Meet Tom, an adorable chihuahua mix puppy! Currently weighs around 5 lbs (but is still growing).  Tom is a typical happy, friendly puppy who loves everyone! Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training, exercise, and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. He's been tested with other dogs, cats, and a variety of people and has done very well. Recommended older kids since he's small and fragile. The pups in this litter are sweet, playful, adorable, and love to shower you with kisses! Tom is a real special guy. He's very silly, quirky, loves to get zoomies in the yard, and has been very respectful of his senior foster sister's space. He is just waiting for his perfect home! He is medically up to date, and working on both housebreaking (doing excellent with a combination of pee pads and going outside) and crate training. Apply to meet this adorable guy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

We'll probably grow the be medium sized dogs.  These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Meet Shimmer, a super sweet 5-6 year old spayed female chihuahua! She is a tiny gal, weighing about 6 lbs. Shimmer was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of whom were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Shimmer is now in New England and ready to find her furever home! Shimmer is a "tripawd", she is missing the lower portion of her back left leg. We don't know how she lost her leg as she came into rescue in this condition, but it does not stop her one bit! She runs and jumps around just fine and she does a cute little hop. From Shimmer's current foster: "Shimmer is a very timid, nervous girl who takes time to warm up to new people. She has not had the best life, but she is learning that people can be kind and not so scary. She needs someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will let her come to them on her own terms. Once you earn her trust, she is an absolute sweetheart and will take treats from your hand and give gentle kisses. Shimmer LOVES other dogs and feels most safe around them (she prefers dogs who are mellow like her). Her current BFF is her 70 lb lab mix foster brother, who she snuggles next to and on top of! 🥰 She is good with cats as well. Shimmer is a special girl who deserves a second chance and a true furever home"  Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space, or no kids. Shimmer is medically up to date, crate trained, and working on pee pad training. Apply to meet this darling girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. While we are unsure of breed mix, our best guess is lab/border collie, possibly a little Great Pyr thrown in as well for good measure! Bear and his siblings currently weigh between 30-35 lbs each. We expect them to grow to medium/large sized dogs. Little Bear is a typical happy, friendly puppy who loves everyone! Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training, exercise, and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. He is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate training and housebreaking. Apply to meet this super handsome guy today! Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Meatball, an approximately 1.5 year old doxie/lab mix! He is smaller than he looks at around 30 lbs, and is a very cute and unique looking guy with short legs.  This pup is a man’s man (though he does like women too!). In his TN foster home, he followed the man around the home with every step he took. He rides well in the car. He is good with other dogs with proper intros, but we think he would do best in a home without cats - he doesn’t particularly like cats, but doesn’t hurt them either. He’s not been tested around kids, but he’s a precious, friendly guy! He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this meatball today! Meet Bear, an adorable teeny tiny neutered male Bichon/Maltese mix! He is believed to be somewhere between 2-4 years old and weighs approximately 10lbs! Bear gets along with other dogs and people. He enjoys playing with other dogs! He hasn't been cat tested, but he would likely do well with cats. We recommend an adult only home for him or a home with older, dog savvy kids 12+. At first, he can seem a little rough around the edges, but once he warms up he is a little Velcro pup! He loves to go for walks (he would walk all day if you let him), enjoys the company of other dogs, cuddling on the couch, and is happy to receive pets as long as he can see you approaching him. He really is a sweet dog who just needs to learn what love feels like! His ideal home is a single person who is looking for a buddy and someone to walk with. He is medically up to date, housebroken (and knows how to use pee pads), and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Tugboat, an ADORABLE 5-6 month old neutered male weim/pointer mix! He has the classic Weim gorgeous light eyes and the cutest little speckled nose, which he loves to sniff the ground on walks with (the pointer in him). He is expected to grow to a medium sized dog.  Tugboat is a friendly, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. He is medically up to date, crate trained, and is fully housebroken (no accidents in his crate or in the home, he's still a pup so he does need more potty breaks than an adult dog. As long as he is getting out to potty enough, he passes housetraining with FLYING colors!) Tugboat LOVES to be with his people, he is a wonderful companion who befriends everyone he meets. He is also SUPER smart and very food motivated, we expect that he will be pretty easy to train.  He is wonderful on leash, and has a very sweet, easy, laid back temperament. Meet Kobey, a handsome 8-9 month old neutered male Australian Cattle Dog (heeler) mix puppy! He is expected to grow to a medium sized dog. Kobey can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and is a very sweet, friendly boy! He enjoys human interaction, but he's also independent when needed. Good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. From Kobey's current foster:  "Whoever adopts Kobey is going to be thrilled! He's active, but not overactive, loves walks, but particularly likes hanging out with his human - he is a coach potato. He's not very big, short legs, long body which means counter spaces are safe!" He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Kobey would do great with an active family familiar with herding breeds - although comparative to other herding dogs, he's a bit of a couch potato. He is a very smart, sweet boy who can't wait to find his furever home!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
