Keira has sadly spent most of her life tied to a chain outdoors, and she is still learning how to be a dog. She LOVES other dogs and people (not cat tested), and will follow you around wherever you go. Due to her size, we recommend older kids 8+ (as she may unintentionally knock over small children). Meet Roo, a 1 handsome year old neutered male Husky mix bursting with energy and charm! This 42-pound bundle of joy is always ready for action, thriving on playtime and adventure. With his perfect mix of Husky independence and goofy puppy spirit, Roo loves to play fetch, tug-of-war, and will even bring you toys to throw, gently placing them nearby and waiting (or reminding you) to get the game going. Roo is play motivated, and play is how he connects and feels happiest. Despite his high energy, he is surprisingly low-maintenance – he loves toys but won't destroy them, and he's even learned to play alone, joyfully tossing toys in the air and chasing them! While Roo isn't a "cuddly" dog in the classical sense, he still enjoys being close to his humans, often "helping" in the garden by sticking close and watching everything you do (occasionally demanding payment in leaves to nibble on). Lucy is a beautiful female Beagle mix, who was sadly found dumped outside in east TN with her 4 newborn puppies (the Peanuts litter). Lucy and her pups were rescued and placed in a loving foster home. She has now finished nursing and is being fostered in CT while she awaits her forever home! Lucy is estimated to be about 5 years old. She looks bigger in her photos than she really is - she's only about 18-20 lbs so she's a pretty petite girl! Lucy is a very sweet, good natured girl and she has been an excellent mama! She is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She has also done well with the dog savvy cats she has met - was unsure of them at first but warmed up quickly & ignored them. Even though she looks sad in her pictures, Lucy is a very happy girl full of love and tail wags! She enjoys being with her person, and she did excellent getting her nails trimmed (pics in profile were pre-nail trim). She is mellow most of the time, but she does like to play and she gets the occasional zoomie! Her favorite place to be is by your side or in your lap. She's a real gem! This sweet pup loves to play with toys, give kisses, and hang out with humans, and gets along great with dogs, cats, people, and kids of all ages. She's learning to navigate stairs and is making progress with her little puppy legs. Her CT foster raves about her, saying "Rita is the life of the party. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
