Norm (Norman), Babs (Barbara), and John Wayne, were found as stray puppies at around 7 weeks old, we were asked if our rescue can help and take them to get them vetted and find them furever loving homes. Norm is your typical playful, silly, curious and friendly puppy. He needs an adopter who will take the time to train him and socialize him properly. At 11 weeks old, Norm doesnt know much, and will need a pateint adopter who will guide him, as well as love and care for him. Norm will grow to be a large size dog. Our best guess is he will likely be between 40-60lbs full grown. He is 11 weeks old so he is NOT potty trained or crate trained yet. He is medically UTD on his vaccines and preventatives. He is 11 weeks old, so he has no developed any negative behaviors, and is eager to begin training, and learn to be the best furbaby ever! show less

He is good with other dogs, kids, and all people. Hes a little too playful for the cats liking. But he only wants to play with them. Bozlee is neutered and up to date on all his age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. He is HW negative. Crate trained, housebroken and knows a handful of basic commands like "No", "Down", and "sit". Echo was found as a stray in TN. He was picked up by local animal control and placed on a 3 day stray hold. After the 3 days if Echo didnt get picked up by his owner, or a person or rescue didnt save him, he would have been euthanized for space. Paws Rescue League Inc saves dogs from kill shelters, dogs who are on the euthanasia list (death row) due to no fault of their own. We save many dogs from the situation like Echos. Echo now has a chance to find a wonderful loving furever home. Once we saved him we placed him in a foster home in TN. We have learned by Tysons behaviors, and body language that he had been abused in the past. He will shudder and crouch in fear if you move quickly behind him. He braces himslef expecting to get hit. THIS BREAKS OUR HEARTS that someone could hurt this little fluffy fella. Tyson also has an eye thay he can not see out of, due to a past injury that could have been abuse related, Fortunately he can see out of one of his eyes. He is a sweetheart of a dog, he is timid, and he can get frightened quickly, but with a loving home who will continue to work with him to show him HE IS LOVED, AND HE IS SAFE, and not all people are BAD. Echo has so much potential to be an amazing dog, he already is! He just needs a family who will help build his confidence so he no longer shudders in fear at some movements. Echo is a 3 year old neutered male Aussie, havanese mix, he is about 25lbs. He has a long coat that will requrie some grooming. He is good with people, but is shy at first and can get spooked very easily, which is completely understandable considering his past. He has not been cat tests, so we do not know how he would do with cats. He is goos with dogs, but does better with larger dogs or dogs his size, the little ones can sneak up on him and scare/confuse him. He is house broken and crate trained. Echo would love a home with another dog, bigger than him, or a home where he is the only dog. He would do well in a family with older children who can respect a dogs space, or a home with no children. He would love a fenced in yard, and thats is prefered for him. Frankie (Sinatra) and Joey (Bishop) were saved by Paws Rescue League Inc. When someone contacted a different rescue for help with 2 puppies they wanted to get rid of. The rescue they contacted were closed for intake due to the sheer volume of unwanted and abandoned animals. They shared with other rescues for help, and Paws Rescue League stepped in. Frankie and Joey are both typical 13 week old puppies. They are exploring the world around them, practicing potty training and crate training. They are both sweet pups. We believe they are Great Pyrenees Labrador mixes. They have webbed feet, and and rear dew claws. Frankie is a 13 week old male, with a chocolate coat, and mesmerizing baby blue eyes! He is age appropriate medically up to date. He is NOT neutered yet. He is currently 13 weeks old, and will be a large dog when full grown. Most vet will suggest neuter at a year old for him. We are waiting for better pics of Frankie and Joey. show less

Sassy is a sweet, loving girl, who is so grateful for every day she has, and grateful for her people. She just adores people, and loves to be near them. She likes to give hugs and get hugs. She is good with kids and with other dogs (cats are unknown). She is crate trained, housebroken ( using a doggy door), she knows her basic commands, "Sit", "Down", "Paw", "Come". She has good recall and comes when she is called. She is goos on leash for walks. She was rescued from a home where she was unloved, and unwanted and not cared for. She escaped and was found and brought back to the owner, and the owner said they didnt want her. So Paws Rescue League rescued her and placed her into a foster home and got her fixed, and fully vetted and ready for a furever home. She has blossomed into this big love bug. Her southern foster mom said if she didnt own 6 dogs already she would adopt her in a heartbeat. She is just so thankful to be in a better place, and thankful to finally feel loved. We promised her we would find her a home where she will be loved, and wanted. show less

Sunny, and his non biological sibling Archie were saved last minute, they were less than hours away from euthanasia. Sunny and Archie, and another dog were picked up as strays. Their owner was notified his 3 dogs were at animal control. The volunteers told us (Paws Rescue League Inc), that the 3 dogs were in the front kennels, and could see thier owner when he came in. They saw him, and they started wagging their tails, and barking as if to say "Hey Dad, were over here! Were so happy to see you! They told us their owner didnt even look in their direction, he signed custody of his 3 dogs over to the county animal control. And left. As the 3 dogs watched. Confused, heartbroken and scared. The animal control we save dogs from will euthanise a stray after 3 days if the owners dont pick the dog up, or if the dog doesnt get adopted or rescued. If a dog is surrendered by their owner the dog has only 24 hours to find an adopter or a rescue. Since Archie, Sunny, and their brother were already at animal control for 3 days now, and their owner surrendered them. They were scheduled for euthanasia. The local county humane society reached out to us about the 3 dogs at animal control who were out of time. We were able to save Sunny, and Archie in time, but sadyl not their other brother. Sunny is a wonderful dog, who loves to play and run with all dogs, of any size, or gender. We believe he is about 2 years old, and a bassett hound/jack russel mix. He is just a very happy boy. He got his name becuase he likes to bask in the sun, and his sweet disposition. Sunny is good with people, we suggest kids older than 8 years old. as he can get a little timid at times, He gets along with all dogs. We are unsure on cats. He is good in his crate, and is house broken. He is neutered, and up to date on all his vetting needs, and current on preventatives. Sunny is just so greatful to be alive, and a joy to be around. show less

Derk was surrendered to Paws Rescue League because his family could no longer care for him. Derk comes from a home where he was raised with children, other dogs and cats. Currently he is being fostered in a TN foster home, with other dogs, children and cats as well. Derk is good with other dogs, a little too curious and playful for cats (especially for cats who are not used to dogs). Derk should go to a family with no children or with older children who understand how to respect a dogs space. Derk is a large dog, who sometimes doesnt realize hes not a small lap dog and can knock small kids over unintentionally. He loves to relax and take naps on a dog bed or couch, but also enjoys going for walks or having a fenced in yard to run around in. Derk is a good boy and would benefit from an owner or family with breed expereince. He is a happy, silly, land seal looking for his furever home. 9 show less

Rain and Rufus are 5 month old American Staffordhire Terrier/Austrailian Cattledog mixes. Rain and her brother were brought to animal control as owner surrenders. Which unluckily for them, was in Greeneville TN, which has a 24 hour hold on Owner Surrendered dogs. After 24 hrs if someoen doesnt come and adopt them, or a rescue doesnt take them, they would be euthanzied. Lukcily for them, Paws Rescue League Inc saw them, and saved them with the help of the local humane society. Rain is a beautiful girl with a diluted grey brindle coat. She is 5 months old, a typical puppy where she loves to play with everything and everyone. She is currently having a wonderful time at her CT foster home. But she would love to have a family to call her own. She is crate trained, and is working on mastering potty training. Her foster mom says Rain and her brother Rufus are such well behaved puppies, its shocking to her! They love all dogs, people, children, and would do fine in a home with dog saavy cats. show less

Dublin is a shepard mix, about 3 monthd old and male. He is said to be a sweet heart, loves attention. Still a young puppy who is learning the ropes of housebreaking, and teething. Amstel and her siblings Guinness and Stella Artois were found as strays near a shopping center. Their owner had dumped the three puppies in the parking lot of a shopping center becasue they no longer wanted to care for them. Concerned citizens called animal control who came to pick these puppies up. Once at animal control the state law gives them 3 THREE days time for them to find an adopter or rescue. If no one adopts, or no rescue takes them, they are euthanized to make space for other strays that need to be picked up. THREE DAYS. Paws Rescue League saved these 3 babies with the help of the local Humane Society. They were placed in a foster home, and recieved age appropriate vet care. They will be heading to New England the second week of April 2022 to find their furever homes. Amstel is a typical puppy, loving, playful, curious, and friendly. She is not yet potty trained, or crate trained. She is good with all people and all other animals. Their foster parents say he is just the sweetest little guy. All 3 puppies just love to play and cuddle with people. They are estimated to be about 10 weeks old. show less

Luna is an almost 1 year and 8 month old AKC certified German Shepard Dog that a family got from a breeder, The family put a lot of time and training and care into Luna. She has completed basic obedience school, and started training as a service dog. The family have worked with her to fetch items, all in all she is a very smart girl, very sweet, well mannered girl. But sadly the family were unable to keep (due to her owner getting sick with covid 19, and her extended family did not want to care for Luna. They were asked to go by and feed her while Lunas owner was sick and in the hospital, they were not going by regularly to feed her. Sadly that has led her to loose close to 20lbd ) They reached out to people who work in rescue. Which led to Paws Rescue League being contacted and asked if we could take her in to rescue. Luna is good with other dogs, she was living in a home with a small maltese/yorkie sized dog and is really good with her. She is good with children but we suggest older children who can respect a dogs personal space ( Luna is a large dog and can knock over a small child unintentionally). We suggest children 12 years and up. She has not been tested with cats yet. She is good on leash, does very well on car rides. She is crate trained, and fully housebroken. She is a dog who needs a family who has experience with the breed (this is a must), a fenced in yard so she can have a place to burn her energy, and play out doors (also a must). She loves hikes, and would make an amazing agility partner. Her fosters say she is always so grateful for her people, and shows it in many ways. show less

Basil found her self at a kill shelter after her owner got sick, and was on hospice. None of her family came for her, so she had 3 days for someone to adopt her or a rescue to save her. Not only is she a black dog, which seem to be the least choosen dogs when someone adopts from a shelter, but she is also an older gal, at about 5- 6 years old. Knowing the odds of someone choosing to adopt her were slim, Paws Rescue League saved her before she was euthanized. Basil is a sweet 5-6 year old female lab mix, who currently weighs about 80lbs. She is about 20lbs oveweight, and we have since put her on a diet to try to get her girlish figure back. Basil is good with everyone, super sweet, and easy going. She is good with other dogs, and unphased by cats. She is good with children, we recommend older children, or children who know how to respect a dogs space. She is crate trained and fully housebroken, walks well on leash. She has a very relaxed, easy going personality and a great disposition. She is just happy to be out of that scary shelter and around people who are kind to her. She is looking for her furever home in new england. show less

Emma was saved from euthanasia from a kill shelter, she was found as a stray with another small dog Odie, who we also saved. They had 3 days for an owner to claim them, or a rescue or adopter to save them and get them out of the animal control shelter. Emma was terrified in the shelter, and the staff used a catch pole to pull her out which scared her emmensley. Emma is a super sweet loving girl, who is shy and timid, and gets scared in situations like Animal Control, and the vet. But at home with her people she is nothing but love. She is wonderful with cats, she wants to play with all the dogs, and is friendly with everyone. We suggest no kids or older kids due to her fear at times. An expereineced adopter would be amazing for her! She would love a yard to run around in, and other doggo friends in the home to help build her confidence. Emma is about 30lbs, she is a medium sized dog. She is about a year old, and is spayed and UTD on all her vetting and HW negative. She is crate trained but definetley preferes to sleep on a dog bed or couch or with you. She is housebroken. She is currently in her New England foster home waiting for a family of her own. show less

Tuesday was found as a stray and picked up by animal control in TN, along with another dog, that we have saved named Monday. In TN, the county we save dogs from, they are a kill shelter. Meaning they will euthanize for space. Each dog has THREE DAYS for its owner to come claim them, or an adopter or a rescue to pick them up before the 3 days are up. Or they will be euthanized for space. As there are SO MANY other dogs on the street, that need to be picked up and placed in the shelter to see if an owner, adopter or rescue can be found for those other dogs. Paws Rescue League waits until we know that no one is coming for the dog, no one has tried to adopt the dog and no other rescues have tried to save the dog. We work alongside the local humane society and we ask that they call us before a dog is euthanized, so we can do all we can to save that dog, and many others. Tuesday was found as a stray with a dog we have now named Monday. Tuesay is about 1-2 years old, male sheep dog mix. He is long haired, and was pretty dirty and matted when we saved him from the shelter. He was scared and timid at first, the shelter is a scary place for dogs. He was placed in his TN foster home, where he has slowly come around. He loves other dogs, and finds comfort in them. He is nervous at first meeting new people but is a complete sweetheart. He is great in the crate and doesnt make any noise. He is housebroken, and a submissive type personality. He would do good in a quieter home, less busy with a family who can help him build his confidence and to see the world in a positive light. He is cute as a button, but the poor boy has not had the best start to life. show less

Apple is a 3 year old female chihuahua, she has a merle coat, and weighs 11llbs. She is the mom of the Apple litter, to Granny Smith, Fuji, Gala, Braeburn, Cortland and McIntosh Apple, but she is still just a puppy herself! She has a very sweet personality once she gets to know you. At first she can be a bit nervous and frightened, but once she realzies you are there to love her and care for her she opens right up! Apple was surrendered to a shelter, with a male chihuaha named Pecan, whom we believe is the dad of Apples babies. She does have one baby who has hair, not fur, so we are suscpecting there is more than 1 dad to the litter of pups! Apple is a sweet girl, and gets excited when she sees her person(people) and taop dances, and stands on her hind legs to try to greet you. She adores the foster mom, and is ok with the foster dad, and their kids, but really Apple love her foster momma! She is crate trained, and potty trianed and pad trained. UTD on all vetting, and will be spayed prior to adoption. She was saved on Christmas day along with 18 other dogs, who would have ended up being euthanized if Paws Rescue league didnt work with the shelter that was over corwded and needed help saving some of the dogs. Apple arrived to New Egland pregnant, and she had her babies on New Years day! Apple and her babies are doing fantasitc and are safe, and comfortable in their foster home until the puppies reach 8 weeks old. Then Apple, and her puppies will be ready to go to their furever homes. show less

Cass is a 6 and a half year old female Pug/Boston terrier mix. She used to have a home, and a family who loved her and cared for her, but her mommy passed away a few months ago. Cass and her sibling found themselves alone in a shelter, their whole worlds tipped upside down. Paws Rescue League Inc tries to save all dogs, not just easy to adopt puppies. Cass is a loving girl who deserves to have a family and live! She has many years left to give a lucky family. A little about Cass's personality.. She is FULLY house broken, and crate trained and she has perfect indoor manners. She knows most of her basic commands. She is passed the puppy stage and does not chew furniture or items that are not hers. She is sweet, and friendly, loves everyone, of all ages. Woman, men, kids, she loves them. She is good with other dogs, of different sizes, she is unphased by cats and does not mind them around. Cass has a laid back temperament, she really is just looking for a happy home, and a warm bed at night, a few treats here and there and some head scratches. Cass walks well on leash, and wants us to let you know she is NOT an avid hiker.. she is more of a calm stroller. She is 27lbs, and can easily fit and adjust into any size home. She is a couch potato and is the perfect company to binge watch your next series! She loves to nap, and she is very quiet (except when she snores) We keep telling her that her NEW family is out there, we just have to wait for them to find her!
