Shorty is a neutered 1-2 year old male chihuahua mix, weighing about 8 lbs. He's a little guy with a big heart and a silly little personality. Shorty was picked up by animal control as a stray in east TN, where he was rescued by Paws Rescue League and placed in a loving foster home. He is now in CT in another adoring foster home where he is gaining confidence every day. Shorty is a sweet boy, but he is initially nervous and scared when he meets a new person - he is NOT a fear biter though! He just wants to stay far away from you when he first meets you. However, he warms up after a day once he knows you are safe. Currently in his CT foster home, after just a couple days of knowing he is in a safe place, he now comes up to his foster mom and looks for pets and kisses. He also loves when she places him on her lap where he loves to have his ears rubbed. His favorite thing to do is to play fetch in the kitchen with his squeaky toys and to steal his foster dad's slippers when he sits down to watch TV! He also enjoys playing with his smaller foster siblings and has a goofy personality. His favorite play partner is a 3 month old german shepard puppy and they love to wrestle. He initially needs a patient human who will give him at least a couple days to feel safe, and then you will have his heart. Once he warms up, he is a loving, fun little guy and a wonderful companion! Shorty is good with other dogs, and we feel he would likely be fine with cats (but he has not been cat tested). Due to his petite size, he would do best in home with no small children who may try to chase him. He is medically up to date, pad trained, and crate trained.
