A Journey of Resilience and Love: The beautiful Morel (also known as Peggy), is an 11-month-old Dachshund mix, whose spirit has overcome incredible adversity. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morel's path to happiness has been paved with challenges, but her resilience shines brighter. In her past, Morel had to fight for every scrap of food, leading to resource guarding. But with patience, love, and training, she's learning to trust and share. Her current foster reports remarkable progress, as she now eats alongside her foster sister without issue. Morel is being fostered with a puppy who gets very excited to play with her, and Morel will correct her behavior, but for the most part, they rough house while being carefully monitored. Despite her tumultuous past, Morel exhibits no aggression toward cats, demonstrating her capacity for harmony and coexistence. Morel seeks a compassionate individual or couple willing to understand her unique needs, and to continue training and socialization. In return, Morel promises unwavering loyalty, cuddles, and joyful companionship. Due to her rough beginnings, she is looking for a home without young children. Morel is medically up to date, partially housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this sweet girl today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!
