Meet Tabitha Tabitha is an approximately 1-2 year old female Anatolian Shepherd Dog. She is spayed and has all her shots.  She is also housebroken. She was a terrified girl at the Stanislaus shelter who had recently had puppies.  Because she was so shut down, her time was up!  She’s has been in foster care learning how to just be a dog.  Her first walk was baby steps.  Each step for her was a step of faith.  She was terrified of people and still doesn’t want much human interaction but she is learning to trust.   Tabitha started coming out of her shell playing with our male Anatolian.  He got her to wag her tail for the first time. We then fostered some 6 month old German Shepherd puppies and she took to babysitting them.  They all ran and played in the pasture together until the puppies were adopted.  Tabitha was sweet with her corrections and the puppies all deferred to her.  She has since been living with a young German Shepherd boy named Vinny.  Vinny has gotten Tabitha to wrestle and dog play go into the kiddie pool, play with toys and bark at “dangers”. Tabitha leashes up nicely for walks but is shy to be leashed up.   Tabitha would do well in a home with a large yard and other friendly dogs. She’s still shy of people and will need a family who will take their time building trust with her.  She is a gentle soul with a brave heart.  Once she is settled in, her true Anatolian spirit comes out as a love and protector. Let us know if you want more information or a meet & greet. Adoption fees: Puppies: 0-1yr $450.00 Adult  dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Seniors 6+ $350.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs.  Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Meet Gigi! We believe Gigi is a Bucovina Shepherd.  She is approximately 3 months and already close to 50 lbs.  Her full-grown weight could range from 110 – 180lbs.  She is a very large breed.  That being said she is also the sweetest most gentle giant.  She absolutely adores children!  She loves other animals, dogs, cats, and livestock.  Since she loves the company of other animals she does need another resident dog in the home.  She doesn’t much care for the crate and much rather sleep on a dog bed.  She still is working on potty training but is very close to mastering it.  She loves to be around people and being part of a family!  She is still learning basic commands and is a super happy learner.  Please research the breed as she will be a very large breed. Adoption fees: Puppies: 0-1yr $450.00 Adult  dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Seniors 6+ $350.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Meet Mama Maddy! Mama was found wondering in an area where many dogs are dumped.  She was left there for about 2 years a local farmer told us.  When she was brought into the rescue she was so defeated and shut down we knew it would take her time to decompress.  She has made a complete turnaround.  Her eyes are happy and soul shines so bright now! Mama, has been the sweetest, most mellow and low maintenance dog ever. She came into our home feeling unsure about herself and unsure if it was okay to be inside the house but with a little encouragement she quickly made herself at home and picked out the most comfortable spots in the house, the couch and my son’s bed, Ha! :D She has been great with my 4 year old boy as well as with our cat. She is non reactive to dogs, people or anything really. She seems to be attracted to smaller dogs  or dogs her own size, and females but very submissive to male dogs. She walks great on leash, likes to explore, however does not have the best recall manners but I think that will come with time as she gets used to having a human of her own. She is also a little bit of a food thief if left unattended but she is a quick learner so with love and patience this can be worked on. Overall, the best mama ever! She has very little prey drive, so we believe she is cat workable.
