Meet Weaver, a sweet ~8 years young spayed female beagle/shepherd mix, weighing about 30 lbs! Weaver was seen being dumped out of a pick up truck at a car wash in east TN (sadly, dumping/abandoning dogs is very common in this area). She was dumped on a street called Weaver Pike, which is how she got her name. Fortunately for Weaver, she was taken into rescue and is now ready to find her furever home and put her past behind her! Weaver is a sweet, friendly girl who is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. From her foster: "Weaver is very sweet and gets along well with other dogs. She has low-medium energy and is a great size pup! She is amazing with house training and her tail never stops wagging!! Despite her hound heritage, she doesn't appear to be much of a barker. An easy girl!" She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this darling gal today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Ivy, a super cute 2-3 year old spayed female chihuahua! Ivy was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of which were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Ivy is now in a New England foster home and is ready to find her furever home!  Ivy is a shy girl and takes time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is a very sweet girl! She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Ivy is medically up to date, pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. Meet Benny, a handsome 4 year old neutered male wire haired terrier mix, weighing about 65 lbs! Benny and his brother Remie were sadly surrendered by their owner when the owner could no longer care for them (through no fault of the dogs). Benny is a super sweet dog that is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  From Benny's current foster:  "It’s been two days with Benny and I think his favorite thing is being called a good boy 🥹 He flops on his back as soon you start to pet him and will hold on to your hand with his paws so you don’t stop. He has been very respectful of my 9yo dog who doesn’t have much energy to play and has kept up with the crazy playful dogs he got to meet today. He is housebroken and doesn’t protest the crate too much (though I’m not sure he really needs one). If I was looking for another dog, he would absolutely be staying with me. Meet the Highway 68 litter: Genesis, Livingston, Miller, Lantana, Maryetta, Pomona, and Pevine! While we are unsure of their breed mix, our best guess is some mix of Australian Shepherd and poodle/doodle (or possibly wire terrier) as most of the pups have a wiry coat. These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Dorris, a super sweet 6-8 year old spayed female beagle mix! Dorris was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN when she was very heavily pregnant - poor Dorris looked like she was about to pop! Paws Rescue League took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home, where she went into labor and began giving birth during the evening hours of 9/29. Dorris was able to deliver the first 3 babies on her own, but baby #4 got stuck, so her experienced foster mom loaded her up to the vet for a C section. The vet was able to pull out baby #4, however it was stillborn 😢 The final 3 babies were delivered via C section (mama was also spayed following the C section). One other baby did not make it, but the surviving 5 pups (the "Little Piggy" litter 🐷) have grown into chubby, healthy puppies who have all been adopted! Now Mama Dorris is ready to retire from motherhood and live out the rest of her days being spoiled like she deserves!  Dorris is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. She is an easy, low maintenance dog who would do well in most homes. From Dorris's current foster: "Dorris is the sweetest! Her favorite activity is sleeping but when we go on walks she gets a boost of energy. She loves sniffing, her nose is always to the ground. When she sniffs a squirrel out she’ll chase after them. Fortunately, she hasn’t expressed any interest in chasing after my cat so I’d say she’s good with dog savvy cats. The few times my cat has approached Dorris she doesn’t do much. She also loves eating (who doesn't!) and cuddling.  She does very good on her own whenever I need to leave the house for work or errands, settles right into her crate until I come back. Overall she’s a cutie!!" She is medically up to date, crate trained, and housebroken. Apply to meet this sweet, loving girl today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Meet Noelle, a super cute 2-3 year old spayed female chihuahua! Noelle was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of which were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They have been in a TN foster home for over a month now decompressing and learning to trust people. Noelle is now ready to make the trip to New England to find her furever home!  Noelle is a shy girl and takes a little time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is a very sweet girl! She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Noelle is medically up to date, pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. Apply to meet this darling girl today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
