Gizmo is a 4.5 year old female Dachshund mix. She is a sweet girl she is very gentle, and loving. She for sure wants to be on your lap whenever you allow it. She doesnt mind sharing her people, her food, her toys, shes very sweet, and not interesred in causing a fuss. Unless its a crate. She wants nothing to do with one. She is happy on a dog bed, couch, or in bed with you. She is ok on leash and is housbroken, and pad trained. She is a flight risk, and will run if she is not familiar with the area and not leashed securely. We suggest a fenced yard, but also a family who will keep her on lead, and supervise her while she does her business outside. (Atleast until a bond is built and she realizes she is home). She is a very good dog, she wants to get along with all, and loves people. We can tell she was loved before she came to rescue. show less

Hudson came to Paws Rescue League when animal control was called on an individual who had many dogs, who were not getting the care they needed, and were all living outside. Animal control asked the owner to surrender the dogs. 8 dogs were signed over, Hudson, Sheldon, and Moose are 3 of the 8 PRL agreeed to take in. Thankfully the Humane Society took in a few, and the remaining dogs were adopted! Hudson is a sweet boy, he is believed to be a german wirehaired pointer/doodle mix. He is a gorgous pooch! He is estimated to be about a year old, and weighs about 45lbs. He is friendly, good with other dogs, kids and people, has not been cat tested yet. Hudson has spent time at doggy day care while he was in foster in TN, He would love to finally had a family of his own who will let him live inside and be part of the family. Which is something his prior owner never gave him. Hudson is crate trained and housbroken, walks well on leash and is ok in the car. Long trips he may get a bit car sick. show less

Peppermint Paddy is a 2 year old female staffy/boxer mix. She is about 48lbs, and is full grown and will not get any bigger. Peppermint Paddy has lived a life of pure neglect. When you meet her you would NEVER know, she is so happy to meet everyone and smiling from ear to ear. She is gentle, and sweet, affectionate, and an overall wonderful pooch. I guess we understand why she is as happy as she is, she has finally escaped her living hell. Peppermint Paddy would get loose occasionally from her owners, and neighbors, and locals would find her, and post her on social media " Found, very sweet sweet baby, someone has to be looking for this doll!" and her owners would come and get her, this smiling happy girl, who was happy because she was free and got a nice meal from a nice stranger, even if for a short while, she was happy. But her owners would pick her up and throw her back in her outdoor kennel, with her puppies, who were also starving. Peppermint Paddy continued to find ways to get lose. Most likely due to being desperate to find food and water. Her puppies contined to try to drink from her, but her milk had dried up. Lack of food and water, and 6 hungry mouths to feed, her milk supply just wasnt cutting it anymore for the 8 -9 week old puppies who should be eating kibble at this age. Slowly, the puppies began to fade, one after another after another. Finally neighbors had enough, animal control wouldnt save the mom or pups, so they begged the family to allow the dogs to come to rescue. The agreed to place 2 of the puppies in rescue. But they wanted to keep the brindle male puppy, his mom Peppermint Paddy. They refused our offer to fix both the puppy and mom. They refused our pleas for the dogs to need socialization, they refused and said they are staying in the pen, they dont need to be socialized.. Their intention was to breed Peppermint Paddy with her male puppy, to produce more brindle puppies for them to sell. We have tried multiple times to save both the last puppy, and Peppermint Paddy, finally they gave in and allowed us to take the 3rd puppy. A month went by, we still continued to try to get them to surrender the mom to us. We couldnt leave her there, the last update we got was she was tied to a tree with so little slack she couldnt lay down, no food, no water, no form of shelter other than the tree.. They had her tied, because she escaped the pen again. Finally we were told that they were allowing us to take Peppermint Paddy! We didnt waste a moment, we rushed to get her, and get her vetted. She got her freedom ride out of her horrific past or sheer neglect and disregaurd for her life. Peppermint Paddy is now spayed, and medically up to date, and ready to find a REAL FAMILY, a family who will love her as much as she will love them. Peppermint Paddy deserves the best family, and home! We have made a promise to her, to find her, her happy furever after. show less

Sheldon came to Paws Rescue League when animal control was called on an individual who had many dogs, who were not getting the care they needed, and were all living outside. Bubbes and Trinity were part of a hoarding situation where they were removed from the home they were living in. They were both taken to the shelter and the family signed both of them over to animal control. Upon intake both Bubbles and Trinity were listed as about 10 months old, and were vetted with that age as the guesstimated age. Our vet believes they are atleast a year old. We are listing them as between 10 months and 18 months old. They are Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes or ( Chewinies) Trinity has had a not so wonderful past, and she is a tad bit shy and nervous when there is a big change, and she is suddenly with new people. She does adjust quickly, and once she realizes you are a nice person she warms up and wants to cuddle, and be on your lap. Once she knows youre his person, she will love you uncomditionally. She is not very accustomed to a leash but has been working on it, She is house trained, with a doggy door, and is working on pottying on leash more. Trinity is great with small dogs, shes not been around many large dogs, She has tested ok with cats on intake, she was aware the cat was there but she didnt pay any attention to the cat during this eval). Due to Trinitys past we would recommend children older than 10 years old, who understand giving a dog space. A fenced in yard is prefered until she gets completely accustomed to the leash show less

Wilde is a 5-6 month old male Boxer/husky mix who we saved from a local Animal Control in TN. Animal Control is not a shelter, and they euthanize for space. They have 12 kennels, once those kennels are full they will euthanize any unclaimed dogs. Stray dogs and puppies are given 3 days by state law before they can be euthanize, owner surrenders can be euthanized after 24 hours if a new adopter or rescue is not found. We saved Wilde from Animal control, placed him into a loving foster home while he was vetted. He is now in New England awaiting his FURever home! Wildes foster mom in TN had this to say about Wilde "Who ever adopts him, is getting a seriously great dog! He is potty trained, well behaved, super sweet, knows his basic commands, gets along great with other dogs and kids. He loves his crate, and likes to play with toys and will keep himslef occupied with them. He is great in the car, doesnt make a peep! He is a quite dog, doesnt bark much, that ive seen/heard. Honestly, he is the best foster I have ever had, and we have fostered more than 50 dogs. He is absolutley a keeper!" Wilde is ready to meet his new people and start his new life in New England! show less

Pumpkin came to PRL as an owner surrender, along with 2 other puppies (Willow, and Pecan) who are not related. Pumkin is an 8/9 month old boston terrier/terrier mix, she currently weighs about 20lbs, and will not get much larger. The max she will grow to is about 25lbs, ( unless she becomes overweight). Pumkin is a sweet, sensitive little girl. She was sad and scared when she was placed into foster care, but her owners had too much going on, they had an accidental litter (willow and pecan), and too many dogs to care for. We agreed to help by taking Pumpkin, Pecan and Willow in to rescue. Pumkin came from a home with small kids, and does well with them, but during the first week or so in a new place, she is quite timid, unsure and nervous, becasue of this we suggest older children 10 years and up, or no children. Pumkin is great with other dogs, and loves her people once she realizes you will be good to her (and give her some yumy treats) Pumkin is such a sweet, dainty little gal, who would love an owner who is confident, and who will be patient with her during the first few weeks. She would love a family will keep socializing her with other dogs, and people, since she lacks confidnece, the more people and dogs, and exposure to differnt environments, will help build up her confidence, show less

They are all doing much better now, after steroids, and antibiotics, and medicated baths. Fran and siblings are schnauzer mixes, we believe they will grow to about medium size. Gunther, Tucker, and Walter are 3 month old male Great Dane/Lab mixes. We were alerted to a group of 4 black puppies roaming the roads in TN. We had been asked to help and take them in, we began our search for them. Every time we got a call about their location, our volunteers would arrive and there would be no signs of the puppies. Volunteers left names and numbers with constuction workers, police officers and anyone in the area, for them to contact us if they spotted the puppies. We located the original owner of the puppies, who said she rehomed them, and the new family must have dumped them.She asked if we could take them into rescue, which we agreed we would if we could locate them. The puppies were starving, the first report they were on a farm eating the cow feed. Highway patrol told us the puppies had been running near the highway and had almost got hit numerous times. Finally we got a tip after 4 days of searching that a lady had pulled over and put all 4 puppies in her car. We couldnt locate this woman, so we put out a plea on social media. We got a message the next day that 3 of the 4 puppies were in a yard. We had volunteers rush to get the puppies. We immediately took them to the vet for testing, and medication, Gunther and his siblings are typical puppies, they are learning about the world, practicing potty training, crate training, and how to be the best dog they can be. Gunther was the puppy who was the most nervous when we saved them. All 3 puppies are now healthy, happy and ready for FURever homes! These pups are gorgeous, and will be large dogs, due to their start in life, we would suggest a fenced in yard, and large breed experience show less

June, along with Gertrude, and Olivia were saved from a hoarding situation. Animal control had been called, and they took all 18 dogs our of the home. The local Humane Societ, Paws Rescue League and a few other rescues all helped by taking in a few dogs. June is a 3 year old, pug/chi mix she is a sweet girl, who would love a warm lap, and a friendly face to see everyday. She is good with other dogs, and good with people. She does good with kids, but due to her background we would suggest children 10 years and older who know how to respect a dogs space. June is housebroken (with a doggy door), and crate trained, and walks okay on leash, but still needs more practice.. She will continue to practice while in her foster home, awating her furever home. June weighs abour 16lbs, and she is 3 years old. She will not get any bigger than she is now. show less

Willow, Pecan and Pumpkin were owner surrenders, their family had unexpected puppies and were not able to keep them any longer. We took them into rescue to find them forever homes! Rouge is a 2 month old male full bred Airdale terrier, we saved her and 3 of her siblings from a breeder who was selling them. We wanted to ensure they would find loving, caring furever homes where they would be taken care of and not chained up outside, or dumped later on. Which has been the trend in the south for some time. Rouge came from a litter of 12 puppies, another rescue took a few of the puppies in to their rescue, and some people bought puppies before we got there to save them. Rouge is a typical fun loving curious playful little girl, who loves everyone! We named her Rouge, from X-Men, her brother and sisters that we saved are Logan, Storm, and Jubliee Airdale terriers are large breed dogs. They grow to be between 40-70lbs. They have hair not fur, and are a large breed hypoallergenic dog, like a standard poodle. Their coloring is brown and tan, and all 4 siblings are nearly identical. They are good breed dogs, smart, average energy level, and good with people. Rouge and her siblings are only 2 months old, they are good with everyone and they will adjust well in almost any home they go to.Good with dogs, cats and children. These 4 pups will need to go to families who have fenced in yards. Rouge is currently working on potty training and crate training. show less

Spice is a 4 month old female black chi mix, she was an owner surrender. Her owner no longer wanted her, she had only just got Spice less than a month before, and rehomed her a meer 4 weeks later. Since being in her foster home, Spice has been having a blast playing with her foster siblings (who are also chi mixes). Her foster family adore her, they say she is very sweet pup no accidents in the home, and all around great dog. Spice is crate trained, housebroken, and good with dogs, cats and kids. Keta is a 2 year old female Cairn terrier mix. She was originally picked up as a stray at a local animal control in east TN. Keta was taken in by the humane society. The humane society was over capacity.. We reached out to the humane society and agreed to take in Keta, and Angel. Keta is a sweet girl, she likes her people and is affectionate. She can by shy at first meeting, and can have small dog syndrome (where a small dog thinks theyre the size of a great dane!) At the humane society she became friends with one dog, and one cat, but was very selective with other dogs/animals. Keta arrives in New England on 10/08/2022, and will need a foster home or adoptive home. Keta needs a home where she can be the only dog, OR a family who has rescue experience, and experience with shy, nervous small dogs. Keta adores her people, and would love to have a warm lap to nap in and call her own. Keta is good with people, but we suggest older kids, who can respect a dogs space. Keta is spayed., UTD medically, and is housbroken, and crate trained. She walks well on leash and does goo in the car. show less

We saved Angel when humane society was over capacity and we helped by intaking a few of their dogs. We were told they had adopted Angel to a family when she was 6 monthd old. They had learned 4 months later that the family was trying to sell her online. The humane society took this sweet girl back, and that is how she came into our care, Her foster parent says she is wonderful, good with kids, dogs, and is housbroken, crate trained and an over all great doggo! They said she is a 10 on a scale on 1-10! Angel is a 10 month old border collie mix, who deserves a family of her own, who wont try to sell her. She will arrive in New England on 10/08 and is hoping to find a furever home! show less
