Albania and Emelia have been a bit stressed out from their transition to the shelter, and though they are bonded, may sometimes act out at each other when they’re a bit stressed. Sisters! However, after a couple days, they’ve settled in nicely and are back to their loving adorable selves. They spend most of the day smushed into the same bed together and it’s hard to tell where one cat ends and the other begins! They also like to groom each other. “We're another set of Oreo cat twins! We’re nice and friendly, but we’re also very spunky girls, as you can judge from our photos. We have a lot of energy and love exploring and playing! You can tell us apart by our markings, though. Albania has the goatee, and Emelia has the mustache. We're still a little jumpy from being surrendered to the SPCA, though we like when we get plenty of space to ourselves and playtime. Our old owners were really sorry to say goodbye to us but didn’t have a choice, and we’re glad they brought us to the shelter where we would be safe and find new loving homes. We've been together all our lives; we're sisters and don't know what we would do without one another. According to our former owner, we're good with small dogs, but we don't really like other cats or kids. We're a little fussy, but that's okay because we're cute, right? This is the part where you say RIGHT.” show less

Friday DSH, Tortie Female, 1 year old Arrival Date: 3/13/20 *Not available for adoption at this time, as she needs to be spayed this May* “Wow, I sure had a lot of babies! When I arrived as a stray at the shelter, I looked like I was going to pop. Shortly after going into a foster home with my fellow mom cat, Selene, I went into active labor and had six beautiful babies. Most if not all of those kittens already have adoptions pending - get on the kitten wish list, people! - but I’m a pretty sweet catch too. I’m a really good mom and have done my best for my babies, even when my milk has run dry in a few of my nipples and I needed some help from Selene to nurse my babies. I’ve been great with the dogs in the house and am just as friendly as can be! Now that I'm in heat again, I'm returning to the shelter to get spayed, maybe even find a foster-to-adopt home too!” Friday is one of the many mother cats we’ll be saving this kitten season. If you want to help contribute to the cost of her care and the cost of spaying and neutering so many new cats, please consider donating to the March of the Mamas fund and sharing her post! fundly.com/march-of-the-mamas-spay-neuter-fund If you would like to know more about Friday, please feel free to get in touch with us through Petfinder or by calling us at 667-8088 from 11 am to 5 pm. PLEASE NOTE: During our adoption process, we will do a vet check on your current pets or previous pets from the past 10 years to make sure they've been up-to-date with rabies shots (required by law for dogs and cats) and vaccines. We also will do a check with your landlord if you rent. show less

Special qualities: I'm still very new and frightened, so come back for updates as I reveal more about my real personality! “I just arrived here with my sister, Blossom. I'm very scared and shocked at not being home anymore, so I'm not quite acting like myself. Right now, my instinct is to run away and find a way back to what I knew, not be in this strange place! But I eventually adapt, and that's when my bio can be updated with more accurate information about me. Until then, I just need a lot of reassurance, patience, and love! I may also need a Westley to help me. Who knows!€ Can't adopt Buttercup but want to support her? You can now sponsor her through Petfinder! Please click the sponsor link above and follow the instructions. If you want to do even more, you can consider sponsoring a kennel for a year.
