Meet Potato, a ~7 year old spayed female cocker spaniel mix. Potato was taken in with Magic and they were both in bad shape, but with some time and love, they have really blossomed. This senior gal is blind in one eye and partially blind in the other, but she has plenty of life left in her. She is now ready to find a furever home to live out the rest of her days! Potato is good with other dogs and people. Due to her age and partial blindness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. She is medically up to date and is housebroken with a dog door. Apply to meet this sweet senior lady today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Wilbur, one of the "Little Piggy" puppies 🐷, born to mama Dorris! Wilbur is a male beagle/hound mix, expected to grow to a medium sized dog.  Mama Dorris was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN when she was very heavily pregnant - poor Dorris looked like she was about to pop! Paws Rescue League took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home, where she went into labor and began giving birth during the evening hours of 9/29. Dorris was able to deliver the first 3 babies on her own, but baby #4 got stuck, so her experienced foster mom loaded her up to the vet for a C section. The vet was able to pull out baby #4, however it was stillborn 😢 The final 3 babies were delivered via C section (mama was also spayed following the C section). One other baby did not make it, but the surviving 5 pups (the "Little Piggie" litter) have grown into chubby, healthy puppies who are almost ready for their furever homes! Wilbur is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! He is good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Meet Echo, a handsome 1 year old neutered male lab/terrier mix, weighing about 40 lbs! This sweet boy was in terrible shape when he was picked up as a stray in east TN, he was badly emaciated. He has spent a couple months in a loving foster home, where he has learned to be a dog and has put on some much needed weight. He is now ready to find his furever home! A Journey of Resilience and Love: The beautiful Morel (also known as Peggy), is an 11-month-old Dachshund mix, whose spirit has overcome incredible adversity. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morel's path to happiness has been paved with challenges, but her resilience shines brighter. In her past, Morel had to fight for every scrap of food, leading to resource guarding. But with patience, love, and training, she's learning to trust and share. Her current foster reports remarkable progress, as she now eats alongside her foster sister without issue.  Morel is being fostered with a puppy who gets very excited to play with her, and Morel will correct her behavior, but for the most part, they rough house while being carefully monitored.  Despite her tumultuous past, Morel exhibits no aggression toward cats, demonstrating her capacity for harmony and coexistence.  Morel seeks a compassionate individual or couple willing to understand her unique needs, and to continue training and socialization. In return, Morel promises unwavering loyalty, cuddles, and joyful companionship. Hi! I'm Tutto, but I'm also known as Jax. I'm so adorable because my mom was a beagle mix and my dad was a basset hound. So, I'm not too big, or too small, but I'm just the right size.  I was adopted when I was 12 weeks old, but my new person decided they didn't have time for me anymore, so they returned me to Paws Rescue League. I don't know why she didn't want me... I'm a really good boy. I am not a barker, I get along with everyone I meet, and I'm pretty darn good at cuddling, if I don't say so myself. I'm medically up to date, crate trained, and potty trained - no accidents at all! My new CT foster mom says I'm really an excellent dog.  Please put in an application to meet me - I think you'll love me! Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Bennie, a super sweet ~4 year old neutered male chihuahua mix, weighing about 12 lbs. This little guy is shy and nervous at first, but he warms up quickly and is an absolute love bug who loves to give kisses! He is good with other dogs and good with people. We recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his small size and his shyness). He has been exposed to a cat in his foster home, and loves to play with her - would be fine with dog savvy cats/cats that enjoy playing. From Bennie's current foster: "Bennie has been an absolutely joy in the home. Although he took an hour or so to warm up to me, once you've gained his trust, you will be gifted a lifetime of snuggles and kisses. This boy is as sweet as pie, and his new home will be so lucky to have him. He is so affectionate, loves to play with toys (will grab them on his own to occupy himself), he's smart, and he sleeps great through the night! He is potty trained, but does happy pee a little when you return home because he is excited to see you. He is super fast and loves to play fetch! He would love a fenced in yard so he could sprint around and play all day. Bennie is going to make his new family so happy!!" Bennie is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained.
