I am one of the Fab 5 from a state seizure. I have been through a lot but you wouldn't even know from how gentle and calm I am. I'm happy with short walks, snacks, and attention. I have lived with other animals in a foster, but I was not a huge fan of a lot of things going on with other animals and a lot of things going on - I'm happy to just exist contently with my people. Nice to meet you, I’m Star! Buckle in, because I have quite the tale for you on how I ended up here. Unfortunately I was separated from my kittens before I should have been, so I was extremely stressed, full of milk, and sad when I was dropped of here at the SPCA-HC. Reuniting with my kittens was not a possibility, no matter how much everyone tried. I’m not a mean cat, but I was quick to lash out at humans after what had happened to me. I wasn’t interested in interacting or socializing, but that all changed when the shelter received four day-old kittens that had lost their mother and were in need of one. Did you know that a kittens chances of survival increase by 50% when they have a mother cat to take care of them? I was more than happy to accept these babies as my own, and I successfully raised healthy, happy kittens that found homes when they were ready. I transformed after I was given the chance to save the kittens. I finally understood that the folks at the shelter were there to help, and that not all humans were like the ones I had known. They helped to heal my broken heart and, while still a little shy, I will play, accept rubs, and follow people around while they are visiting the shelter! When I first came to the shelter, I was extremely underweight and infested with fleas. Now I’ve gained some healthy pounds and have received lots of care from some really nice vets. I can’t wait to have a home of my very own where I will know nothing but love and comfort! show less

Once she's had a minute to warm up, she’s a pro at cuddles and always ready to curl up in a warm spot.
