Carmela  is a 20 month old female terrier mix, who was found as a stray, at 15 weeks old. She was at Animal Control with only a couple days before she would be euthanized for space. Paws Rescue League Inc, took her into our rescue, and placed her into a loving foster home. We immediately realized this sweet girl was very sick, and not eating. We brought her to the vet where she tested positive for the terrible disease Parvovirus. Carmela was hospitalized for a week while she fought for her life a THIRD time in her VERY young life!  She survived being tossed out on the street like trash, she survived being at the kill shelter, and she now survived Parvo!     This AMAZING girl has beat the odds stacked against her, with the love and care provided to her by our amazing volunteers, and parterning Vets in TN!   Carmela is now looking for a FURever family, where she can live the life she deserves, surrounded by people who love her!  She is an INCREDBILE dog, who is sweet, loving temperament, who gets along with dogs, cats, children and all people. She would make a wonderful addition to most families!    She is mostly housebroken, she may have an accidnet the first day or two when adjusting to a new environment, and routine. She is also crate trained, and knows a few basic commands. Her foster parents, and other volunteers, and vet staff who treated her parvo, only have amazing things to say, about how sweet, gentle, loving this darling is!    Now that she has fully recovered, and is completely heathy and ready for a home, she is looking forward to finding her FAMILY!      Carmela is not yet fixed, but will be paid for by Paws Rescue League Inc.   New England - adoption fee is $650, which includes all vet/medical care (Spay, 3 Dhpplv vaccinations, Bordatella vaccine, corona virus vaccine, parvo treatment, Heartworm testing, heartworm and flea and tick preventatives, fecal testing, microchip, microchip annual registration, and transportation)  Tennessee - adoption fee is $285  - which includes all vet/medical care (Spay, 3 Dhpplv vaccinations, Bordatella vaccine, corona virus vaccine, parvo treatment, Heartworm testing, heartworm and flea and tick preventatives, fecal testing, microchip, microchip annual registration) show less

Jagger came to Paws Rescue League Inc, when we were asked by a fellow rescue to take him on, as they are full.  He is a 2.5-3 year old Cocker Spaniel, with a gorgeous curly white and brown coat, with adorable floppy ears,( all dogs with floppy ears can be prone to ear infections, due to their ear structure). Jagger weighs 35.4lbs and is full grown, he wont get any larger.  Jagger is a sweet boy, who needs a patient family a he is a bit skiddish of men, but he is good with women and children. He is good with dogs, and very dog saavy cats. He lived with an indoor cat and paid no mind to her, but he will chase outdoor cats. Jagger needs to be walked on leash, he is a flight risk, and does not have good recall. He was not housebroken when we took him in, we have been working on it with him, and having him wear belly bands inside the house. He will need a family who is 100% willing to continue working with him to get him fully housebroken. Jagger LOVES tennis balls, and if one rolls under furniture he wont give up until he gets it. So we do suggest to only allow tennis balls outdoors. Jagger has a favorite blanket that he adores, and sleeps on all the time, that will go with him to help him transition into a new home.  He is 100% worth the time and effort, he is a wonderful dog who will love you and do his best to please his owners.  show less

Note from Frode's foster family: Fode is a very dog that would do well with an at home companion. He exhibits independent an attitude, much like a husky does at times. However, he loves to be right next to his person, touching if possible when relaxing. He does very well in a crate, and has never damaged anything in the house besides his puzzle food mat.  He is cratetrained as mentioned before, and housetrained. He did have a couple of accidents in our first couple days together. However, both times were due to him drinking too much water at night, and the last 4 weeks hes been accident free, I would say to expect a few accidents while he transitions to a new routine, but that is standard for ALL dogs. He is very good natured with other dogs, loves to play with other dogs. He loves people, and readily introduces himself to clients in my gym, and anyone he meets. I would not suggest cats with Frode though he did do well walking past cat kennels, I also dont think small kids would be ideal, only due to his size, he is a 70+ lb puppy, and may still grow a bit more; He's very graceful for his size, he has awesome agility, and will use it to dodge you, as he is careful to not bump into you..  Had one escape incident, not caused by him, but my dog opening the front door. He came back by himself within five minutes before I even notice the door had been opened. As good as he was during this incident, I would NOT suggest off leash until he has built a bond with his new people, and there is mutual trust between his new people and him. His absolute favorite is peanut butter stuffed Kongs!  show less

Pee Wee is an older chihuahua, who was dumped at animal control because she got into a fight with a chicken, and she won. ( So no chickens for this gal!) But who can blame her? She is only about 10lbs and most chickens are taller than her! To Pee Wee that chicken was a raptor with powerful talon and sharp beak! She was only trying to prevent a raptor invasion and protect her family lol!  We feel so bad for Pee Wee, she was so confused at animal control, and just wanted to go home..    Thankfully we were able to take Pee Wee in and place her in a loving foster home until she made her way to New England. Pee Wee arrives in New England this week, and is hoping she can go right to her new home, and not another foster home. She is eager to start her new life, without scary raptor chickens, where she wil be loved, and where her people are proud that she tries to keep scary raptors away! Pee Wee is about 10lbs, and estimated to be 6 years old. She loves her people, and always has a smile on her face. We are not sure how she is with cats. She is good with older kids, who understand shes an older dog.  Pee Wee the sweetheart. That sums her up! She has been surrendered by her owners, in one foster home and now another. She is sooo ready for her forever home! She loves to take her toys and walk around with them and then teases you to take it to play catch. She is not super energetic because she’s a little older (but young at heart) so she is super chill and easy to take care of. There is so much to love in this little girl! She would be a wonderful companion pet. She likes to sleep at foot of bed at night to be close to you. That seems to comfort her to be near her people. She truly is a little sweetheart! show less

Bagel is a happy, goofy young hound mix with a lot of energy! We believe he is a puppy at heart. He is 53 pounds, neutered, heartworm tested (negative), and on heartworm and flea preventative. He was originally dumped at a rural mountain cabin by a couple with addiction issues. He was then dumped at least three more times before the foster picked him up. When the vet neutered him, he had wounds consistent with being kept in a damp environment (such as the mud or in a crate with his own waste). Despite this, he is very affectionate and eager to please his people. Bagel really enjoys his people and would prefer to be with them at all times. If he gets in the car, he loves to stand in the middle and stick his face in the air conditioning. Approximately 8 minutes after meeting his foster person, he was leaning his head against hers as she drove. Personal boundaries are nonexistent with him. At his current foster, he has a doggy friend that is much smaller than him (a Chihuahua mix that is perhaps 20 pounds). The Chihuahua bosses him around and Bagel is just thrilled to have company. He does well in a large crate at night, as long as he has had attention and exercise during the day. The foster makes sure to give him a Kong toy filled with peanut butter as a way to soothe himself to sleep (and of course a night-night biscuit, and lots of soft blankets…though the new bed mysteriously exploded one day. A mystery for the ages!). He has only had 1 accident while in the crate, and this was probably due to it being a hot day and he drank a lot of water right before going in (he was inside for a hot afternoon) Bagel is good with other people, dogs, and kids. He is a little TOO cat friendly and wants to play with cats. Bagel is a very sweet dog who would respond to a family who put the time, training, and attention he very much deserves.
