Meet Emerald, a SUPER cute male chihuahua mix puppy! Emerald and his siblings (the Gem litter) were born to mama Crystal on 12/31/2024.  Emerald is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone (dogs, cats, people, and kids)! Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper socialization and training, will grow into wonderful dogs! Emerald will be available for adoption as soon as he reaches 8 weeks old! We are accepting applications on him now. Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet the Highway 68 litter: Genesis, Livingston, Miller, Lantana, Maryetta, Pomona, and Pevine! While we are unsure of their breed mix, our best guess is some mix of Australian Shepherd and poodle/doodle (or possibly wire terrier) as most of the pups have a wiry coat. Based on their age and current size, we expect them to grow to medium sized dogs. Genesis is a female puppy. Her coloring is beautiful and unique, with a brown/black brindle and a little bit of white on her chest, paws, and nose. Such a pretty girl!  These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Genesis is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. She is medically up to date (age appropriate) and ready for her furever home. Apply to meet this sweet girl today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet one of a kind, Mystic! This adorable 1-year-old mini Aussie Dachshund mix is packed with personality, weighing in at 18 pounds of pure delight, and tail wags! Sadly, Mystics story didn't begin with tender loving care. She was found in Tennessee, heavily pregnant and completely shut down. A shell of herself, she had lost her spark and her love for life. She was so unsure about what was in store for her. However, with the love and care of her TN and New England foster families, she has blossomed into the sweetest, most fun-loving dog around! Her tail now wags endlessly, and she is always ready to shower everyone with love and affection. Her playful nature ensures that she's always up for an adventure, whether it's a romp in the park or a snuggle session on the couch. But what really sets Mystic apart is her incredible intelligence. This clever canine has already mastered the art of communicating her needs, cleverly carrying her leash to the door when she's ready for an outing. And let's not forget those stunning eyes! Momma Mystic boasts gorgeous heterochromatic peepers, with one browne eye and one blue eye, adding an extra layer of uniqueness to her already captivating personality. Mystic is now ready to find her forever home, where she'll continue to thrive and bring joy to her new family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will brighten up your day with her infectious enthusiasm and adorable antics, tail wags, and a big smile every time she greets you, Mystic is the perfect furry friend for you! Pepper came into the rescue with Hercules, she was a stray found tied to a fence in east TN. She is currently in a foster home in NY by the CT border. Pepper’s foster family adores her! She is a very sweet, spunky girl with a big personality. She is such a fun dog to be around. She lives with big and small dogs in her foster home and gets along great with everyone. She would do well with dogs that don’t mind sharing toys as she likes to steal from her foster siblings when playing. She also is great with cats. Pepper loves attention so she certainly wouldn't mind being your only pet. Pepper is a very playful dog and would benefit from someone relatively active who will help get her energy out. She can also be a couch potato and loves to snuggle up with you. She is great in the car and loves to go on adventures with you.  Pepper is medically up to date and housebroken. Meet Duck, a super friendly 1.5 year old neutered male Dalmatian/hound mix! He is an expert at using puppy dog eyes to get snackos from his foster family. He weighs about 50 lbs currently but is underweight and needs to fill out a bit (his foster parents are working on this!). Duck is best described as a big LOVE! He was a staff favorite at the animal control facility he was at before being taken into rescue by Paws Rescue League. He loves to cuddle and really enjoys butt scratches and belly rubs! He is a smart boy who already knows some commands like "sit" and "paw" - he is a fast learner and eager to please! He loves to chill out on an assortment of dog beds after playtime with his foster siblings & chomping on squeaky toys. Duck loves other dogs, people, and kids.

Lantana is a beautiful tri colored female! These sweet babies were found abandoned in a tote bag on the side of the road in East TN when they were just a few days old 😢 They were named after roads in the area and dubbed the Highway 68 litter. Lantana is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. She is medically up to date (age appropriate) and working on housebreaking. Apply to meet this sweet girl today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Weaver, a sweet ~8 years young spayed female beagle/shepherd mix, weighing about 30 lbs! Weaver was seen being dumped out of a pick up truck at a car wash in east TN (sadly, dumping/abandoning dogs is very common in this area). She was dumped on a street called Weaver Pike, which is how she got her name. Fortunately for Weaver, she was taken into rescue and is now ready to find her furever home and put her past behind her! Weaver is a sweet, friendly girl who is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. From her foster: "Weaver is very sweet and gets along well with other dogs. She has low-medium energy and is a great size pup! She is amazing with house training and her tail never stops wagging!! Despite her hound heritage, she doesn't appear to be much of a barker. An easy girl!" She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this darling gal today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Ivy, a super cute 2-3 year old spayed female chihuahua! Ivy was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of which were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Ivy is now in a New England foster home and is ready to find her furever home!  Ivy is a shy girl and takes time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is a very sweet girl! She is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we assume she would be fine with cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. Ivy is medically up to date, pee pad trained, and working on outdoor housebreaking. Apply to meet this darling girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Harley, a super cute 9 month old neutered male chihuahua/maltese mix! This sweet boy is not expected to get much bigger. He is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, but we assume he would do well with cats. From Harley's current foster: "Learning more about Harley. He loves the attention of other dogs but is sometimes too much. He listens well when they are done with him though. He is super sweet and loves to be loved by people. Working on walking on a leash, he is getting better. Sleeps in his crate all night with no problems. He is a sweet boy that just wants love." Harley is medically up to date, partially housebroken (he does mark some, which is improving following his recent neuter), and crate trained.
