Meet Benny, a super cute young adult neutered male Maltese mix, weighing about 10 lbs! Benny and Bianca came to us as local intakes when a Good Samaritan contacted us after finding them both roaming the streets in very poor condition. They were underweight and riddled with fleas. 😔 The Good Samaritan tried to find their owner but no one claimed them, and he was not in a position to keep them, so we took them into rescue and got them up to date on vetting. Bianca was found to be pregnant a short time later and is due to give birth in January 2026, so she will not be available until her puppies are weaned and she is spayed. But Benny is ready to find his furever family and put his past behind him! Benny is a friendly, sweet boy who loves everyone and just wants to be your BFF! He is very playful and enjoys running around with the other dogs in his foster home. He also loves to cuddle! This boy is a total love who does not have a mean bone in his body 🥰 He is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids.  Benny is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special boy today! **Benny will not be available until our 1/11/26 adoption event at Petco in Dayville, CT. We are accepting applications on him now! We will prioritize applicants who are able to attend the 1/11 event. If Benny is not adopted at the event, we will move on to other applicants.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Justin Timberlake, a super sweet 11 month old neutered male mixed breed dog, weighing about 25 lbs! Justin and his 5 brothers (the Boy Band litter) were born to mama Betty (Cattle Dog mix weighing about 28 lbs) on 1/10/25. We think they are mixed with some kind of hound.  Justin is a very good, sweet, happy boy! He can be a bit shy/unsure of new people/dogs at first and will initially bark at them, but he warms up quickly once he gets to know you.  He gets along very well with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys running around and playing with them! He also loves to join his foster family on pack walks and trips to Home Depot, where his foster mom has been taking him to work on socialization. We think Justin would do best in a home with older children 8+ who know to respect a dog's space, or no children.  He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. He could be exactly what you're looking for to make your home feel NSYNC! Apply to meet this darling boy today! Meet Sherlock, a handsome young adult neutered male Cocker Spaniel mix (we suspect he may have some poodle in him as well), weighing about 30 lbs! Sherlock and his brother Watson were sadly dumped in east TN. They were taken in by a Good Samitaran who wanted to help but was unable to keep them. Meet Sugar, a sweet and fluffy ~2-4 year old spayed female spitz/Pomeranian mix, weighing about 13 lbs! Sugar was sadly surrendered to animal control when her elderly owner passed away. We took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home while she waits to find her new furever family.  This pretty girl is a bit on the timid/shy side, but she warms up quickly once she knows you are safe. She is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. From Sugar's current foster:  "Sugar is just the best dog. It’s going to be a tough goodbye when she eventually gets adopted. I took her with me to a friends house for Thanksgiving dinner. She wowed them! Absolutely perfect house manners, so sweet, and she did her twirling dance for them. While sad, I’m hoping she finds her perfect forever home." She is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine), and crate trained. Meet Buttons, a SUPER sweet 2-3 year old female mixed breed dog, weighing about 14 lbs! Photos make this girl look bigger than she is (you know what they say about the camera adding 10 lbs 😆), but she is actually quite petite! Buttons is the mama to Ribbon, Ruffles, and Zipper.    Buttons was picked up as a stray in east TN when she was heavily pregnant. She came to us in awful shape with demodox mange/dermatitis and double ear infections. She gave birth to 9 puppies on 8/24/2025, 2 of which were sadly stillborn. 4 of the remaining 7 babies passed within days of birth (likely due to mama Button’s poor health and lack of nutrients/care during the majority of her pregnancy 😢). The three surviving pups - Ribbon, Ruffles, and Zipper - have absolutely THRIVED and have grown into fat, healthy puppies! 🥰 This little family has arrived in New England and are now ready to find their furever homes!    Buttons still has some skin issues that are being treated topically and orally (we suspect allergies and/or an autoimmune disease), but she looks SO much better than she did a few months ago! Her hair is growing back in and is less patchy, although her neck and face are still bare. The hair on the top of her head is coming back in slowly. She wears clothes to stop her from itching/irritating her skin, and she doesn’t mind wearing the clothes one bit! She will likely require continued medicated baths and possibly ongoing medication to keep her comfortable and not itchy.    Buttons is a lovebug who enjoys attention and will let you do anything to her - she does not object to medication, being dressed in clothes, really anything at all! She is very friendly girl who loves making new friends! She is good with other dogs but can be a little jealous and wants to be the center of your attention. Good with dog savvy cats (she will chase if they run but will otherwise ignore them). She loves to play with toys and walks great on leash.   She is medically up to date (awaiting her spay appointment now that she is done nursing and her skin has healed - she will be spayed prior to adoption), housebroken, and crate trained. Meet Alpha, a super sweet adult neutered male Cairn terrier/small terrier mix! This adorable scruffy boy is currently overweight at about 28 lbs, we are working on getting him to a healthier weight (22-25 lbs would be a better range for him).  When he was originally taken into rescue in east TN, the vet estimated his age at 2-4 years. We now think he may be older than this, although we are unsure of his actual age. He has some stiffness in his rear legs and he hops around a little funny (possibly age related arthritis or an old injury - likely exacerbated by his weight). This doesn't stop him one bit though, he gets around just fine and has no problem with stairs. He loves walks and spending time outside, but he is a lower energy guy and does not require a ton of exercise. Alpha is a friendly boy who loves people! He is happy as can be when he is by your side, he loves to nap on the couch or by your feet and is a wonderful companion. Ear scratches are his favorite! He also loves to play with toys! He generally does well with other dogs, however he can be dog selective. He tends to do best with other lower energy, mellow dogs who give him space. He has been cat tested and does fine with dog savvy cats, he ignores them.  We think Alpha would do best in a calm home with older children 12+ who know to respect a dogs space, or no children.  He is medically up to date, crate trained, and housebroken. Meet Gretchen, a beautiful ~2-3 year old female German Wirehaired Pointer mix, weighing about 38 lbs! Gretchen is the loving mama of the Oktoberfest litter, born on 10/29/2025. Gretchen was picked up as a stray in east TN when she was heavily pregnant. She was placed in a foster home, and she gave birth shortly afterwards to 8 adorable pups! Mama and pups are now in New England, and the pups are starting to head off to their furever homes now that they are old enough. Gretchen is ready to retire from mama duties and find a furever home of her own! 💕  Gretchen is a very sweet, loving dog who is friendly and loves meeting new people! She is great with all people and kids. She just wants to be pet and loved on - we think she probably hasn't gotten much love and attention until recently, and now that she has gotten a taste of it, she is ALL about it! 💗 She does well with other dogs, although she can be a little jealous at times, she does adjust well and is BFFs with her golden retriever foster sister. She is also good with cats!  From Gretchen's current foster:  "Gretchen is a sweet, loving pup who only wants to give and get love. She loves attention and is your best friend if you allow her. She is a morning pup who enjoy sitting next to you eating a bone while you enjoy your cup of coffee. She gets so excited to be included. Amazing on a leash for walks, runs and gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids. She has energy to play fetch which is a new skill she’s just picking up after pups were weaned off.  She is not timid at all, even when meeting for the first time, brand new people she goes right up to give kisses and sniffs, tail wagging the whole time. She is proud to show you how she can run and chase after her ball.  Knows how to read the room when you are sitting doing work she enjoys laying on her bed or next to you, or cuddling with my dog. She is a dog so it is only natural for her to bark when outdoors, people pass, but only to get the attention for someone to pet her and say hi.  Gretchen is so sweet, and kind with her big brown eyes. She has grown tremendously and I could not be more proud of her." Gretchen is medically up to date (awaiting her spay appointment in January), housebroken, and crate trained. Meet Zeus, a handsome 8 year old neutered male Corgi, weighing approx. 30 lbs! Zeus was surrendered to PRL through no fault of his own, due to significant changes in his owner's living situation. He has been loved and well cared for, and the owner chose to surrender him to a rescue to ensure he would be safe and would go to a good home.  Zeus is a friendly boy who does well with other dogs. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. His previous owner has stated that he tends to be a little nervous around small children, so older children 10+ or adults only would be best. His TN foster reports that Zeus has been an easy foster and a very good boy. And he loves car rides!  Zeus is medically up to date and housebroken. A 100% good doggo! Apply to meet this special boy today! **Zeus will not be available until our 12/14/25 adoption event at Petco in Dayville, CT. We are accepting applications on him now! We will prioritize applicants who are able to attend the 12/14 event. If Zeus is not adopted at the event, we will move on to other applicants.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Meet the Oktoberfest Litter! 🐾 These 8 ADORABLE pups were born to mama Gretchen (32 lb German Wirehaired Pointer mix - found as a stray in east TN when she was heavily pregnant) on 10/29/2025. We are unsure what Dad is, but we expect them to grow to medium sized dogs. Mama Gretchen will be available soon as well (she still needs to be spayed once she stops nursing and her milk has dried up).  Johann (black collar) is a male puppy. He has gorgeous coloring - white with black ticking. Such a super cutie! 🥰  He is a typical happy, friendly puppy who is good with everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. Johann is medically up to date (age appropriate) and is so excited to embark on his next adventure - finding his furever family! ❤️ Apply to meet this sweetie today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Salem, a super cute 3 month old male mixed breed puppy! Our best guess is lab/terrier mix, and we expect him to grow to a medium sized dog. Salem has a light brown coat and the prettiest light eyes! 👀  The Halloween litter sadly had a rough start, as their mom was shot and killed for going after the neighbor's chickens when her pups were just 1 week old. 😔 The orphaned litter of 7 puppies was taken into rescue and placed with our amazing TN neonatal foster mama, who did everything she could to give them a fighting chance. Sadly, 4 of the 7 babies did not make it, however the remaining 3 boys (Salem, Jack (O'Lantern), and Zero) have absolutely thrived! They have arrived in New England and are now ready to put their tragic pasts behind them and find furever homes of their own! 💗  Salem is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. Salem is a little more shy than his brother Zero, but he warms up quickly! He is medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and working on housebreaking. Meet Negan! Negan is a very handsome ~9 month old neutered male hound/shepherd mix pup! He currently weighs about 45 lbs and is likely mostly done growing (he may still fill out a little more). Negan is a sweet, friendly boy who is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  He is an energetic, playful pup who enjoys romping around in the yard with his human and/or doggo friends! He would love to join a family with another young, playful dog to keep him company, but he would also do fine as an only dog, as long as he gets adequate physical/mental stimulation. He is a smart boy and is very food motivated!  This super cutie is medically up-to-date, housebroken, and crate trained. A 100% good doggo! Meet Bambi, the SUPER sweet mama of the Bambi litter pups (Faline, Owl, Thumper, Mr. Mole, Flower, Aunt Ena, and Mrs. Possum)! Bambi and her newborn pups were found in a field in east TN while farmers were mowing. This little family was taken into rescue and placed in a loving foster home. They are now in CT and puppies are ready to start going to their furever homes. Bambi is ready to retire from her mama duties and find a furever home of her own as well! Bambi is a young mama, approximately 1-2 years old. She weighs about 40 lbs, we think she is an Australian Cattle Dog/shepherd mix. She is extremely sweet and loving and has been an amazing and attentive mom! She is a friendly, easy going girl who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids (not cat tested). She is medically up to date (awaiting her spay appointment now that her milk is mostly dried up), housebroken, and crate trained. Meet Pugsley, a ~3 month old male lab/terrier mix puppy! We expect him to grow to a medium/large dog.  Pugsley, his sister Wednesday, and mama Morticia were picked up as strays by animal control in east TN (there was also a third puppy, who was adopted from animal control). This little family spent several days at an overcrowded kill shelter and their stray hold was up, which meant they were at risk of euthanasia 😢 Fortunately, we were able to find a foster to take them in, and they were pulled from the shelter in the nick of time.  These cuties will be arriving in CT on 12/13, and we are accepting applications on them now!  Pugsley is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Meet Rocky, a super cute 3-4 year old neutered male dachshund mix! This little guy weighs about 14 lbs, but he packs a lot of personality into his small size! Rocky is a happy, friendly boy who gets along well with other dogs, cats, people, and kids (older kids 8+ recommended, as he is an energetic little guy and may unintentionally knock over a small child).  From Rocky's current foster:  "Rocky is a happy, wiggly snugglebug who loves everyone he meets. He is fully potty trained and crate trained, and he settles nicely once he has had a little playtime. Rocky enjoys toys and playing with other dogs, and he has been respectful of cats in the home. Because he is such a playful guy, he would likely do best with older kids who can match his energy. If you are looking for a fun buddy who doubles as a couch cuddler, Rocky is your guy!" Apply to meet this good boy today!  **Rocky will not be available until our 12/14/25 adoption event at Petco in Dayville, CT. We are accepting applications on him now!
