In honor of Black Dog Day, the adoption fee has been reduced for this dog by $150 through 10/31/24 from the adoption fee listed below! Bindi is an incredible girl! With her stunning amber eyes and her shiny black coat, she's a girl you want to meet! She is only a year old, spayed, and a manageable 45 lbs. She is full grown and will not get any bigger. She is a friendly girl who loves to meet new people! She has a cute full body wiggle that she does when she is excited (which is often!). She still has a good amount of puppy energy and would do well in an active home. She would make a great running or hiking buddy! Bindi loves kids, but we recommend dog savvy kids that know how to be around an active dog. She is very sweet and loving, loves to be close to her people and give kisses! Bindi is selectively good with other dogs (for some reason she doesn't seem to like fluffy dogs at the moment... nothing terrible, but she doesn't want to interact with them). Of the dogs she get to play with she LOVES to play with them, but she likes to play rough so would do best with another robust dog like herself that likes to wrestle. She does best with other young, high energy dogs with a similar play style and similar size or larger than her. She also does best with submissive dogs. She is too interested in kitties, so no feline friends for this girl. Some of Bindi's favorite things are BONES, squeaky toys, and belly rubs. She is a good girl who has had a lot of training and is ready to be a great dog for any active home. Bindi is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. She's the complete package! Meet Sophie and Saige, super cute ~6 month old spayed female dachshund mix puppies, each weighing about 10 lbs. Sophie and Saige were rescued from the same hoarding case in TN that Maddison, Myles, Milo, and Micah came from. They are both sweet and affectionate girls, shy at first but they warm up quickly. From Saige's current foster: "Saige is a young adult spayed dachshund mix. Has her “pocket rocket” moments where she runs around the back yard, but is calmer in the house. Very sweet and social, wags her tail and back end when she sees a person she knows! Loves to give kisses and chase Kong balls. A little dog selective, gets along with my 20lb terrier mix perfectly. Sleeps in a crate at night, no messes. Almost housebroken, and uses pee-pads very well in the house. Sweet, sweet dog who wants to be someone’s best friend!" These petite girls are good with other dogs, people, and kids. They have not been cat tested, but we assume they would probably do ok with cats. "Healing Hearts" Meet Blue, a 3-4 year old spayed Blue Heeler/Terrier mix, weighing 45-pounds. With her intelligent and affectionate nature, Blue promises unconditional love and companionship. She loves cuddles and snuggles, often initating them by putting her paw on your arm or shoulder. A true lap dog at heart, Blue loves to sleep with her head on your chest or lap. Blue's playful side shines through in her love of toys, interactive games, and energetic playtime. Blue's past injury requires special care. Blue was hit by a car as a stray and her leg began healing before she could receive treatment. Despite her altered gait, Blue remains an active and adventurous companion. She does struggle with a full flight of stairs, especially hardwood stairs, necessitating carpeted or no stairs to prevent falls. She as been socialized with cats and chickens, but like all dogs, will need training to establish boundaries. As part of the Heeler breed, she has a playful nature, and mouthiness. She loves to lick and nibble to show her love, but is easily redirected with a chew toy or a bone. Thriving on human interaction, we strongly suggest homes that don't allow dogs on the couch to not apply. 😅 With the colder weather coming, Blue will make sure you stay warm, in turn, lowering your heating bill. She would love a playmate around her size or larger to keep her active and engaged. Due to her playful mouthiness, we think a household with older children (8+ years) would be perfect. Meet Shasta, a super cute 2 year old spayed female wire terrier mix, weighing about 28 lbs! If you are into bearded ladies, Shasta is your girl! She is good with other dogs, people, and kids. Shasta is overly interested in squirrels, so we think she would do best in a home without cats. Shasta has been described as a little timid at first, but once she warms up to you she is very sweet and loves to snuggle! She loves her crate, but prefers to watch her humans from the couch. She seems very smart, is very calm, and gets along with dogs of all sizes. Hi! I’m Roamin! I'm a 2 year old neutered male miniature poodle mix. I weigh about 16 lbs and am full grown. My coat was recently shaved because it was matted when I was taken into rescue, but the nice humans tell me it should grow back in time for winter! I am a happy, friendly boy! I love playing with toys and am good at fetch. I know how to walk nicely on a leash! I also love naps and snuggling close to my people. They tell me I'm pretty cute! I get along with other dogs of all sizes, but I prefer dogs who are more calm and mellow like me. I also prefer female dogs. I like cats and will play with them if they let me, but sometimes I get too excited and they swat at me. I am learning that means to give them space. I love kids and am good with them! Roamin is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (will likely have accidents the first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine), and crate trained. He is a snuggle bug and a very sweet boy!
