Meet Peppa, a super sweet ~8 year old spayed female terrier mix, weighing about 30 lbs! This girl is affectionate and loves to give kisses. She is a super love bug and has a good amount of energy for an older girl!  Peppa is good with other dogs, all people, and kids. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Athena, a super cute 3 month old female dachshund/Australian Cattle Dog puppy!  She looks like she may have some lab in her as well. Athena and her siblings (Orion, Alastor, and Guinevere) were born to mama Mystic on 11/16/2024. We expect them to grow to medium sized dogs (mom is about 19 lbs, we don't know anything about dad).  Athena is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! She is a social girl and is good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs! From Athena's current foster: " "🖤 Athena 🖤 If it’s cuddled by your side, eating a bone or playing with her toys, Athena is your girl! She loves to play alone or with a side kick, gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids. A puppy who only is looking to give and get love. She is crate trained and potty trained, and will cry by the door to let you know she needs to go outside. She is a little timid at first, but comes out of her shell fast. She is so sweet and gentle, and loves to give kisses. Athena has so much love to give and really is an amazing little pup who is looking for her forever home." Athena is medically up to date (age appropriate) and is ready for her furever home!  Apply to meet this sweet girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Crystal, a super sweet 1-2 year old female chihuahua! Crystal was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN when she was pregnant, and she and 9 other chihuahuas were taken in by Paws Rescue League. Crystal is the loving mama of the Gem litter pups, born on 12/31/24. They are almost old enough to find their furever homes, and Crystal is ready to find hers too!  Crystal is a timid girl and takes time to warm up to new people, but she wants so badly to love and be loved. She has been an excellent, patient mama to her pups and is a very sweet girl.  She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Crystal is medically up to date (will be spayed prior to adoption), pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Magic, an ~8 year old neutered male cocker spaniel mix. Magic was in bad shape when he was taken into rescue, but with some time and love, he has really blossomed. This senior boy is blind and does not hear very well, but he has plenty of life left in him. He is now ready to find a furever home to live out the rest of his days. Magic is a sweet old man who is good with other dogs and people. Due to his age and blindness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. He is an easy, low maintenance dog who sleeps a lot and really doesn't require much.  He is medically up to date and is housebroken with a dog door. Apply to meet this sweet senior gentleman today! Meet the Highway 68 litter: Genesis, Livingston, Miller, Lantana, Maryetta, Pomona, and Pevine! While we are unsure of their breed mix, our best guess is some mix of Australian Shepherd and poodle/doodle (or possibly wire terrier) as most of the pups have a wiry coat. Based on their age and current size, we expect them to grow to medium sized dogs. Genesis is a female puppy. Her coloring is beautiful and unique, with a brown/black brindle and a little bit of white on her chest, paws, and nose. Such a pretty girl!  These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Genesis is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. She is medically up to date (age appropriate) and ready for her furever home. Apply to meet this sweet girl today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. She is now ready to retire from mama duty and find a furever home of her own!  Baby is a friendly girl who gets along with everyone - dogs, people, and kids! Expected to be good with cats. She enjoys sleeping on laundry piles and walking in the snow!  Baby will be available at our adoption event on 2/23 at Petco in Dayville, CT! Applications are being accepted now and we will review applications based on best fit for her as the event gets closer.
