Meet Porky, one of the "Little Piggy" puppies 🐷, born to mama Dorris! Porky is a female beagle/hound mix, expected to grow to a small to medium sized dog.  Porky is a bombastic, fun, and curious pup. She loves to wrestle, play tug of war and grab anything that isn't nailed to the floor if that means you'll play. Very smart. Already knows "sit", "come", and learning "lay". Her favorite toy is a tug squid and a small ball.  Mama Dorris was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN when she was very heavily pregnant - poor Dorris looked like she was about to pop! Paws Rescue League took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home, where she went into labor and began giving birth during the evening hours of 9/29. Dorris was able to deliver the first 3 babies on her own, but baby #4 got stuck, so her experienced foster mom loaded her up to the vet for a C section. The vet was able to pull out baby #4, however it was stillborn 😢 The final 3 babies were delivered via C section (mama was also spayed following the C section). One other baby did not make it, but the surviving 5 pups (the "Little Piggie" litter) have grown into chubby, healthy puppies who are almost ready for their furever homes! Porky is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! She is good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, when properly trained/socialized, will grow into wonderful dogs. Porky is medically up to date (age appropriate) and will be ready for her furever home once she turns 8 weeks old (11/25). We are accepting applications on her now! Apply to meet this sweet little piggy today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Echo, a handsome 1 year old neutered male lab/terrier mix, weighing about 40 lbs! This sweet boy was in terrible shape when he was picked up as a stray in east TN, he was badly emaciated. He has spent a couple months in a loving foster home, where he has learned to be a dog and has put on some much needed weight. He is now ready to find his furever home! Echo is a very happy, friendly boy who loves everyone! He is a huge snuggle bug! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids (we do recommend older kids 8+, as he can be a bit exuberant and may unintentionally knock over a small child). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is medically up to date, housebroken (with a dog door), and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet boy today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. A Journey of Resilience and Love: The beautiful Morel (also known as Peggy), is an 11-month-old Dachshund mix, whose spirit has overcome incredible adversity. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morel's path to happiness has been paved with challenges, but her resilience shines brighter. In her past, Morel had to fight for every scrap of food, leading to resource guarding. But with patience, love, and training, she's learning to trust and share. Her current foster reports remarkable progress, as she now eats alongside her foster sister without issue.  Morel is being fostered with a puppy who gets very excited to play with her, and Morel will correct her behavior, but for the most part, they rough house while being carefully monitored.  Despite her tumultuous past, Morel exhibits no aggression toward cats, demonstrating her capacity for harmony and coexistence.  Morel seeks a compassionate individual or couple willing to understand her unique needs, and to continue training and socialization. In return, Morel promises unwavering loyalty, cuddles, and joyful companionship. Due to her rough beginnings, she is looking for a home without young children.  Morel is medically up to date, partially housebroken, and crate trained. Hi! I'm Tutto, but I'm also known as Jax. I'm so adorable because my mom was a beagle mix and my dad was a basset hound. So, I'm not too big, or too small, but I'm just the right size.  I was adopted when I was 12 weeks old, but my new person decided they didn't have time for me anymore, so they returned me to Paws Rescue League. I don't know why she didn't want me... I'm a really good boy. I am not a barker, I get along with everyone I meet, and I'm pretty darn good at cuddling, if I don't say so myself. I'm medically up to date, crate trained, and potty trained - no accidents at all! My new CT foster mom says I'm really an excellent dog.  Please put in an application to meet me - I think you'll love me! Meet Bennie, a super sweet ~4 year old neutered male chihuahua mix, weighing about 12 lbs. This little guy is shy and nervous at first, but he warms up quickly and is an absolute love bug who loves to give kisses! He is good with other dogs and good with people. We recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his small size and his shyness). He has been exposed to a cat in his foster home, and loves to play with her - would be fine with dog savvy cats/cats that enjoy playing. From Bennie's current foster: "Bennie has been an absolutely joy in the home. Although he took an hour or so to warm up to me, once you've gained his trust, you will be gifted a lifetime of snuggles and kisses. This boy is as sweet as pie, and his new home will be so lucky to have him. He is so affectionate, loves to play with toys (will grab them on his own to occupy himself), he's smart, and he sleeps great through the night! He is potty trained, but does happy pee a little when you return home because he is excited to see you. He is super fast and loves to play fetch! He would love a fenced in yard so he could sprint around and play all day. Bennie is going to make his new family so happy!!" Bennie is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. In honor of Black Dog Day, the adoption fee has been reduced for this dog by $150 through 10/31/24 from the adoption fee listed below! Bindi is an incredible girl! With her stunning amber eyes and her shiny black coat, she's a girl you want to meet! She is only a year old, spayed, and a manageable 45 lbs. She is full grown and will not get any bigger. She is a friendly girl who loves to meet new people! She has a cute full body wiggle that she does when she is excited (which is often!). She still has a good amount of puppy energy and would do well in an active home. She would make a great running or hiking buddy! Bindi loves kids, but we recommend dog savvy kids that know how to be around an active dog. She is very sweet and loving, loves to be close to her people and give kisses!  Bindi is selectively good with other dogs (for some reason she doesn't seem to like fluffy dogs at the moment... nothing terrible, but she doesn't want to interact with them). Of the dogs she get to play with she LOVES to play with them, but she likes to play rough so would do best with another robust dog like herself that likes to wrestle. She does best with other young, high energy dogs with a similar play style and similar size or larger than her. She also does best with submissive dogs. She is too interested in kitties, so no feline friends for this girl.  Some of Bindi's favorite things are BONES, squeaky toys, and belly rubs. She is a good girl who has had a lot of training and is ready to be a great dog for any active home.  Bindi is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. She's the complete package!  Apply to meet this darling girl today! show less
