Joy and Noel are 6 month old Great Pyranees/Golden Retriever mix pups, who were owner surrendered in TN when their current owner was unable/unwilling to continue caring for them (sadly, this is all too common down south, and owner surrendered dogs are the first to be euthanized for space at animal control). Paws Rescue League stepped in and saved these two sweet babies, who will be getting their freedom ride to New England to find their furever homes! Joy is a pretty girl who is sweet and shy, but friendly, weighing about 40 lbs currently. The previous owner stated that Joy is good with horses, cows, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, and kids! She is housebroken and crate trained, and is working on leash training and confidence building. She is spayed and medically up to date. Joy arrives in New England on 12/16 and is looking forward to meeting her furever family! From Joy's New England foster: "Joy has been absolutely incredible....she loves all people and dogs, walks perfectly on a leash, and hasn't shown any indications of being a flight risk. She has chewed through a few leashes now and has never considered walking away from us. She is a huge love, and has no idea of her size. It's clear she isn't used to being in a house....everything inside is so foreign to her....it took her about 4 days to learn to use the stairs, and she still casually climbs on tables and sleeps in the fireplace She is only 6 months old so is still a puppy in a lot of ways, despite her size. She mouths a lot and can jump very high when she's excited...she is completely harmless, but someone with big breed experience would be ideal. She is a true Pyrenees in a lot of ways....so loving and loyal, extremely docile/calm, loves to protect our yard from little critters, and VERY eager to please and learn - she's smart as a whip but easily corrected. She is housebroken and sleeps in the crate at night. Her favorite thing to do is lay by our front door or in our front yard people watching....each morning we walk to a school nearby to play and she LOVES to play with my boys and neighbors dog, but for the majority of the time she'll sit and observe them. She has some puppy energy, but for the most part 1-2 medium walks a day is probably all she needs, though she loves being outside in general just watching the world around her. Like most puppies, she still needs to be watched around the house as she can be a little mischievous and will try to grab all sorts of random things to chew, but drops them immediately when we ask her to (but I imagine if we weren't watching she'd chew them up). She's become a pro at opening gifts, and when we hosted 10 people + a 4th dog for Christmas we were nervous about how she would handle it but she legit just slept on the floor in the middle of the action the entire night. There were people of all ages (11 months+), food and drinks everywhere, lots of loud games, etc. and everyone was blown away at how calm and loving she was the entire night (us included). She's an INCREDIBLE dog."
