He does well in his crate, he will bark/whine a little but settles down quick. He is house trained and walks great on the leash with the other dogs. He is a cute little bundle of love. Laverne, Esmeralda, Madallaine, and Nessie are 4-5 month old Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix pups that were picked up as strays in TN and brought to animal control. PRL rescued these girls and brought them to New England to find their furever homes! Esmeralda currently weighs about 30 lbs and is expected to be a large dog. She is medically up to date, not yet spayed, working on housebreaking, and crate trained. Good with other dogs and people/kids, unsure about cats. From Esmeralda's current foster: "Esmeralda had a great first night had a bath and has been going potty outside each time no accidents at all. Slept in her crate with the door open and no accidents over night. She has been great on lead no pulling or reluctance. Does not mind the weather is very happy to go out and enjoy. Loves to be brushed. She really is such a smart, loving, happy girl and wants and is eager to please." show less

Meet Minerva, a young 8 year old shepherd/hound mix! Minerva was picked up as a stray in TN and has been in the shelter for months with no interest. Sadly, older dogs (especially large ones) are often overlooked by adopters who have their hearts set on taking home a young, cute puppy. Unlike a young puppy, Minerva is already housebroken and crate trained and does not have annoying puppy habits! Shelter staff describe Minerva as "the sweetest dog" and she is a staff favorite. Minerva weighs about 60 lbs, is medically up to date and spayed. She is good with people and other dogs. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. From Minerva's New England foster: "Minerva has settled in nicely. She’s really well behaved, playful (especially for an eight year old dog) but not hyper. She walks well on the leash, has been great with the dogs we encountered so far on walks, and goes in the crate with no problem (no whining, crying or barking). She’s going to make a great companion for some lucky adopter." show less

Tabitha is not a fan of other dogs, she prefers to be the apple of your eye as a solo dog! She is good with people, kids and CATS!. She can tolerate dogs from afar, but prefers not to compete with another dog in the home Tabitha seems to have an old injury where she occasionally looks like she has a slight limp, we have done x rays, and exams and there are no broken bones, no swelling of tissue, no issues that can be seen. We give her glucosamine to help with her joints. Tabitha arrives in New England on 11/4 and is eagerly awaiting her furever family! show less

Zero is one of 11 puppies born to Momma Sally. Sally was saved from the KILL SHELTER in the middle of October 2023. She was heavily pregnant about to burst. Sally gave birth to 11 healthy puppies the next day. Whom we named the Nightmare Before Christmas litter, as they arrived JUST before Halloween, and they would be ready for their FURever homes JUST before Christmas! Zero is a sweet, playful, happy pup, she will turn 8 weeks old on 12/03/2023! She and her siblings are very young puppies, who have their whole lives ahead of them! They are looking for families to love them, and show them about the world. Zero is not yet housebroken, but has been working on crate training, but she is still VERY young, and will need an adopter to train her. Zero loves all people, dogs, cats, and kids! Her momma Sally is about 40lbs, we expect these pups to grow to be about that size as well, a medium size. If you're interested in one of these darling pups, please submit an application! Pax was an owner surrender. They had purchased Pax from a "Mini Aussiedoodle breeder" and were expecting Pax to stay under 20lbs. He is currently about 28lbs at 6.5 months old. Pax does have a little more growing to do, but not much. We estimate he will be 40lbs or under full grown. Pax did not have the best start, it was very clear when we took him in that he had not been groomed in a long time. He had skin irritation from where his hair was matted, he also had extremely long front and hind nails, which regular walks would have naturally filed them down some. Pax was clearly not socialized with new people, or other dogs. He was TERRIFIED meeting any new people, and very unsure around other dogs. (This is why it is so important to start socializing your dogs when they are young, so they are not so afraid of new people and dogs.) Pax has been working with his foster and trainer in TN, he is doing very well working on socializing with other dogs, and with people. He is building up his confidence daily, and learning how to walk on leash. He knows "Sit", "Down", "Shake", and "Stay". He is very treat motivated, which helps with training. Pax is a wonderfully sweet boy who loves to cuddle his people, and thinks he's a lap dog. He loves attention from his people, he just needs a little confidence boost and a routine, and continued socialization to help him be the doggo he can be! Pax would love a well adjusted dog sibling to help show him the ropes and how to be a dog. show less

Casper was born to momma Darla on 09/29/2023. Darla was found as a stray heavily pregnant, large efforts were made to locate her owners to no avail. A wonderful woman took Darla to the vet for scans, to find out how far along and how many babies she should expect her to deliver. Its safe to know the number of babies to make sure all are delivered safely, and none get stuck inside mom, which is deadly for the baby, and mom. Darla had her 11 darling babies 2 weeks after being picked up off the streets in NC. Sadly at only a few days old one of the babies passed away, and a few days after that, a second baby passed away. Darla has 9 surviving pups, who are all goregeous pooches and are ready for their FURever homes! They are young enough that they will adapt to any animals, and people in their homes. Like toddlers, 8 week old puppies will learn what you teach them! These pups have been fostered in a home with small children, dogs (small and large), and cats. We suspect that Casper and Cami are Pyrenees mixes (different dad than the other pups), due to their larger size, fluffier coat, and back dew claws. From Casper's New England foster: "Last but certainly not least, our fuzzy tank, Casper aka captain Caspian! The biggest and fuzziest of the C litter, he is the jock. The captain of all things sports…He is the most independent, yet the leader of this C pack. He will make the best companion to any one who will have him!" show less

Green Bean and Casserole are sweet 9 week old lab/collie mix pups! Casserole is a friendly, sweet girl who loves all people, kids, and other dogs. She is playful with cats. Casserole is crate trained and working on housebreaking, and good on leash. She is a happy puppy with a lot of love to give, who she would do well in most homes. From Casserole's New England foster: "Casserole (who we are now calling Cali for short) has been such a joy to have around, and it's been great watching her gain more confidence with each day. She has such a goofy and loving personality, and looks up to my boys for everything. She is still so independent, but has LOVED making friends around the neighborhood! She is incredibly smart and so eager to please...she is very treat motivated, but still not food possessive at all. She doesn't cry or jump for her food...she knows to sit and wait for it, but she gets so excited she tap dances across the kitchen floor. Henry is good with other dogs and people. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is described as being fantastic with other dogs. He was an owner surrender to rescue. We were sent information about his parents, and his breeding info. Henry comes from a line of dogs who were breed to be working dogs. Border collies are herding dogs, and tend to have high intelligence, and will have high energy in a home unless they have a job to do. Breed experience is prefered for Henry. Cinnamon was saved from the kill shelter. She was saved just moments before she was set to be euthanized. We were working on trying to save her, but ALL of her foster volunteers homes were already FULL. We were not sure we would be able to find someone willing to open their home to her in time... THANKFULLY, some of our volunteers helped with picking her up ( she was picked up at 4:24, she was set to be euthanized at 4:30. They euthanize due to lack of space. Many good, healthy and happy dogs are euthanized for space every day across the USA. Our volunteer picked her up JUST barely in time, and another volunteer offered to take her in, even though she already had 5 other foster dogs. We were so grateful for her opening her heart and home to give Cinnamon a chance. Cinnamons foster called us the next day and said "Thank you for sending this little angel to me! She is a DREAM! She knows "Sit". "Down", "Shake", she loves the other dogs, and is just the sweetest little girl! " Cinnamon is about a year old, and weighs 38lbs. She is full grown and wont get any larger ( well, depending on her future diet and excersize routine). She has a GOREGOUS medium length red coat, with just a touch of white on her neck, behind her ears. Her foster mom says those are her angels wings, because someoen was looking out for her that day! Cinnamon is a wonderful pooch who is eager to please her people. She is very smart, and loves to learn! Her ideal home would be a young active couple who would like to take her on trips hiking, or traveling. She has her passport ready! And is patiently waiting for her new PAWfect family to come along ans scoop her up! show less
