Meet the Astrology litter: Capricorn, Pisces, Aries, and Aquarius! These adorable 4 boys were born to mama Sadie on 9/20/24, and the whole family is now ready to find their furever homes! They are Dachshund mixes and are expected to stay small (mama weighs about 10 lbs). Aquarius is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids (8+ due to small size). He is medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and working on housebreaking. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow to be wonderful dogs. Apply to meet this super cute boy today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Speckle, a super sweet 1 year old spayed female Catahoula/terrier mix! She weighs about 40 lbs and is full grown. She was very underweight when she was picked up as a stray in east TN and taken into rescue, she has gained some weight but still needs to put on a little more. She has a beautiful red merle coat and light green eyes. Photos do not do this girl justice!  Speckle is shy and nervous at first, but she warms up with some patience (and some treats) and is very friendly and loving once she knows she can trust you! This sweet girl has a youthful spirit and is happy and playful! Speckle is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ (because she is young and exuberant and may unintentionally knock over a small child). She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. From Speckle's current foster: "Speckle enjoys playing with other dogs, but she also enjoys being with humans and would love to hang all day with them if she could. She has a happy energy level, but not out of control. She loves to give hugs, sleeps through the night, and hasn't had any accidents in the house. She is the sweetest girl with golden eyes." Speckle medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweetheart today!  show less

"A Heart Reborn" Selina, a beautiful 4-5 year old spayed female with the most gorgeous Merle coloring, was found abandoned in a crate near Tolland, CT. We believe she is a Papillon/long haired chihuahua mix. Despite her painful past, Selina's resilient spirit shines through. She's now in a loving foster home, slowly learning to trust again.  Selina's fears and uncertainties are a reminder of her complex history.  As a result, she's developed defense mechanisms to cope with strangers and new environments. She may bark and hide when scared, but with patience and love, she's beginning to open up. Her timid nature hides a deep desire for connection and affection.  To provide Selina with a happy life, we seek a calm and gentle environment. Her ideal home would feature patient owners who understand her fears and needs. A household with older kids or adults only would be perfect for this sweet girl. Selina is a gentle soul who gets along with other dogs, provided she's introduced slowly. She's pee pad trained and working on outdoor potty training. With time and patience, Selina will become a loving companion.  Apply now to give Selina the love and security she deserves.  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Tripp, a special ~1 year old neutered male mini poodle, weighing about 10 lbs! Born to mama Bessie on June 4, 2024, Dottie is one of the "7 Cowgirl Puppies." DNA testing on her sister confirms their primary breeds as  Australian Cattle Dog, Rat Terrier, and Australian Shepherd, with mom's small stature and presumed Aussie Shepherd mix dad suggesting Dottie will grow into a medium-sized dog.  From Dottie's current foster: "Dottie (or Lil’ Bit as her foster mom calls her) has blossomed lately. This bouncy little circus dog may look like a a full grown terrier but she’s actually still just a pup who is an amusing mix of smart, active breeds. She quickly masters food puzzles and is working on fetch. She sleeps through the night in her crate and is happy as long as you are nearby. She’s still mastering the art of house training but with consistency she should get the hang of it soon. She would love a doggy sibling who can match her energy and a family that is ready to exercise her mentally and physically. Once she’s done playing, Dottie likes to crash in your lap (she’s on the petite side)." She loves to wrestle, play tug of war and grab anything that isn't nailed to the floor if that means you'll play. Very smart. Already knows "sit", "come", and learning "lay". Her favorite toy is a tug squid and a small ball.  Mama Dorris was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN when she was very heavily pregnant - poor Dorris looked like she was about to pop! Paws Rescue League took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home, where she went into labor and began giving birth during the evening hours of 9/29. Dorris was able to deliver the first 3 babies on her own, but baby #4 got stuck, so her experienced foster mom loaded her up to the vet for a C section. The vet was able to pull out baby #4, however it was stillborn 😢 The final 3 babies were delivered via C section (mama was also spayed following the C section). One other baby did not make it, but the surviving 5 pups (the "Little Piggie" litter) have grown into chubby, healthy puppies who are almost ready for their furever homes! Porky is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! She is good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, when properly trained/socialized, will grow into wonderful dogs. Porky is medically up to date (age appropriate) and will be ready for her furever home once she turns 8 weeks old (11/25). We are accepting applications on her now! Apply to meet this sweet little piggy today! Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Echo, a handsome 1 year old neutered male lab/terrier mix, weighing about 40 lbs! This sweet boy was in terrible shape when he was picked up as a stray in east TN, he was badly emaciated. He has spent a couple months in a loving foster home, where he has learned to be a dog and has put on some much needed weight. He is now ready to find his furever home! Echo is a very happy, friendly boy who loves everyone! He is a huge snuggle bug! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids (we do recommend older kids 8+, as he can be a bit exuberant and may unintentionally knock over a small child). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is medically up to date, housebroken (with a dog door), and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet boy today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat.
