Meet Dexter! Mr Dexter is our Mr Independent. We are commonly saying “where is Dex now” he likes to explore to do his own thing but will always come when called. Dexter is very affectionate and will give you as many kisses as you allow. He has typical puppy behaviors but corrects very easy. He loves chasing the tails of his big canine foster brothers but listens quickly to their correction when he pulls too hard. He also lives with his four humans. Two adults and a teen and a four year old. He is definitely the teens fave boy. He will get sassy and rowdy and bounce around you for playtime and will curl up in your lap for a snuggle. He also lives with a senior feline foster sister who he is curious but respectful of. He loves being around other dogs and would do amazing in a home with a canine sibling teaching him the ropes. He can be  pretty chill and a bit of an old soul  but also with spurts of fun.  Dexter loves treats and will already pay close attention just to receive one. He will be great with kids of any age as he isn’t too mouthy and corrects well.  Dexter will be a truly joyous addition to any family as he absolutely has been to ours. Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Our dogs are spayed/neutered and a registered chip. For our puppies they are up to date on vaccinations.  Once adopted it is the new owner’s responsibility to continue the remaining vaccinations with a veterinarian. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Howdy YALL!  I'm Georgia, I am the new girl around this place called Calpaws K9 Rescue! I am living with this nice woman and her hubby local to Livermore, CA but willing to travel for the right home. I flew in from the Central Valley (yes road great on a private plane) where I was at a boarding facility. I was 1 of 4 pups that were dropped off there after our backyard breeder couldn't get rid of us. I guess there are too many puppies in the world. Thankfully I landed here. My foster mom and dad said I shouldnt brag about myself so they wrote a little something about me and here it is…. “Georgia is super shy at first but her goofy personality really shines after a few minutes together. She sleeps well in a crate and goes potty outside almost 100% of the time. She currently knows to sit, down, and come but they are newer commands to her so she doesn’t get them all the time. She’s a real cuddle bug and loves to sit next to you on the couch. She really loves other dogs and takes being corrected by other dogs well. She’s pretty respectful of other dogs' space and boundaries. She is okay with cats but she likes to chase them so it’s entirely dependent on the cat in the home if they will tolerate her. She walks very well on a leash but sometimes gets spooked by new or loud sounds and will stop walking until you tell her it’s okay. She loves water and has no problems with baths! She’ll even try to join you in the shower if you let her. She's a perfect shotgun rider and would love a road trip or two. She shares well, whether it’s food, toys, or space!! “ Awww… thanks Foster Mom. You are so nice! I can't wait to find my forever home I hope that I sound good to you! If I do head to www.calpaws.org and fill out a application! show less

Once upon a time, Bella had a fella. I was found in an orchard and gave birth to a beautiful solo pup. I was such an amazing momma to my newborn pup. With lots of patience, time and repetition my foster mom has earned my whole heart! I am still working on trusting other humans as I’m just not quite there yet.  My foster brother and sister are the best and I love playing with them each and every day. Unfortunately, I get along better with male dogs than females. I am potty trained and I’ve even learned how to use a dog door. I would need a quiet home with potential parents that have lots of patience, want a challenge and are willing to work with me to earn my trust. To be completely honest, I sometimes take 5 steps forward and then 3 steps backwards. Having another fur brother or sister would also be recommended, as I can learn from them. I love my foster mom so much I trust her completely. I love her kisses, love to snuggle her and be her lap dog when she says it’s ok. One day soon, I hope I can do that with other humans, so I can learn to spread the love. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. “Sadie is the perfect houseguest! She is so affectionate and playful, you would never know she was 8 years old! “ - Sadie’s petsitter We couldn’t agree more! ✅Great with babies, toddlers, children of all ages ✅Introductions are easy - just a sniff of your hand is needed ✅Completely ignores indoor cats ✅ Housebroken and will let you know when she needs to go outside. ✅Playful with other dogs once a slow introduction has been made ✅Knows her commands - strongest are “here”, “leave it”, “off”, “wait” (She knows all of them though!) ✅ Walks at a heel with a pinch collar and will walk with you as long as you’d like 10 min - 3 hours! ✅ Respectful of household items - can be left alone for hours in the house without messing with anything (besides food left on the counter! 🤣) ✅Travels well in the car - just lies down and takes a nap ✅ No health issues - hips, teeth, ears, heart - all doing great! ✅ Not sensitive to touch - she has no hesitation letting you touch her paws, nails, ears or teeth. ✅Does not guard her food, toys or bed (She even lets the cats eat her food and sleep on her bed!) Sadie would love to have a family of her own!  She would do well in a busy household or one where people are home most of the time.  She loves going on walks and spending time with you (and her beloved tennis balls) in the backyard. She is definitely a people dog and will check in with you frequently at home requesting pets and cuddles and on walks if she is unsure of something. Sadie would be fine being an only dog, but would also do well in a household that has other dogs to play with.  Sadie is a  lovely 100% German Shepherd. show less

Meet Sadie! Momma Sadie - Momma is a sweet, kind hearted dog who is looking for her forever home. She has had a rough life but she still finds a way to see the silver lining each day. We are guessing she is around 7 years old. She loves to curl up on your lap and just be close to you. She loves affection and has been an amazing mom to her 6 puppies. She is friendly with small and large dogs alike. She is cautious around new people but warms up to them with proper introduction. She has spent her life scavenging for her next meal so she does need someone who is willing to put in some work/training with her to not feel as though she needs to always be on the search for her next meal. Momma is an adventurous dog and enjoys being physically challanged.  SHe will make a great hiking buddy!. Hoping Momma Sadie will find a safe place to finally call home and live out the rest of her years being loved the way she has always deserved.  dult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. Meet Nemo! Nemo is a sweet Cane Corso.  He's super clumsy, he still has to get used to his long legs. He enjoys playing and exploring.  He does great in a crate and even sleeps all night long.   He knows how to use a doggy door.  He is completely housetrained.  He loves any and all toys.  He is super affectionate and loves cuddles.  Currently Nemo lives with a Chocolate Lab who he does well with.  He has met a cat but was too intimidated by her hisses.  He is working on simple commands but seems to be a fast learner. Meet Nessie. I am very lovable, slightly aloof girl looking for her fur-ever home. One of my favorite things to do is hang out with you and give lots of kisses.  I love to play with toys, especially the squeaky ones! Being a good girl, I am house trained, crate trained, I walk well on leash, and I I know my basic obedience.   At night, if you put a blanket or a dog bed next to your bed, I will sleep next to you, that is my favorite place.  I love going for walks and I ride well in the car.  Take me on hikes with you, I am very agile and like to make it over any obstacles.  I have a very strong prey drive and would do well in such activities. Cats are a thing to chase, so a home without cats would be ideal. I also like to hang out on the couch with you and if you are not sitting in your favorite chair, I will curl up in it. I have not been around children much, so I would need a slow introduction to them. I will sneak up and gently steal toys from my foster sister (Cora). I have been introduced to pup cups and really enjoyed them.    I am really learning what it is like to be a dog. I am learning commands like sit, paw, down and stay. I will do well in a house with another confident dog to help show me the ropes. I am definitely a dog that requires time and trust, but I am a loyal and loving dog to my people.  Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Let it Rain!    Rain is approximately 5 years old, an old soul with eyes that tell untold stories of her unbelievable past. At the most recent vet follow-up on her front left leg’s limp, a set of X-rays of all four legs revealed shocking discovery. The vet found bullets, bullet fragments and BB pellet in Rain’s legs and body. One of the bullets shattered her front left humerus and the bone healed on its own in an abnormal way (we can’t even imagine the pain that Rain went through at the time), the inflammation causes Rain to hesitate putting full weight on that leg. We are not 100% sure but the vet said that Rain was probably used for target practice. Despite the atrocious abuse, this girl has remained sweet and loves people of all ages, dogs of all sizes and even cats and horses. Rain has a low to medium energy, she’s perfect for a family that wants a calm and easy going dog, daily short walk and occasional trip to the beach. She had been to Poplar Beach in HMB and hiked Devil’s Slide with foster mom, and easily did 1-1.4 miles. She’s doing well on Galliprant once a day to manage the inflammation, join supplement and turmeric. You’d be surprised to see Rain running around the house and backyard, tossing her toys in the air and playing with Pita, the other Calpaws K9 girl. Rain loves her daily walk and is good on loose leash walking, she knows her basic commands and being a German Shepherd, she will alert her people with a loud alarm bark. Rain is not asking for much, her only wish is to find a family that will keep her safe and cherish her for the rest of her life.
