolerant. He’s not officially off-leash trained, but this boy always checks in & naturally wants to walk in stride with you. He is as ready to adventure as he is to sleep on the couch! Semper is crate and house trained and would be a fantastic family dog either as a single dog or with other dogs. Semper’s demeanor is such that he could even make a great therapy dog in the future. This boy is truly so special and deserves the BEST forever home! show less

Meet Sequoia! This sweet face! Sequoia is about 2 years old, on the petite side and despite not being treated well when she was young she has the biggest heart full of love for her family. She is the most loyal, devoted Velcro dog ever. She has become my shadow so all my photos of her are by my side - whether it’s waking up, brushing my teeth, cooking, reading, working, doing chores outside - she is right there, settled in, front legs tucked under her and just happy being with me. She will look up at us adoringly. She does have bursts of energy and loves playing with her foster brothers. She loves to be chased so will antagonize them to chase her. She will play ball a little but not very much into fetch. She seems to prefer cuddle time with a few times for exercise to get the wiggles out. She recently conquered her fear of stairs and will go up and down now cautiously. She does go in a crate when we need, but we have found she’s happiest in her bed for the night right next to our bed. Sequoia loves our cat, plays with him gently and also respects the chickens when when they are roaming around the yard. She will hunt the occasional fly but we just haven’t seen a strong prey drive. Sequoia would do best in a home with another dog. She is happy to be the follower not the leader. In her last foster home she had bad separation anxiety but we haven’t seen this probably because she has the foster sibling dogs and she’s also now out of that decompression state. Sequoia is very protective of her family. New people and dogs need to be introduced slowly. She needs a family that has experience working with a dog that needs slow introductions and how to keep her on a leash during transitions. She will alert bark and bark (and even warning growl) if she meets someone new in her house / in her space. She needs to be on leash to learn that these are friends. She has already shown great progress and we just need this training to continue. Sequoia does have some food allergies that make her itchy - chicken and wheat predominantly. She eats a venison kibble that works well for her and can eat most treats. If you’d like to learn more about Sequoia her foster mom is happy to talk and even do a meet and greet. Just fill out an application with CalPaws and reference Sequoia! Adoption fees: Adult dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Each of our dogs are up to date on vaccines and chiped. Meet Maya! Maya, recently rescued from San Jose Animal Care is estimated to be about 7 years old. She's a gorgeous girl with straight back and beautiful black and red coloring. Maya was originally adopted out in 2020 and found as a stray in June 2024, so back to the same shelter that she came from. No one came for her but someone had taught her 'sit' and 'down'. She's a quick learner, she now sits and waits before meals, going out of the door and before crossing the street. She has been learning 'come', 'wait' and 'leave it' commands. Maya is great with people including foster's mom's neighbor who is afraid of big dogs. She attended Cellar Door adoption events and did well meeting people and dogs. She first showed no interest when meeting cats, but now seems interested to play. We believe so is cat workable. She's crate trained but prefers to sleep freely in foster mom's living room. She walks fairly well with a no pull harness. Maya is a sweet girl and easy to handle. No issues with bath and grooming. She is now interested in playing with toys and will carry them around the house and backyard. Foster mom will update as Maya is still decompressing and settling down to a routine. show less
