Spaghetti is one of the 6 Pasta puppies born to Momma Mia on January 2nd 2023! Her mom ( Momma Mia ) is a Chihuahua mix, and dad we belive is Rufio, who is a Xolo mix ( Mexcian Hairless Dog).    Spaghetti is a typical 8 week old puppy, he is just now ready to leave his mom and siblings and find her new Furever family! Being a Chi/Xolo mix he will likely grow to be around 15lbs full grown. He is a small breed dog, he would do well in most homes, as long as his new family understands the dangers small breeds face. At 8 weeks he currently weighs about 2lbs, he can easily be trampled by large breed dogs, or children. He can NOT be left alone outside, or off leash. With Spring approaching, hawks and predetor birds will be out in more abundance, and a small 2lbs dog looks like a rodent to them, and the danger of them being swooped up by a hawk is real.  Spaghetti is a happy boyl, who is learning about the world and needs a family who has the time to work with a train a brand new pup! He is good with everyone! He was born while in a loving foster home. Spaghettii and his siblings have only ever understood love, and care and are well rounded pups who have been socialized with their ( we belive are their cousins) Faith and Shiloh (who were born to Momma Merci).  Momma Mia and Momma Merci had their puppies 1 day apart.  Momma Mia and Momma Merci ( 2 heavily pregnant Chihuahuas) were saved along with Rufio, Trixie and Sassie ( all Chi and Xolo mixes) just befrore Christmas 2022. We were called when someone drove to a trailer park and opened their car door and let 10 little dogs loose and drove away. We spent the next 3 days trying to catch them and work with other resuces to help take some of the other dogs in. Paws Rescue League Inc. saved 5 of the 10 dogs, and the other 5 dogs went to 2 other rescues.  show less

Snoop is a 2 year old Black Mouth Cur/ Lab mix!  She got her name, becasue she was at a kill shelter, running out of time before the rescue took her in. Her foster family called her Snoop. She is such a sweet, laid back and loving girl. She is a bit of a goofball and will make you laugh! She is good with kids, cats, and other dogs! Snoop is potty trained and also crate trained. Her southern foster has told us she would absolutely be a "foster fail".   Statement from the southern foster "Snoop would definetly be a foster fail for me, if I didnt alreay have 4 dogs of my own. She is quite the perfect pacakge, pretty quiet, great with other dogs, lovely with children, ok with cats, very friendly, very loving and affectionate. She is a very smart dog, she learns very fast, and follows rules and boundaries put in place, has a very even temperament and awesome personality. She has a low prey drive, and has been just wonderful to have around these last few weeks. She is housebroken, we do have a dog door, so she had access to outside whenever needed, good indoor house manners, and crate trained.  We did have one mishap when we first took her in as a foster, where she got loose from me. Once I opened the door she ran over and hopped in! Did I mention she is great in the car as well? We would have been happy to keep her here as long as needed. She really is the complete package, atleast for us she was a great fit! We hope she finds her perfect family to match.  She is going to make a lucky family very happy!"  Snoop is currently in New England in a foster home awaiting a FURever home. She would like everyone to know  " She is currently spending her dayz snuggling on the couch, getting head scratchies, belly rubz and playing with ALLLLL the toys, and protecting the couch from the weird broom that makes loud noises and sucks up the toyz!  Also getting lotz of cookies.. for being the bestest girl!  As much as she loves her foster mom, she would love really love to be doing all this in her FURever home, with a FURever family of her own.  show less

Nayalynn is a 1 year old small/med terrier mix, she weighs just 29lbs! She came to the shelter as a stray, she was flea infested, and was so scared at the noisy shelter. She would just tremble in her kennel. After a couple of days of decompression, she should staff how sweet she was! She was eager to play with the other dogs, and get attention from the staff. Her favorite thing to do was sit with one of the women volunteers and hear all about a family in the North waiting for her, and getting head scratchies.   Natalynn is medically UTD on her vaccines, she is 4DX/HW negative. She has not been spayed yet, but will be fixed at her next vet appt. She is full grown and will not get any bigger, she may gain a few lbs once her food is a better quality. Natalynn is good with other dogs, has not been cat tested yet, she is good with kids, we suggest kids 8 years and up due to her being so scared at the shelter. She loves her foster family's children and loves to play. She is good with people, and people friendly, she may be shy or nervous at first, but that is common with almost all rescue dogs at initial meetings.  Natalynn is a very sweet and loving dog. She know some basic commands and is still working on more training! She loves bones, especially smoked beef bones and antlers. She loves to play with her foster sibling as well!  if you are interested in adopting Natalynn, please submit an application! show less

Marie came to us through a local animal control. She was picked up as a stray and placed on a 5 day stray hold, after about a week the shelter contacted Paws Rescue League Inc to see if we could save her and pull her into rescue. She was awfully matted and smelly, with a serverely overgrown coat of hair. We agreed to take her in. We temperament tested her with people and dogs, and she did wonderfully. We had her fully vetted, and groomed.  Marie has been in her TN foster and doing wonderful, with all the resident dogs and her foster humans. Marie will be making her way up to New England on 3/11/23 and will be looking for a foster home or a FURever family.  Marie is believed to be a poodle mix, possibly a poodle/labrador, or golden/poodle (a Doodle). Marie is about 2 years old, and weighs about 50lbs. She is full grown, she will not get any larger. She is housebroken but WILL have accidents in a new home until she learns the routine and layout of the home. She is good walking on leash, she knows "sit". She was not fixed when she came into rescue, we have had her spayed, and fully vetted, she has been tested for heartworm and tick borne illnesses, which were all negative,  Standard Poodles, and doodles are intellegent, active dogs, and also large dogs. They need families/owners who understand their breed/or breed mix, and have the time and energy to work with and give the dog. Poodles, and doodles are not couch potato dogs. Poodle experiences is prefered. show less

Monica, Emma, Emily, Rachel and Janice were being given away by their owner "free to homes", the owner stated they were going to put them in a box and drop the box off at Walmart. We had one of our volunteers go see the puppies and ask about the mom, so we could ask to spay her to prevent future unwanted puppies. We were told mom wasn't available for us to fix. We asked to take in the remaining 5 puppies (originally there were 8), the boys were already given away. We took the 5 females who were left. All the puppies looked heatlhy aside from wormy bellies and not eating nutritious food. Except for Janice, we noticed her face was swollen, and we took the family of 5 puppy sisters and got them to the vet right away.  Monica got a clean bill of health, and recieved all of her vaccines, and has been cleared for adoption. Janice sadly has developed painful puppy stragles, and dermititus, which she surely would never have made it without medical care.  Monica is a sweet playful little girl, who is adorable, and will quickly make everyone who meets her fall on love, she has mostly black coat, with a white chest, and the cutest little face!  Monica is good with everyone! We believe she will only be about 30-40lbs full grown, Monica would fit in most homes, and make a perfect addition. Monica is hoping she has a family waiting for her when she arrives to New England on 02/18/2023!   show less

Thalia and her puppies came to us, when the owner put our a plea for help with a momma dog, and 8 puppies, who they did not want. When we arrived to the scene, Thalia  (momma), was tied up with a chain and a padlock to a panel of fencing, on the outside of the yard, so. she was not protected inside a fence. The 8 puppies, some people had already came and took 2 of them. The reamining 6 puppies were free raoming, near a road, in the drive way, and some huddled up under some cars, wrapped up to try and keep warm. These puppies were saved just adter the bitter cold week, where temperatures in we the negative tens, -10 windchill.  These 8 puppies sleeping on a hard dirty gound, under cars for warmth and cover while momma was chained up with a pad lock. Both Thalia and the puppies were all very underweight. No food or water bowl were seen at the site the dogs were rescued from.   We took Thalia and the 6 puppies, placed them in foster home, where we worked on getting them all to healthy weights, and into the vet to make sure they are all healthy and recieve vet care. Tiny is a male 11 week old small shepard/pug mix.  We were told by the owner of Thalia and puppies that a pug mix was the dad of the puppies.  We believe most of the 6 puppies will be small to medium in size. Mom Thalia is about 40lbs, and we expect the puppies to be under that weight when fully grown. This is an estimate based off mom, and dad, and the puppies current size ( this is not a gaurantee they will all be under 40lbs).    Tiny is still pretty tiny! He is in New England waiting for his furever home. He wants his family to know that he  loves to play fetch, evven though the ball is as big as him! He is a great cuddle buddy and loves to snuggle. He is still working on potty training, but is pad trained! This is a great start until he masters the outside world. If you are interested in playing fetch with this little boy, please submit an adoptin application! show less

Kathrynn, Noah and Brooklynn came to Paws Rescue League Inc, when another Non Profit Charity organization called "Chain Free Greenevill TN", whose mission is to prevent dogs from being chained up outside, and build fences/yards for the communities dogs that are tied up. Occassionally while they are out there helping, they are asked to take dogs that are no longer wanted. Some times they stumble on horrific scenes.   That was the case for Noah, Kathrynn and Brooklynn, they were in a shed starving to death, and had their dead litter mates around them. Chain Free got them out of that situation and reached out to Paws Rescue League and asked if we had space to take them in to rescue. We took them in, placed them in a loving foster home, and got them fully vetted. They have now been with us for about 6-7 weeks, and they are now ready to head to New England and find their FURever homes. Kathrynn is an 8 month old, austrailian shepard, austrailian cattle dog mix, who is now a happy, healthy and loving puppy! She is potty trained with a dog door, and is crate trained, and learning to walk on leash. Since her intake, she has blossomed into a loving, sweet, snuggly and silly girl. She is still nervous around stangers and tends to freeze, but with continued work and patience she will continue to blossom! She is a calm and mellow dog, but her wild child does come out sometimes! Riley came to Paws Rescue League, when another NON profit organization - Chain Free Greeneville, had installed a fence for a dog ( named peanut), now known as Riley. Riley was chained up to a broken down, rusting pick up truck. We later learned that Riley had spent his whole life with his prior family on a chain. Since he was just a puppy.  Chain Free had asked the family to surrender him to them, and they did. They reached out to rescues organizations. We were contacted and asked to take him in.We got him into rescue, had him temperament tested by 2 dog trainers, and he tested fantasticly well. Just a sweet happy, grateful boy who is eager to learn about all the things hes never seen.   A little about Riley; He is a lab hound mix, he is fully up to date medically, and neutered, and Heartworm negative.  He LOVES ALL PEOPLE, and meeting new friends is his jam! He is currently being fostered with the 5 "Friends puppies" who are about 11 weeks old. He likes to play with them, and he likes to play with big dogs his own age. He has NOT been cat tested so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is crate trained, but is nervous in wire crates, so plastic ones are better for him. He has mastered house breaking and knows how to use a doggy door.  He has learned a few basic commands while in foster, and is doing great on leash walking. He is happy about life, and he makes the most out of every moment by being super lovey, or making everything fun!  He would make a wonderful addition to many families, he shows us daily how thankful he is to finally be off of his 5 foot chain, and experience life! show less
