Meet the Highway 68 litter: Genesis, Livingston, Miller, Lantana, Maryetta, Pomona, and Pevine! One of the siblings (Livingston) completed a DNA test, and the results came back as 54% poodle, 12% Australian Cattle Dog, and 10% German Shepherd (see full results in photos). All of the pups in this litter have scruffy coats except for Miller. We expect them to grow to medium sized dogs. These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Maryetta is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. From Maryetta's current foster: "Maryetta is a wonderful puppy! She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She is playful, goofy, smart, and affectionate! Loves to jump in your lap and give kisses. She is crate trained, pee pad trained, working on outdoor house breaking. She has been fostered with other dogs and a cat and does well with all! She has really been a joy to foster but she is ready for her furever home! She would make a great addition to any family. Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
