Pee Wee is an older chihuahua, who was dumped at animal control because she got into a fight with a chicken, and she won. ( So no chickens for this gal!) But who can blame her? She is only about 10lbs and most chickens are taller than her! To Pee Wee that chicken was a raptor with powerful talon and sharp beak! She was only trying to prevent a raptor invasion and protect her family lol!  We feel so bad for Pee Wee, she was so confused at animal control, and just wanted to go home..    Thankfully we were able to take Pee Wee in and place her in a loving foster home until she made her way to New England. Pee Wee arrives in New England this week, and is hoping she can go right to her new home, and not another foster home. She is eager to start her new life, without scary raptor chickens, where she wil be loved, and where her people are proud that she tries to keep scary raptors away! Pee Wee is about 10lbs, and estimated to be 6 years old. She loves her people, and always has a smile on her face. We are not sure how she is with cats. She is good with older kids, who understand shes an older dog.  Pee Wee the sweetheart. That sums her up! She has been surrendered by her owners, in one foster home and now another. She is sooo ready for her forever home! She loves to take her toys and walk around with them and then teases you to take it to play catch. She is not super energetic because she’s a little older (but young at heart) so she is super chill and easy to take care of. There is so much to love in this little girl! She would be a wonderful companion pet. She likes to sleep at foot of bed at night to be close to you. That seems to comfort her to be near her people. She truly is a little sweetheart! show less

Bagel is a happy, goofy young hound mix with a lot of energy! We believe he is a puppy at heart. He is 53 pounds, neutered, heartworm tested (negative), and on heartworm and flea preventative. He was originally dumped at a rural mountain cabin by a couple with addiction issues. He was then dumped at least three more times before the foster picked him up. When the vet neutered him, he had wounds consistent with being kept in a damp environment (such as the mud or in a crate with his own waste). Despite this, he is very affectionate and eager to please his people. Bagel really enjoys his people and would prefer to be with them at all times. If he gets in the car, he loves to stand in the middle and stick his face in the air conditioning. Approximately 8 minutes after meeting his foster person, he was leaning his head against hers as she drove. Personal boundaries are nonexistent with him. At his current foster, he has a doggy friend that is much smaller than him (a Chihuahua mix that is perhaps 20 pounds). The Chihuahua bosses him around and Bagel is just thrilled to have company. He does well in a large crate at night, as long as he has had attention and exercise during the day. The foster makes sure to give him a Kong toy filled with peanut butter as a way to soothe himself to sleep (and of course a night-night biscuit, and lots of soft blankets…though the new bed mysteriously exploded one day. A mystery for the ages!). He has only had 1 accident while in the crate, and this was probably due to it being a hot day and he drank a lot of water right before going in (he was inside for a hot afternoon) Bagel is good with other people, dogs, and kids. He is a little TOO cat friendly and wants to play with cats. Bagel is a very sweet dog who would respond to a family who put the time, training, and attention he very much deserves. Meet Doug!  Doug is a sweet 3 year old dachshund mix who looks like he may be mixed with beagle or some other hound.  He has a long body and short legs like a dachshund and is a compact yet sturdy 33 lbs.  Doug has a beautiful blue merle and white coat and the softest ears!  He was found as a stray and brought to Animal Control where Paws Rescue League found him and took him into rescue. Doug is a happy little guy who loves people and he especially loves other dogs.  He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly.  Doug would love a home with a confident dog sibling to show him the ropes and help him feel more comfortable.  He is currently being fostered with a 60 lb dog who he loves wrestling with and sleeping next to at night.  He is also being fostered with 2 cats, who he was initially afraid of, but he is curious and has gotten brave enough to get closer to them!  Prior to coming into rescue, we believe Doug had never seen a leash before.  He has since gotten more comfortable with a leash and enjoys going on walks and sniffing all the smells!  He is lower/medium energy and is perfectly happy with a short walk, then he is ready for a nap.  He also loves playing with toys and chewing on bones.  Doug has a very cute signature move where he plops down on his belly with his legs stretched out and crawls!  Doug gets along with everyone and is a mellow, laid back dog who would do well in most homes.  He can't wait to meet his furever family! show less

Prince Flynn and his siblings were saved by Paws Rescue Leauge when a momma dog (Magic) had given birth outside. Magic was an abandoned, stray dog who the community asked local animal controls for help with, but all facilities were full, and NO ONE was able to help. Paws Rescue League rushed to help get this family of dogs in need. Although we too were full, we thankfully had a foster step up to foster the entire family until they were old enough to find loving homes. Prince Flynn was adopted when he was 9 weeks old, but sadly, his new baby brother was born, and was allergic to dogs. He spent 4 months in his adoptive home, before he was retuned back to us at the age of 6 months old.  Flynn is NOW once again hoping to find a FURever home, and a family of his own.  Prince Flynn is now a 6 month male border collie/swiss mountain dog, He has a GORGEOUS fluffy black and white coat, with the softest ears ever! Flynn is almost fully grown, we do not expect him to get more than 10lbs larger, he currently weighs 44lbs, and is a medium sized dog.  Flynn is good with everyone, dogs of all sizes, cats and kids! Very friendly, and playful, he is still a pup, but passed the young puppy stage. He has the puppy dog look and puppy dog eyes down! He loves to play and go for walks, and smell all the smells. He is GREAT on leash, rarely pulls, and is easily corrected if he begins to pull slightl. He is 100% crate trained, and 100% house broken as long as hes on a routine, and is allowed to get out to potty 3-4 times a day, he may have the occasional accident while learning new routines, hes only had ONE accident in his fosters home, where hes been for the last 5 weeks.. This sweetheart of a dog will make one family very happy, and a loyal FURever companion!  He has a very calm, and gentle demenor, he is a border collie and has some border collie tendancies, but he is very smart, takes corrections and redirection with ease! He is very sweet natured, and at times silly.   He would excell with a family with Border collie experience or a family who leads an active lifestyle. We do recomment herding dog and large dog experience.    show less
