Meet the Highway 68 litter: Genesis, Livingston, Miller, Lantana, Maryetta, Pomona, and Pevine!  One of the siblings (Livingston) completed a DNA test, and the results came back as 54% poodle, 12% Australian Cattle Dog, and 10% German Shepherd (see full results in photos). All of the pups in this litter have scruffy coats except for Miller (he has a flat coat - with a little bit of a beard). We expect them to grow to medium sized dogs.  These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Miller is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and is a very sweet, smart boy! From Miller's current foster:  "We have been allowed to love this sweet pup Miller for 3 months now. When he first  came to us he was afraid of everything. Was not potty trained or crate trained. Had no idea of how to walk on a leash. He has become amazing. He is almost potty trained. Is completely crate trained. Loves to take mile walks. Still nervous about strangers but doing much better. He is the best puppy. So sweet and just loves his people. Gets along with all dogs. Hoping he will find his perfect family. He is truly a great dog we love him so much!" He is medically up to date (age appropriate) and mostly housebroken. Apply to meet this sweet boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Ralphie, your dream dog! Ralphie is an approximately 2-3 yr old neutered male doxie/lab mix (he's got short legs!), weighing about 35 lb.  He loves to sleep with his humans and cuddle. He sleeps on his belly with his back legs all stretched out! He has done well with the people, dogs, and cats that he’s met. His ideal home isn’t too particular - just someone/a family who would love nothing more than to pet and snuggle him… I mean, who wouldn’t want to do that with this cutie?! If he could be described in one word, it would be “precious.” Don’t miss out on this guy!! He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this handsome guy today! Meet Shimmer, a super sweet 5-6 year old spayed female chihuahua! She is a tiny gal, weighing about 6 lbs. Shimmer was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of whom were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Shimmer is now in New England and ready to find her furever home! Shimmer is a "tripawd", she is missing the lower portion of her back left leg. We don't know how she lost her leg as she came into rescue in this condition, but it does not stop her one bit! She runs and jumps around just fine and she does a cute little hop. From Shimmer's current foster: "Shimmer is a very timid, nervous girl who takes time to warm up to new people. She has not had the best life, but she is learning that people can be kind and not so scary. She needs someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will let her come to them on her own terms. Once you earn her trust, she is an absolute sweetheart and will take treats from your hand and give gentle kisses. Shimmer LOVES other dogs and feels most safe around them (she prefers dogs who are mellow like her). Her current BFF is her 70 lb lab mix foster brother, who she snuggles next to and on top of! 🥰 She is good with cats as well. Shimmer is a special girl who deserves a second chance and a true furever home"  Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space, or no kids. Shimmer is medically up to date, crate trained, and working on pee pad training. Apply to meet this darling girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Sadie, a gorgeous 4 year old spayed female hound mix, weighing about 40 lbs! This long legged girl looks like she may have some greyhound or whippet in her.   Sadie is a sweet girl who can be a bit timid at first, but she warms up quickly.  She is good with other dogs (she was fostered in TN with 3 other dogs and she got along well with all of them), people, and kids. She also does well with dog savvy cats. Sadie loves going in the yard and playing, and then snuggling on the couch for a nap. She is a big time snuggle bug!  Sadie is always ready to hop in the car for an adventure - especially if it's somewhere that she can run around with other pups! They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Frosty is now in New England and ready to find her furever home!  Frosty is a shy girl and takes time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is a very sweet girl! She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Frosty is medically up to date, pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. Apply to meet this darling girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

**This dog is eligible for the April Adopt-a-Thon promo! Listed adoption fee will be reduced by $200 for all eligible dogs adopted by 4/30/25.** Meet Darcy, a 9 week old female mixed breed puppy! Darcy is one of the D litter pups (Drake, Daisy, Darcy, Duchess, Dominick, and Demeter), born on 1/31/25. Sadly, their mom was hit by a car and killed when they were just 4 days old 😢 We think they are mixed with some kind of hound, and we expect them to grow to medium sized dogs. Darcy is a typical happy, friendly puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. From her current foster:  "Darcy is a super cute, super sweet peanut of a girl. Shows no interest in the cats and likes the dogs but gets a little more nervous around them at first. She loves to cuddle and is very inquisitive!" Meet Herman, a super cute 1 year old neutered male Eskimo spitz mix! He is a small guy weighing about 20 lbs. Herman is a friendly pup who gets along with other dogs (with proper intro), people, and older kids 8+ or dog savvy kids (due to the fact that he is still a bit puppy like and can be mouthy - he may unintentionally hurt a small child). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is a playful boy who enjoys playing with his person and other dogs with similar energy. From Herman's current foster: "This sweet guy is a total cuddlebug who thrives on affection and companionship. Whether you're hosting a backyard barbecue or enjoying a quiet movie night, Herman is just happy to be part of the action. He’s super friendly, gets along with everyone he meets, and easily matches your energy — whether you're out for a jog or curled up on the couch. Herman is also delightfully quiet... until he decides it’s time to sing! That’s right — he doesn’t bark, he sings! His melodic "roos" are his way of expressing his big emotions, with chart-topping hits like “Stop Working and Look at Me” and “Why Are All the Other Dogs Barking?” If you're looking for a cheerful, affectionate, and hilariously musical companion, Herman is your guy. Come meet him and get ready to fall in love!" Herman is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (may take some time to get used to a new environment/routine) and crate trained. Meet Dodger, the sweetest little wallflower. Dodger is an approx. 1 year old spayed female kelpie/terrier mix! She's the perfect size, not too big and not too small, weighing around 30-35lbs. Dodger is a timid girl who takes some time to warm up to new people. Once she knows you are safe, she is a love! She loves scratches and belly rubs. She gets along well with other dogs and dog savvy cats too! Due to her shy nature, we recommend older kids 8+ who know how to respect a dog's space (or no kids). From Dodger's current foster: "Dodger is a gentle soul with the softest eyes and an even softer heart. She's a quiet, tender girl who is learning that the world isn't so scary after all - with a little patience, kindness, and (let's be honest) ground turkey! Though she was reserved at first and still scurries off if you move too quickly, Dodger has made beautiful progress every single day. Once she trusts you, she'll claim her favorite cozy spot nearby and roll over for belly rubs like it's her love language. She finds comfort in the company of a few special humans and friendly dogs, and will thrive in a peaceful environment where she can feel safe. She's food motivated, sweet-natured, and full of quiet charm. She's not looking for the spotlight, just a calm home where she can blossom at her own pace and be cherished for the loving little companion she truly is."
