Meet Rita, an adorable 10-12 week old female lab mix puppy weighing 10 lbs, with a playful, affectionate, and energetic personality. Despite being abandoned in a laundry basket at a dump in east TN with her two siblings, Rita's life took a dramatic turn when a dedicated TN volunteer was informed of the situation. Sadly, by the time the volunteer arrived, Rita was the only one left. But Rita is now safe and thriving, thanks to her rescuer. This sweet pup loves to play with toys, give kisses, and hang out with humans, and gets along great with dogs, cats, people, and kids of all ages. She's learning to navigate stairs and is making progress with her little puppy legs. Her CT foster raves about her, saying "Rita is the life of the party. She loves playing with her five foster siblings, exploring outdoors, and doing adorable 'sploots.' She's spunky, dances for attention, and spins when she's tired instead of getting up to move - it's the cutest thing! Rita is silly, loving, and deserves the absolute world, won't settle for anything less." Rita is medically up to date, crate trained, and working on housebreaking. With her loving nature, playful spirit, and adaptable personality, she's sure to bring joy to her forever family. Currently in a CT foster home, she's waiting for you to apply and give her the love, snuggles, and forever home she deserves. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Over time, it should fade/shed out but we've not been able to wash it out of her :( This beautiful fluffy girl is good with other dogs, people, and kids. Meet Bre (aka Tillly), a super sweet 1.5 year old spayed female husky/terrier/lab mix, weighing 38 lbs! She is an active girl who would make an excellent hiking and/or running buddy, and would love a fenced in yard of her own to get out all of her zoomies! Sadly, Bre was adopted as a puppy and returned to PRL twice due to her separation anxiety - it was not her fault, it just was not the right fit with either family (although they loved her). We have promised this special girl that we will find the right home for her, and the third time will be the charm!  Bre is an absolute sweetheart who loves her people! She wants to be BFFs with everyone she meets, and she will happily go to people for kisses, cuddles, and belly rubs! She loves kids, but due to her size and excitability, we recommend older kids 8+ (as she may unintentionally knock over a small child). Bre thrives in the company of other four-legged friends and would do best in an active home with a doggo sibling(s) to keep her company. She does have some separation anxiety, which seems to be MUCH better when she is with other dogs vs alone. She would be a great choice for someone who works from home or is able to take their dog to work with them. From Bre's current foster:  "Silly Tilly (formerly known as Bre). She is very pleasant, loving and intelligent. We really lucked out getting another great cuddler! She gets along with everyone very well, loves playing with the pack and is very active. She tells us when she has to go potty and hasn't had any accidents yet. She is the whole package and a must-meet!" Some ABC's of why you should apply for this perfect girl: Adaptable, she fits right in wherever she goes! Beautiful heterochromatic eyes. Cuddle buddy. Dedicated to having a good time. Energizer bunny zoomies. Fast learner. Gentle treat-taker. Happy-go-lucky. Iinspirational (orphaned & returned twice yet still keeping it positive). Just doesn't want to be alone. Knows basic commands. Loves simply being acknowledged. Magnificent mutt: Pit, Husky, Boxer, Sheltie, German Shepherd, Aussie & American English Coonhound. Non-confrontational attitude. Ok with kids (not cat tested but we think she would try to play with one). Playful with EVERY dog she meets. Quiet (hardly ever makes a peep). Resting B**** Face and silly goose are her default facial expressions. Sweetest soft little kisses. Tolerant of different dog personality types. Undercover ginger (her black fur is red in the sun!). Velvety soft ears. Well behaved. eXtroverted towards dogs. Yearns to be outdoors. Zero aggression.  Bre is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Dexter, a loving ~2 year old neutered male Staffy/bully mix, weighing about 64 lbs. This sweet, gentle boy was rescued from horrific conditions in East Tennessee, where he was forced to live outdoors on a short lead with no shelter, starving and malnourished. A Good Samaritan stepped in, nursing him back to health, and now Dexter is ready to find his forever home. Despite his past, Dexter has blossomed into a happy, friendly boy who loves everyone he meets! He is great with dogs, cats, people, and kids, and has even thrived in doggie daycare, playing nicely with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. His TN foster describes Dexter as a total lover who adores snuggling, especially at night (she also says he has a hilarious snore! 😴). He enjoys swimming, playing fetch, and going on walks, showing zero reaction to other people or dogs passing by. Dexter is also besties with his foster cat sibling and is amazing with children, handling the chaos with ease. From Dexters's CT foster:  "Dexter loves people, children, cats, other dogs, chew toys, walks, riding in the car, naps, cuddling with his humans, swimming, eating, and playing fetch!  Some fun facts Dexter wants you to know about him: 'I am super smart! I know how to come when you call me, sit, give paw, and lie down AND I am fully housebroken! I'm a good boy even when my humans have to go away for periods of time, but my favorite place to be is where you are. I really love having company. I came from a bad situation of neglect in TN and I didn't get fed, my foster family introduced me to beef brisket & vanilla ice cream and they are my FAVORITE! I LOVE to eat and am very treat motivated!' " Dexter is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained (he does require crating when left alone due to occasional chewing). With his loving nature and adaptability, Dexter would thrive in a forever home with a family who can provide patience, love, and stability.  Apply today to meet this special boy and give him the happy ending he deserves! Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Oliver, a dashing 11-month-old neutered male Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix with a stunning long-haired blue Merle coat! This 14-pound sweetheart is a happy, friendly boy who gets along with everyone - dogs, cats, people, and kids. While he might take a little time to warm up to strangers, Oliver's loving nature shines through once you get to know him. From his CT foster: "His personality is starting to shine! He loves snuggling, bellyrubs, being carried around, all toys, playing fetch, getting scratched behind the ears, following you around, humans and all dogs, and playing with his favorite toy which is a plastic donut. He's not a huge fan of walking on a leash but tolerates it to do his business outside. He is a velcro dog for sure and must be with me at all times, he cries if I'm not in his line of sight. He even manages to squeeze himself under my desk while I'm working to be closer to me. He also gets nervous around quick movements." This adorable pup thrives on attention and affection, making him a perfect companion for someone who'll shower him with love. Medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained, Oliver is ready to bring joy and snuggles to his forever home. *SNUGGLE ALERT!*  Bristol, a vibrant ~2 year old terrier/lab mix, is a bundle of love and energy waiting to enrich your life! This sweet 45-pound spayed female adores people, children, and snuggles, making her the perfect companion for an active family or individual. She is very friendly and loves other dogs! She also does well with dog savvy cats.  Bristol thrives on human interaction and loves being close to her people. Due to her exuberant nature, we recommend older kids 8+ or dog-savvy kiddos (she means no harm and does not have a mean bone in her body, however she may unintentionally knock over a small child).  Bristol walks well on leash and is doggie door trained. She is a quick learner, eager to please, and loves belly rubs and showering her family with kisses! A fenced-in yard would be her dream come true, where she can unleash her signature "zoomies" and adorable "tippy-toes" running style.  Bristol has been in foster care for nearly a year now and is really hoping to find her furever home soon <3  Apply to meet this sweet, special girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
