Hi I’m Charlie! I’ve been with my CT foster mom for about a month now and I don’t understand why I haven’t been adopted yet. I may be a bit older, but I’m the bestest boy in a lot of other ways. I’m potty trained and even taught myself the pee pads that my foster brothers use. I enjoy being around them, but honestly I prefer my people or a quiet spot in the yard where I can sit by myself and enjoy the sun. I still play well with them though, and am good about sharing my toys. I’m not possessive and am even self-regulated with food! Did I mention I like my people? I give little “aroos” for attention and once you pick me up I will aggressively flop into you for extended cuddles. And brace for the puppy dog eyes, because I will stare at you with contentment no matter where you are. I can’t wait to meet my furever family, and I promise I will be your most loyal companion. Charlie is a oving, 6 year old neutered male chihuahua/pug mix, weighing about 10 lbs. He and his brother Maxx, are being fostered by the same CT foster mom who absolutely adores them. They are the right mix of spicy and sweet (typically for chihuahuas and those who love them, lol) Charlie is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. He is good with other dogs who are a similar size (has not been around larger dogs), good with older kids 10+ due to his shyness. This sweet senior gentleman is good with all other dogs, good with people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. He has not been cat tested, but we feel he would probably do ok with cats. He recently had a dental cleaning, has documented alopecia (hair loss, age-related), and has a heart murmur (age-related, stable). He is not neutered due to the heart murmur. He is a very easygoing guy who just loves to sleep most of the day and hang out with his people. He would do best in a quiet low-activity home, ideally with a fenced-in yard. He doesn't make much noise. Barely barks, and doesn't eat much food. He's the perfect dog for a senior or a person who doesn't want a lot of activity or noise in their home He is medically up to date and crate trained. He would do best in a home with a fenced in yard as he has poor recall and can get lost if somone isn't paying attention to him.
