Meet Dottie, a beautiful 1 year old spayed female Australian Cattle Dog/Rat Terrier mix! She is the perfect portable size at about 25 lbs and she has stunning heterochromatic eyes - one blue eye and one brown eye!  Dottie can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly (can take a little longer to warm up to some men) and is a very sweet, loving pup! She walks great on leash and is always up for a play session!  She is good with other dogs and people (she has a high prey drive so no cats for this girl).  Dottie loves to run and she would LOVE a fenced in yard of her own! Another young dog in the house to run and play with and to keep her company would be ideal.  Due to her breed mix and herding instincts, we recommend older kids 8+, or families experienced with herding breeds. Dottie is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (she has occasional accidents when not kept on a consistent schedule - we think a fenced yard with a doggie door would help a lot with this), and crate trained (she LOVES her crate!).  Apply to meet this special girl today and get ready for a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and unconditional love!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

**OCTOBER SPECIAL** This dog is eligible for $100 off the listed adoption fee, valid through the end of October! Offer applies to select dogs only, and adoption must be finalized by 10/31/2025 to take advantage of this offer. Meet Athena, a pretty 1.5 year old spayed female shepherd/husky/malamute mix with a soft, fluffy coat and soulful eyes that will melt your heart! She weighs about 43 lbs and is full grown. Athena was adopted as a young puppy and was sadly returned to the rescue one year later, after her family realized they did not have enough time for a young, energetic dog. That was five months ago, and this sweet girl is still looking for her REAL forever family who will not give up on her 😔. Athena is a very friendly, silly girl who wants to befriend everyone she meets, however she is still learning manners and boundaries, which she was unfortunately not taught as a young pup. Because of this, she is a bit like an overgrown, impolite puppy. Don't let that scare you away, as she is a VERY charming overgrown puppy, and she has SO much potential to develop into a truly wonderful dog.  She is extremely smart and is receptive to training, but she needs someone with the time and patience to work with her individually and help her learn to be the best doggo she can be! She has been attending training classes with her foster family and has been trained with an ecollar.  Athena loves other dogs and is very social and playful with dogs of all sizes! She does play rough and can be a bit much for some dogs. She does best with other young, high energy dogs with a similar play style. She is not great at reading other dogs' social cues and will need additional work in this area.  She is great with people and older kids 10+ (due  to her exuberant spirit, as she may unintentionally knock over small children). She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats.  Athena would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard where she can run free and burn off some energy! As a young herding breed, she needs adequate physical and mental stimulation to set her up for success. She would be a great match for an active family looking for a running and/or hiking buddy. She is also an excellent candidate for agility or training games.  Athena is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. **OCTOBER SPECIAL** This dog is eligible for $100 off the listed adoption fee, valid through the end of October! Offer applies to select dogs only, and adoption must be finalized by 10/31/2025 to take advantage of this offer. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy to spend your days snuggled up on the couch with, then this girl is the one for you! 🐶  Meet Trixie, a super sweet 4-5 year old spayed female terrier/lab mix, weighing about 75-80 lbs! This girl is a total LOVEBUG who loves everyone she meets! She has never met a stranger and just wants to love and be loved. Trixie loves to cuddle and give kisses! She also has the most stunning chocolate eyes! Trixie is a lower energy dog who does not require much to be happy. She is a wonderful companion and is perfectly content to spend most of her day lounging, as long as she gets one good walk and a little play time that is all she really needs! Trixie LOVES toys (especially balls), and she will do anything for a treat! She is good with other dogs (she prefers lower energy dogs like herself and is not a fan of rambunctious dogs in her face), cats, people, and kids. She loves to chew on a good bone and walks ok on leash (she does pull a bit, but is easily corrected). Trixie would love nothing more than a home to call her own, and she would do well in most home environments.  From Trixie's current foster:  "Fun fact about Trixie: her eyes are brown but both are a different shade! ✨🤎🧡 That’s right, it’s not the lighting or sun casting tricks it’s just her uniqueness that matches her personality. Trixie is a very sweet and low energy dog. She loves humans and has a drive to please. You’re instantly her best friend and she would love you even more if you throw her ball a few times. She’s good around my dogs but definitely lets them know she just wants to chill and be left out of the shenanigans. She loves loves loves toys but balls are her favorite (she’ll take them all if she can). The first day I brought her home she went around my yard picked up a toy, walked to the next one, picked that one up, onto to next, so on and so forth until she touched every one! Although she’s a big couch potato, her main focus is being next to you as much as possible." Trixie is medically up to date, crate trained, and housebroken. Apply to meet this gem of a girl today! WARNING: tiny, energetic, and utterly adorable Chihuahua mix alert!!! 😃  Hi! I'm Ruth, a tiny but mighty 6lb bundle of joy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I'm a parkour enthusiast in disguise (don't worry, I've got the landing skills to match my jumping abilities...mostly). I have lightning-fast reflexes and a passion for jumping, running, and generally being a tiny ball of fun!  When I'm not busy perfecting my ninja moves, I'm looking for my forever home, one that's ready for adventure, willing to keep me stimulated with puzzle toys and lots of playtime, and patient enough to help me learn and grow.  I'm a smart cookie (or should I say treat?) who thrives on mental and physical stimulation. I'd love a home with a savvy owner who can keep up with my antics, provide plenty of exercise and training, and shower me with love and attention.  I'm good with dogs, cats (as long as they're cool with my sass), people, and bigger kids (8+ as I don't want to accidentally knock over any tiny humans with my enthusiastic play). My fur is a unique tiger shark inspired masterpiece. Don't worry, I won't bite....RAWWRRR! 😬  As for communication, I'm a selective talker. I only bark when it's absolutely necessary, like when my food bowl is empty, my belly needs rubbing, or I'm trying to initiate a game of chase. My barks are basically like tiny text messages: "Feed me NOW," "Pet me, human," or "Let's play, hooman!"  I am medically up-to-date and ready to bring joy and snuggles to my forever home. If you're ready to decode my barks and provide endless play and snacks, I'm your gal!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Hi, I'm Caspian! I'm a ruggedly handsome 1-2 year old neutered male Aussie/collie mix, weighing about 50 lbs. Not to brag or anything, but my coat is as magestic as the sprawling landscapes I love to run through.  I was found as a stray in east TN, but now that I' have experienced the love and care of humans, I'm hooked! I adore people, kids, dogs, and I promise to be a loyal companion and furry friend. I don't know how I'd do with cats as I've never met one, so slow introductions will be important with me.  As a mix of working/herding breeds, I need a home that understands my energy level and need for mental and physical stimulation. I'm built for action, and I thrive on having a job to do. I would love a home that could keep up with me, preferably on hikes, running, and playing a good old fashion game of fetch. I would also love a fenced in yard of my own to get my zoomies out!  I'm medically up to date, crate trained, and housebroken. Man, I sound like the perfect package. Come on, let's start our adventure together. I'm anxiously waiting for you!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Sycamore, a ~2-4 year old neutered male small terrier mix, weighing about 13 lbs! Sycamore was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in east TN along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Teak, etc.). He is currently being fostered in CT with Teak while he waits to find his furever home.  Sycamore is shy/nevous and timid at first. He takes a little time to trust and warm up to new people, but once he trusts you - he's a total snugglebug! He just wants to cuddle and be close to you 🥰 He is looking for someone who will be patient with him and give him a little time and space to come to them on his own terms. Sycamore is good with other dogs, cats, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his nervous/timid nature). Meet Turbo, a SUPER cute ~9 month old neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix, currently weighing about 32 lbs! We don't think he will get too much bigger, he will likely just fill out a bit as he reaches his adult size. Turbo was picked up as a stray by animal control in East TN. We took him into rescue and placed him into a loving foster home, and he has been in his CT foster home for a couple months now waiting to find his furever home! Turbo is a sweet, friendly boy who is full of puppy energy and kisses! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. As a young, energetic herding breed, he would do great in an active home and would make a wonderful running or hiking buddy! He is up for all the adventures and looking for a full time best friend! From Turbo's current foster:  "Turbo is a big kisser! He is full speed - ready to go and play like most puppies. He’s a herding breed and will nose boop you when he’s ready for some fun, but no nipping. He’s looking for an active family that can provide him a fulfilling life and mental stimulation." Turbo is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. **OCTOBER SPECIAL** This dog is eligible for $100 off the listed adoption fee, valid through the end of October! Offer applies to select dogs only, and adoption must be finalized by 10/31/2025 to take advantage of this offer. "Quoth the pup, 'Evermore... playtime, please!'" I'm Poe, a ~14 week old spayed female Aussie mix puppy with a heart full of joy. As part of the Poet Litter, you'd think I'd be raven-obsessed with dark and mysterious verse, but honestly, my poetry is more like "Woof woof, squeaky toys are my heart's desire!" I love everyone I meet, human and furry friend alike, and I'm always up for a good cuddle or play session. But let's be real, I'm still a puppy. I need some guidance and training to become the best version of myself. I'm eager to learn and please, so if you're willing to invest some time in teaching me good manners, I'll be your best student! I'm medically up-to-date (age appropriate) and working on crate training. Potty training is my current 'dark and stormy night' - I'm working on it, but sometimes the accidents are 'dying' to get out! Let's trade in my squeaky toys for a pen and paper, and see what kind of masterpieces we can create together! (just kidding, don't take away the squeaky toys!). Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. My name is Spencer, and my story isn't an easy one. I came from a place where love was scarce, and hope was hard to find. But despite everything I've been through, I've held onto one thing, the desire to be loved. I'm a 5 year old neutered male mixed breed, weighing 24lbs. I'm still learning to trust the world around me. It takes me time to feel safe, and I need patient humans who understand that I'm not like the others. I'm nervous and shy, but once I know you're kind and gentle, I'll let my guard down and show you my heart. I'm good with other dogs, but I need time to unwind and relax around them, just like humans do. I'd thrive in a home with older kids who understand my skittish nature and won't push me beyond what I can handle. As for cats....well, I'm still figuriing those out. I'm medically up to date, and house broken. One thing that's really important to know about me is that crates make me extremely nervous. I'm so scared that I might hurt myself trying to get out, so I'd need a home where I can have freedom and space to move around safely. All I want is to be loved and cherished for who I am. I know I might take a little time to warm up, but I promise I'll reward you with loyalty, snuggles, and a love that's pure and true.  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. Triston is a VERY sweet little guy who is sure to steal your heart! His signature move is rolling around with his belly up and making cute groany noises after meals, as if to express how full and satisfied he is 😋 (see video!). It's the cutest thing ever!  He is medically up to date (age appropriate), crate trained, and working on housebreaking. Meet Nene, a charming and affectionate neutered male mini poodle/shih tzu mix weighing about 20 lbs! This sweet guy is a young 7ish years old and has lots of love to give! He makes himself at home very quickly, is food motivated, and enjoys pats.  Nene is looking for a forever home where he can love and be loved. He is good with people, shy for about 10-15 minutes and then warms up and wants to be your BFF. He is a super snuggle bug and LOVES to cuddle with his people! 🥰 He is a lower energy dog who would be content to spend most of his day curled up on the couch next to you, or under your desk while you work. He's pretty low maintenance and easy going, it really does not take much to make this guy happy!  Nene is good with other dogs after a proper introduction. He will bark at new dogs at first (not aggressive), he just needs a little time to get to know them. He may take a couple days to warm up to other dogs in the household, but after he adjusts he does well with them. He has not been cat tested, but we expect he would likely be fine with dog savvy cats (may bark at them at first like he does with new dogs). He has not been around young kids, but he does well with older kids who know to respect a dog's space.  Nene is medically up to date and housebroken. A really special doggo! Apply to meet this sweet guy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Cypress, a sweet ~4 year old spayed female Yorkie/small terrier mix, weighing about 14 lbs!  Cypress was rescued from a hoarding situation in east TN along with the other Tree pups (Sycamore, Pine, Spruce, etc.). She is shy and timid at first, and she needs a little time to warm up to new people. If you are gentle and patient with her, she will warm up and be your buddy in no time! Once she knows you are safe, she will follow you around and loves to be by your side. Cypress is good with other dogs, not cat tested but we feel she would likely be fine with cats. Due to her small size and timid nature, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. She is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (expect accidents while adjusting to a new environment/rouirne), and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today! Hi, I'm Magnolia! I'm ~5 year year old neutered male doxie/spaniel mix, weighing about 20lbs. Sure, I'm 5, but let's be real, age is just a number, am I right?! My past was a garden of thorns. I was rescued from an overcrowded and overwhelming situation (the humans call it a "hoarding" situation), where love and attention were scarce. But despite the challenges, my spirit has remained unbroken, and I'm now ready to unfurl my petals and find my forever home. All I ask is for a little patience and understanding, as I am still learning how to be a dog, and the world can be a scary place for me. But it is getting less scary every day! I am shy and skittish at first, and I take some time to trust new people and feel safe. If you nurture me with patience and kindness, and let me come to you on my own terms, you'll see that behind my scared exterior is a sweet and gentle soul, who wants so badly to love and be loved. Once I know that you are trustworthy and safe, I will be your faithful companion! I adore other dogs, as they've shown me that friendship and fun can go paw-in-paw. Because of my timid nature, I would feel most comfortable in a home with no kids, or older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space. One thing that would make my tail wag with joy: a fenced in yard where I can play, sniff, and feel safe without worrying about getting loose (I'm still learning about leashes). I am medically up-to-date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (expect some accidents as I get used to a new routine/environment). Will you be my sunshine and help me grow into the best version of myself? Hi, I'm Pine, a ~3 year old spayed female doxie/spaniel mix, weighing about 20lbs! My past wasn't easy, as I was rescued from a crowded and overwhelming environment (the humans call it a "hoarding" situation), where I didn't get the chance to be the beloved pet I was meant to be. But I'm ready to leave that behind and start fresh! I'm a little nervous, and I am shy and skittish when you first meet me. I need time to feel safe, and I hope you can be patient and gentle with me, and let me come to you on my own terms once I'm ready. I haven't had the best experiences with humans in the past, so I am still learning to trust. I want to let my guard down and show you my true, sweet self, but I need to know you're safe first. Deep down, I really just want to love and be loved. I like dogs, they help me to feel safe and more confident. Little kids are scary to me, but I don't mind older kids 8+ who know how to respect a dog's space. I think I would like cats, but maybe a slow introduction would be best for both of us. I wouldn't want to scare my potential feline sister/brother. One thing I'm really looking forward to is having a cozy, fenced-in yard to call my own, somewhere I can sniff, explore, and feel secure without worrying about getting loose (I'm still learning about leashes, as I was never leash trained in my prior life). A quiet backyard would be doggone perfect for me!  I am medically up-to-date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (expect some accidents while I adjust to a new routine/environment).
