Meet PQ, an adult spayed female (approx. 6 years old) Yorkie!   We are accepting applications for PQ now!  PQ is crate/house trained and gets along with small dogs. PQ has not been cat tested. PQ is on daily medication for seizures. Note from her foster: Looking for a dog who will act like she's been your forever? Meet PQ a 6 year old sweetheart with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. The moment she got here she was pure love. Giving kisses and love from the start. She is happy to explore and meet new people. She has a happy go lucky personality and can ignore her very jealous foster brother. She loves to explore, sniff, and check in on her people when she walks. Enjoys looking out the window and cuddling on cozy blankets. She enjoys a squeeky toy and has a fun growl while she plays. As soon as you call her name she is running right to you with kisses.  PQ is the kind of special girl who will make you feel like she was always meant to be yours. If you're looking for a loving, affectionate, playful companion who wants to be part of the family in every moment---PQ is ready to come home. Apply to meet this special pup today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Vixen, a super cute ~3 month old female husky mix puppy! We are unsure of breed mix, but isn't she 100% adorable?! 😍 Based on their age and current size, we expect this litter to grow to medium/large dogs.  Vixen and her 8 siblings (the Reindeer litter) were sadly dumped at one of our rescue partners in TN when they were about 3 weeks old, without their mom. The man who dumped them stated that it was an oops litter and that he did not want to deal with them. The rescue tried to convince the man to let them help with spaying mom to prevent any future litters, but he refused to give her up. PRL took the 9 pups and placed them with our wonderful neonatal foster, who has nurtured them and helped them grow into the most perfect fat, happy little puppies! 🥰They are now ready to find their furever homes! Vixen is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. Huskies are an energetic, smart working breed who typically require a high level of physical and mental exercise/stimulation to keep them happy and out of trouble. From Vixen's current foster:  "Vixen is a pistol! She is the most affectionate little girl I’ve ever encountered and happily melts into cuddles with all humans and dogs alike! She has no fear. I think she’ll do great with any family of any kind!" These cuties are medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and working on housebreaking. Apply to meet Vixen today! Meet Mahogany aka Maggie, a sweet and shy ~2 -3 year old spayed female small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Maggie was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in Kentucky along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). She is currently being fostered in CT and is ready to find her furever home!  Maggie is a shy/nevous girl who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. She wants so badly to connect with people, but she is scared and unsure. Once she knows you are safe, she is a sweet girl. She is looking for someone who will be patient with her and give her a little time and space to come to them on her own terms. She is worth the wait! 💕  Maggie is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to her nervous/timid nature). She has not been cat tested, but we feel she would likely be fine with cats.  She is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained. Meet Trenton, a SUPER sweet ~2 year old neutered male terrier mix, weighing about 52 lbs! This handsome boy has a unique silvery taupe coat that might just be the SOFEST thing you've ever felt!  Trenton was pulled from an overcrowded kill shelter in east TN in August 2024. He was adopted shortly afterwards and now, due to no fault of his own, he has been returned to PRL a year later 😢  Trenton is a very friendly, outgoing boy who is great with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats - but we have a feeling he would probably love them and want to be their BFF. He is gentle, loving, and affectionate and he LOVES to be with his people. He is truly an absolute sweetheart of a dog! 🥰  Trenton does have some separation anxiety, so he would do best in a home with a remote worker, a retiree, or someone who utilizes doggy daycare when they leave the home for extended periods of time (he plays great with other dogs). He panics in a wire crate and will try to escape, but he does much better in a plastic travel crate.  Trenton is a very special boy and an amazing companion, who just wants to love and be loved. In the right home, Trenton will thrive.  He is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet Trenton today! Meet Molly, a SUPER sweet female senior terrier/lab mix, weighing about 28 lbs! This older lady is estimated to be about 10 years old, but she still has so much life left in her! Molly was sadly dumped at an overcrowded kill shelter in east TN before being taken into rescue and placed into a loving foster home. Molly is now being fostered in southern NH and is ready to fund her furever home! While Molly's initial intake paperwork at the shelter noted that she was possibly deaf, she seems to hear ok for a 10 year old dog. She has the best temperament and is very friendly, loving, and well mannered! She does well with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. We can't for the life of us understand how this gem of a dog ended up in a shelter, but we sure are happy that she is out of the shelter environment and getting spoiled by her foster family like she deserves! 💕  Molly is a Velcro dog who will happily follow you around the house and join you on car rides. She does have a bit of separation anxiety, so she would be happiest in a home with a retiree or someone who works from home. She is very laid back and low maintenance, truly a very special girl who will make a wonderful companion! From Molly's current foster:  "Molly is my shadow, she loves everyone and absolutely loves to be pet and cuddled. She will for sure let you know when she wants more, she has some spunk in her and has enjoyed several rounds of play with all the dogs and the cat 🐈! She is an awesome companion dog, loves to go for car rides and just be near her person. She taps on the slider to be let in/out and no accidents at all so far!" Meet Atticus, a SUPER sweet and lovable ~4 year old neutered male terrier/Boxer/lab mix (see pic of Embark DNA results), weighing about 54 lbs! This special boy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. He spent some time in a shelter before being taken into rescue and transported up north, where he has been with his foster family for almost a year now. His foster family absolutely ADORES him and they don’t understand how he hasn’t been adopted yet, and neither do we! Atticus is a friendly, goofy lovebug who just wants to love and be loved 🥰 He also thinks he is a lap dog and he dares you to tell him otherwise! 😂 He has a zest for life and you can tell by the way he looks at you with such love in his eyes that he is DEEPLY thankful for being given a second chance. He will make you laugh every single day with his silly antics, and then he will happily be your little spoon when you're ready for bed. He is also very smart and knows many commands, he is food motivated and a fast learner!  This handsome guy is a true social butterfly! He absolutely LOVES people, and he is excellent with kids. He loves vigorous pets and butt scratches, and he will happily wiggle his WHOLE body with excitement when you give him attention! He gives the best hugs and kisses and makes the cutest like piggy noises when he is happy 🐷  Atticus does well with the resident dogs in his foster home, but he is dog selective and is typically not a fan of large fluffy dogs or dominant dogs. He tends to do better with dogs who are smaller than him. He does have some resource guarding tendencies when it comes to other dogs and food/treats (we always recommend feeding dogs separately regardless). He has not shown any resource guarding tendencies with people, only with other dogs. He has not been cat treated, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Atticus came to us with some reactivity to other dogs, which has unfortunately caused him to not "show" well at adoption events. His foster family has been working hard with him on this, with the help of K9 Rehab in Watertown, CT. He is now e-collar trained and walks beautifully on leash, even surrounded by other dogs. We are SO proud of the amazing progress he has made! As part of their Underdog program, K9 Rehab has generously offered continued training classes to Atticus’s adopter for FREE!  Atticus’s ideal home is one where he will be a cherished family member and given the love and attention that he so deserves. He is happiest when he is with his people, so it is important that he goes to a home where he will be welcomed on the couch and in his human’s bed - he is the perfect snuggle buddy! Additionally, we would like to see Atticus go to someone who is willing to keep up with his training to help him be the best version of himself. He is a truly wonderful dog who will absolutely thrive in the right home, and we just know that home is out there. Atticus is medically up to date and housebroken. Apply to meet this special boy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. We are unsure of breed mix, but isn't she 100% adorable?! 😍 Based on their age and current size, we expect this litter to grow to medium/large dogs.  Blitzen and her 8 siblings (the Reindeer litter) were sadly dumped at one of our rescue partners in TN when they were about 3 weeks old, without their mom. Blitzen is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! These cuties are medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and working on housebreaking. Apply to meet Blitzen today! Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Marky Mark, an adorable 1 year old neutered male mixed breed dog, weighing about 25 lbs! He is full grown and the perfect portable size. Marky has the cutest short, stubby little legs and an iconic underbite! 🤩 Marky can be a bit shy and unsure of new people/dogs at first and will bark at them, but he warms up quickly once he gets to know you. He is gentle and he loves to cuddle with both his human and dog friends. He also loves to play! He is pretty mellow for a young dog and is happy to just hang around with his people. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  From Marky’s current foster:  “Marky says that he may be cautious of people when he first meets them, but to give him a day or two and he will become an absolute mini tank of goofiness, love, and affection. Plus he says to check out his snaggle-tooth! 🐶” He is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (he does mark a bit so has been wearing a belly band indoors - he was recently neutered, so we are hoping this will subside with time). Meet Percy, a super cute ~3 month old male lab mix puppy! He currently weighs about 15 lbs and we expect him to grow to a medium dog. Meet Nay Nay, a super cute ~8-9 year old spayed female long haired chihuahua mix, weighing about 10 lbs! She is deaf but don't let that scare you away - she manages just fine and is just like any other dog!  This sweet girl found herself at an overcrowded kill shelter in east TN, where she was very scared. We took her into rescue and placed her in a loving foster home, and she is now ready to head to New England to find her furever home! Nay Nay is good with other dogs and people. She has not been cat tested, however we feel she would likely do fine with cats. She has not been around young kids, so we are unsure how she would do with them.  She is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this pretty girl today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Mars, a super cute ~3 month old male small/medium terrier mix puppy, currently weighing about 15 lbs! Mars and his siblings (Bruno, Bandit, Baxter, and Amore) were surrendered to PRL along with their mom, Mamcita (21 lbs) when they were about 6 weeks old. We believe they came from a hoarding/backyard breeding situation, which is sadly very common in TN.  We do not know what Dad is, but based on their age and current weight, we think they will likely grow to medium sized dogs (30-40 lbs is our best guess).  Mars is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. From Mars' current foster:  “Bruno and Mars are sweet, playful, crate trained, go potty outside if brought out frequently, super cuddly, smart little yin-yang squiggles!” He is medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and working on housebreaking (doing very well!).
