Rugby is a 4 year old neutered male Australian Shepard mix, he was picked up as a stray with a basset hound mix. TN Law allows stray dogs 3 days to find their owner, or a new family or rescue before they can euthanize (put the dog to sleep), to make space for other stray dogs. Dogs who are brought to the shelter by their owners have 24 hours to find a new home or rescue. TN law allows animal control to euthanize these dogs immediately. Volunteers do their best to share the dogs to find them rescue/home before their time runs out. Rugby was scared at animal control ( who can blame him, its loud, and cold, and nothing familiar). Paws Rescue League pulled him from animal control, to save his life, and give him a chance to find a loving home. Rugby is believed to be about 4 years old, he is full grown at about 50lbs. He is considered a medium sized dog. He is neutered, and Heartworm/4DX negative, as well as medically up to date, and on monthly preventatives. He is good with other dogs, and with children, we do suggest children 8/10 years and up due to his size. He has not been cat tested so we are not sure how he would do with cats. He is very smart and knows, sit, down and give me paw. He is also housebroken. Rugby is currently in a CT foster home, awaiting a family! show less

Houlston is a 7 month old spayed female austrailian shepard, she is also is a double merle, which means she has the double merle gene that can affect a dogs eye sight, and hearing. As well as a diluted ( white, or mostly white) coat. Houlston was found as a stray, which is also how she got her name, she was found by Houlston way in TN. Houlston walks ok on leash and does well in the car, she is crate trained and housebroken, she is great with kids, and all people. She is dog friendly, but dogs larger than her make her nervous She has not been cat tested so we are unsure how she would do with cats. So a home with dogs 30lbs or less is best for Houlston. She is a sweet girl, and a smart girl, aussies are known for being very smart dogs and very trainable. She would love a family who will give her the care and attention she needs, and a fenced in back yard where she can safely play. Houlston arrives on 04/08/2023 and is hoping she can find a FURever home so she doesnt have to be bounced from home to home, and gave to get familar will multiple routines. She is a super sweet girl who deserves a real family who wants to save her! If a FURever home cant be found before she arrives, she will need a foster home. Foster homes are FULL, and we are in desperate need of more foster homes to keep the dogs we save safe. As a foster based rescue, When a dog has no where to go we have no choice but to send the dog back to TN. show less

Janice, Monica, Emma, Emily, and Rachel were being given away by their owner "free to homes", the owner stated they were going to put them in a box and drop the box off at Walmart. We had one of our volunteers go see the puppies and ask about the mom, so we could ask to spay her to prevent future unwanted puppies. We were told mom wasn't available for us to fix. We asked to take in the remaining 5 puppies (originally there were 8), the boys were already given away. We took the 5 females who were left. All the puppies looked heatlhy aside from wormy bellies and not eating nutritious food. Except for Janice, we noticed her face was swollen, and we took the family of 5 puppy sisters and got them to the vet right away. Janice we noticed right away she had some swelling to her face, within a day she had started loosing hair on her face and around her mouth, she went to the vet for tests, to test for mange, infection and allergies, she was cleared for everything but her face continued to get worse, until it was raw, scabby and painful. Janice has been treated, and is recovering amazingly well! This girl would have died in a box behind Walmart had we not took her in. Every person would of turned her down based on the swelling in her face. This sweet loving pup was rescued, and her life saved. Now to complete her rescue journey she needs to find a family to love her, and care for her. With her illness behind her, she only has lots of love to give. Janice is hoping she has a family waiting for her when she arrives to New England on 02/18/2023! She is mostly black, and will grow to be a medium sized dog, Janice is happy go lucky, and gets along great with kids, cats, and dogs, as well as all people! Rummi came to Paws Rescue League when a local Humane society asked us to take him in. He is a 6 month old neutered male border collie mix, who is medically up to date on his annual vaccines, vetting and monthly prevenetatives. He is 90% housebroken, may have the occasional accident while adjusting to a new routine and home. Crate trained, good on leash and in car, he is silly, loving and full of life, he is very sweet and friendly and so far has LOVED every person, child and dog he has met so far. He is about 26lbs, and will probably be a medium sized dog when hes full grown (30-50lbs). He has a cute, fluffy medium leght black coat, and super fuzzy ears that are asking to be pet and scratched. Rummi isnt very picky, he would fit well in most homes, we feel a young couple, or a young family would be perfect for him! either with a fenced in yard, or an active family who will take him on walks, or hikes or adventures would be perfect for him! Rummi arrivesin CT on 04/08/2023, and is in need of a FURever home, a foster home or a foster to adopt home, we are a foster based rescue, who are alreay at MAX capacity, we have ZERO open foster homes. Aramis is a merle male Dachsund/Chi mix "Chewinie". He comes from the same home/family as the many Dachsunds we took in this past winter. Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, the super mario puppies ( Boo, Yoshi, Bowser, Rosalina, Toad, and Toadette), Hellen, Thumbalina, Luigi and Mario. Aramis, and his 2 brothers Athos and Porthos, came to Paws Rescue League, when we helped a family who was over run with dogs, we took in 12 dogs, and found them homes. When we took in those 12 we were told, that "Sadie", a female dog the family wanted to keep was pregnant, and they agreed to have Sadies babies come to rescue once old enough and they agreed to allow Paws Rescue League to fix all the dogs they planned to keep, so they do not continue to reproduce. We have so far fixed 2 females, and unfortunately a 3rd female was extremely ill, so we covered the cost for her to pass peacefully, and for the family to get her ashes. The family has one male dog left who is going in for neuter next week. Sadie had her babies, unfortunately one was given away before they came to rescue. We took in 3 out of 4 of the puppies. We are now arranging to find the best homes for each of the 3 male puppies. They will be arriving in CT on 04/08, and will be ready for their FURever homes. Aramis is an 8.5 week old male Dachsund/Chi, he has a beautiful merle coat, and big doxy ears. He currently weighs about 2lbs, and will be a small dog full grown. Good with dogs of all sizes, cats and kids. Very sweet cuddly and playful, as he is just a young pup. show less

He will give you kisses and always look for you. He is housebroken. At night he can be afraid of the noises so it might take him a littlebit. He is great on the leash and will walk right next to you! Once he is comfortable, he loves to play fetch! He prefers his NylaBones and his tennis ball rope. He knows basic commands but might not if he is feeling nervous. Willow is a 4 year old female chi mix, who came to us as a transfer from an animal control shelter, she is a sweet, curious little girl. She is 4 years old, so she is full grown at 13lbs. She is black and tan with a cute fan tail! She also has one brownish/green eye and one blue eye! She is a cutie for sure, with a personality to match! She was picked up as a stray, wondering around on her own. She was very nervous when she was taken into animal control, but came around quickly, she is doing wonderful in her TN foster home, she gets along well with her foster families pets. She is good with other dogs, cats and children 10 years and up, due to her shyness, and being a chihuahuha :) Willow is spayed, Heartworm, adn 4dx negative, she is medically up to date, and is both crate trained and house broken. She would make a great addition to a quieter home, with another dog, or no dogs, or with cats, and older children. She is ready to find a family, and have a lap to call her own, and get all the love! The Batman Villian girls (beautiful Husky mix pups), were being given away on Craigslist. Their owners no longer wanted them, an accidental litter is what they said. Our foster volunteer went to pick them up, and the 3 girls were infested with fleas, and very dirty, wormy, and appeared to be kept in a small area from the urine stains on them, Our volunteer got them home, got them bathed in dawn 3 times, and combed out as many fleas as possible. The 3 girls were treated for fleas, and worms, and saw a vet to receive age appropriate vetting and vaccines. Selina Kyle is a gorgeous white husky with piercing blue eyes, which are very unique and striking to look at! Selina is a 3 month old female husky mix, maybe mixed with Australian Shepherd . She is healthy and ready to find her FURever home! She is currently under 15lbs, but will be a medium to large breed when full grown, with high energy. Breed experience is prefered, a fenced yard is a must for these 3 femlae pups, due to their breed mix, physical and mental stimulation are very important for their development long term. Selina is working on housebreaking and doing great, she is crate trained and good on leash! She loves all other dogs, is ok with dog savvy cats, and good with kids! Haylee came to Paws Rescue League Inc when the local Humane Society asked if we could take her in, due to both Animal Control and the humane Society being full. Haylee was picked up as a stray, she was microchipped, and when her family was contacted, they didnt want to take her back. They surrendered her to animal control. Haylee then had an adoption lined up, but her new people never showed. At this point she was now OUT OF TIME, and the director of the Humane Society knew we were her last chance at a happy life. We placed her in a loving foster home, and got her spayed, and medically up to date with her annual vaccines and testing. She has done wonderfully in her foster home, and is now ready to make her way to New England! Haylee is a young dog, at about 1 year old, she is assumed to be a husky/shepard mixed breed, both breeds are quite active, and smart. Haylee will require a home that will continue to mentally and physcially stimulate her ( hiking, jogging, training, making her work for meals, etc). Haylee would love a back yard of her own where she can safely and freely run around and play! Haylee is people and children friendly, cat friendly, as well as dog friendly. Haylee currently attends doggy day care and has many doggo friends! She is truly a sweet girl and will make a family very happy! show less

Buddy got his freedom ride out of the shelter a ccuple of weelks ago, and has been in a loving TN foster home while he awaits his Freedom ride up North! Buddy arrives in New England on 03/18/2023! Buddy is a sweet boy who wound up at Animal Control when his owners decided that he just took up too much of their time, and they no longer had the time for him. When he was dumped at the shelter his owners reason was" Not enough time for him, and he has too much energy." ...... He is a Retriever mix. They are playful dogs, who enjoy some activity. His prior family got him as a puppy, and had him for one year and 7 months before they gave up on him. Buddy has sat in the shelter confused to what he did wrong, why his family left him there. We got this sweet boy out of the shelter and into a loving foster home, where he was showered with love and affection. Buddy is dog friendly, and super friendly to people, he is good with kids (we suggest 8 years and up, due to size) Buddy has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would with cats. Valentina is a 2-3 year old lhasa apso/poodle mix ready for her furever home! She is good with other dogs, cats, and kids 10 years and up. She is a very sweet pup, but also can be shy. She is pad trained and housebroken. She walks good on a leash and is also crate trained! Our vet in TN recently had to cancel our appointments. She will be spayed in New England upon arrival! 10 week old spayed female. Lab/Australian Cattle dog mix. Medically UTD, neutered, age appropriate vaccines, and monthly preventatives. Good with all people, children of all ages, as well as all dogs, and cats. Charlotte is just a baby, and ready for a family of her own to love her and teach her! Charlotte is crate trained and working on housebreaking, as well as leash walking. She is a happy go lucky, curious, playful pup who loves to cuddle with her people. Mom, Bebe and her 9 babies were found starving. Momma Bebe did her best to keep all 9 of her babies safe and healthy. Bebe was skin and bones when they were found, what an incredible mom! She is also stunningly pretty! With the face of a lab, and spots of an Australian Cattle dog! We arent sure what dad was, but we do know that some of the puppies are on the smaller side. Charlotte is expected to be about 40lbs full grown. Charlotte is in DESPERATE NEED of a FOSTER HOME or FUREVER HOME BY 04/01/2023!
