Franklin is dog friendly, loves his foster pack, people friendly, although he is a bit shy at first. Looks like he was not treated very well. His left hip does look smaller and seems was either injured or born with a defect, but this does not stop this little guy. Please note: We are a small rescue and do not have the resources to respond to inquiries. If a dog is on our website, it is still available. We can not arrange meet & greet without an application. We are not a shelter and do not have a facility. All our dogs are in foster homes. Adoption Fees: Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old: $450 Dogs over 2 and under 6 years old: $400 Dogs 6 or more years old: $350 Please follow Calpaws K9 rescue on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CalpawsK9Rescue) for updates on our dogs. About a month ago we were asked to pull Rocky from the Fresno Shelter. This is a common request and from every shelter. We had no where for Rocky to go. No foster and no place for him. Rocky was set to euthanized that evening and we wanted to help. So with out a plan he came into our rescue. We do get applications from people wanting to foster, but many say they want a smaller dog, or a calm dog, many have cats, can not foster until a few months. So very few of these applications actually come into fruition. Since the urgency is for “now” quite often we need someone available and and ready to go last minute. Rescue is about being able to act quickly and work with what we have available at that time. Rescue is always changing. So Rocky was spared being euthanized and for a month he sat in another outside kennel, waiting on his medical. Last week we got him in for his vaccines and his neuter and then he was transported up to us from the Central Valley to the Bay Area. The paperwork says he is a year. He has a new foster and they have renamed him Franklin, which we love. He is dog friendly, loves his foster pack, people friendly, although he is a bit shy at first. Looks like he was not treated very well. His left hip does look smaller and seems was either injured or born with a defect, but this does not stop this little guy. He is very sweet and would be an asset in any home. He weights 47lbs, so he is a little guy! He sure is handsome. We will be getting his hip checked and we are willing to set it up with his new adopters vet. He sure is a cutie! 🐾🐾💜🐾🐾 Franklin is now available and ready to be adopted.
