Lucy is almost 5 years old, she has had a tough life, moved from place to place. She is a very loyal girl and she bonds hard to her person.  Lucy gets along with respectful dogs. She does like to be the queen bee and wants everyone to know she is in charge.  She is easily corrected and wants to please. She is a really good dog. She has 2 barks, when she wants your attention for some pets, a treat or to go outside she uses her inside voice, when she is alerting you to something more, there is definately a difference! With Lucy the house is always safe. She is fine with her current fosters dog savvy 8 year old but she mostly ignores him and just wants to be near the adult in the house. Lucy is completely crate trained and house broken. Each morning when she comes out of her crate and again after she comes in from outside, she finds the toy of the day and proudly carries it around the house... often times squeaking it unbelieveably fast!  Lucy would be great in an active home with breed experience as she can sometimes be nervous meeting new people as she decides who is friend or foe. Her forever home could have older children or no children, polite dogs, and lots of love to give as Lucy deserves it and thrives on it, she is love motivated.    Lucy is vaccinated, spayed, chipped and ready to be in a home where is treasured. She is house trained, she rides nicely in the car. Lucy loves her walks and knows exactly where she can find her leash.  Adoption fees: Adult  dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs.  Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Meet Rory! Rory is a very pretty young lady.  She knows some of her basic commands, but she is capable of learning many more. She is eager to please and always wanting to learn more.  Rory has been exposed to children of all ages, dogs and she is even good with cats.  Despite the breed, Ms Rory has very little prey drive and makes her an excellent candidate for any household with lots of activity.  Rory would make an excellent addition to any family! Rory is housetrained and crate trained.  Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Brick is a one-year-old GSD/Mountain Cur mix who was rescued with his brother after they were found abandoned at a high school in Burlingame. After completing an 8-week board and training program at RFRD Academy in San Jose, Brick is now ready to find his forever home. Weighing 64 pounds, he thrives as a solo pet and would love a home where he can be the center of attention. Brick is a loyal companion who enjoys accompanying his person on adventures and errands. He is well-trained and knows commands like "sit," "place," "down," "come," "no," and "break." Brick’s ideal home is with someone who is confident and excited to continue his training. He’s crate trained and very food motivated. Brick enjoys walks, but what he loves most is simply spending quality time with his person. He’s currently in a foster home with three other dogs and has adapted well, though he may shine best as a solo companion or with a female companion. If you’re looking for a devoted and enthusiastic partner, Brick might just be your perfect match! It is unknown whether he is good with cats. He is house trained. He prefers a quiet environment over a loud ones. He is a dog that likes a slow introduction both with people and other dogs, but will warm right up once you're in his group of pals. show less

Meet Odin a gentle 14-week-old German Shepherd ready to find his forever home. August was rescued from a challenging start in a backyard breeder's hoarding situation. He was underweight and infected with fleas and parasites. He was in a place not suitable for a grown dog, let alone a puppy. Odin has flourished in his foster home and is showing us his shy and sweet personality. His loves water and his favorite thing to do is playing in his puppy pool. He also enjoys playing with his brother, running after thrown toys, and play tug of war with ropes. During down time, August will chewy on a Kong chewy filled with peanut butter or play nicely with his toys. He will avoid excessively loud noises and will walk away if he thinks you’re petting too roughly. Odin comes when called, knows the encouragement of “go potty” and responds well to a firm “No.” He is also crate trained and will hold his potty while in his crate at night- only becoming vocal when he needs to go out to potty. He is currently learning how to potty train and is doing excellent on hard surfaces but may sometimes mistakes carpet for grass.    Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Our dogs are spayed/neutered and a registered chip. For our puppies they are up to date on vaccinations.  Once adopted it is the new owner’s responsibility to continue the remaining vaccinations with a veterinarian. show less

Meet Polo!   As a foster, you want to come up with something catchy and cute to not only capture attention, but also convey the dog’s personality.  I had so many ideas of what to say, but the more time I spend with Polo, the more I realize he doesn’t need any of that because he is one of those ‘once in a blue moon’ dogs.  Before we picked Polo up, I talked with Beth who was one of the volunteers who helped rescue him.  She warned me I would fall in love with him (which I have) and I know he will steal the hearts of his forever family.   In the short time he has been with us, the focus has been on teaching Polo how to simply be a dog.  Everything is so new to him; this morning the toilet paper roll made him jump!  Despite that, Polo has quickly learned walks are fun, stairs aren’t scary, belly rubs are the best, and treats are worth sitting for.  He will continue to need guidance and training, especially socializing around people, but is incredibly gentle and patient with young kids. Another resident dog will also be essential for Polo to thrive. Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies.
