Meet Gaga, a SUPER cute female husky mix puppy! Gaga and her siblings were born to mama Aurora on 1/30/2025.  Gaga is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone (dogs, cats, people, and kids)! Gentle, plays softly, likes to cuddle and very attentive. She is the smallest out of the litter.  Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper socialization and training, will grow into wonderful dogs! Gaga will be available for adoption as soon as she reaches 8 weeks old! We are accepting applications on her now.  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Pretzel, a lively and lovable 3 month old Shih Tzu mix puppy. Weighing in at just 3 lbs, he's bursting with energy and affection. We were told mom is a Chihuahua, and his dad is a Maltese/Shih Tzu mix, making him a unique blend.  Pretzel is making great progress with pee pad training and loves playing with toys. He's a social butterfly, gettling along with dogs, and people. Due to his small size, we recommend children aged 10 and older. While he's yet to meet a feline friend, we assume he'll adapt beautifully to life with cats.  As a young puppy, Pretzel is a clean slate, eager to soak up training, socialization, and love. With gentle guidance and patience, he'll blossom into a devoted companion.  Pretzel will be available at our adoption event on 03/23 at Petco in Dayville, CT! Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. Apply to meet this adorable little guy today! Meet Smiley, a super cute 2 year old neutered male yorkie/chihuahua mix, weighing about 10 lbs! This sweet boy smiles a lot when he is nervous and when he is happy, which is how he got his name. We promised him he'd be doing more happy smiles than nervous ones once he was taken into rescue! 😃 Smiley is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we think he would likely do ok with cats. We recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space, due to his small size and the fact that he can be a bit timid at first. He is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken. Apply to meet this wonderful boy today! Can you give this sweet girl the loving home she's dreaming of for so long? Meet Sophia, a sweet 1 year old spayed female cur/hound mix, currently weighing about 40 lbs. She has a beautiful brindle and white coat, with spots on her legs. Sophia and her brother, Boxy, were sadly abandoned in TN. Boxy was adopted several months ago, but Sophia has been patiently waiting for the right family to come along.  Sophia is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. She is working on leash training. She can be shy at first but warms up! From Sophia's current foster:  “Sophia - low energy in the house but as soon as she goes out with other dogs, she’s a playful puppy. Loves being with other dogs, her whole demeanor changes! Sleeps like a rock at night - her favorite position for sleeping is on her back. If someone is looking for a companion for their dog, Sophia would be perfect - just enough play and energy for any dog.  When she first arrived, I had to carry her out of her transport and whenever she went outside. Doesn’t like to be rushed but always gets there with gentle prodding. Want a couch potato who will be a great companion for your younger or older dog? Sophia is the one for you. Her personality is typical hound, aloof and low key til it’s time to play. No problem with my cat - absolutely no interest.” Apply to meet Sophia today! You won't regret it!
