It’s easy to fall for Foxy’s sweet face, but we ask that you read his full needs first before applying. After everything he’s been through, this sweet angel has some specific needs. Foxy is a gentle, sensitive dog who came to us from a difficult past. He has lived with many other dogs before, but very little of his life was spent around humans. Because of that, he is still learning what it means to trust people and how to feel safe in a home. Much of his time spent at the SPCA-HC has been learning about leashed walking, the outdoors, and recognizing humans as friends. Foxy absolutely shines when he has a canine friend by his side. Other dogs are his comfort, his guides, and his role models. For this reason, Foxy must go to a home with at least one confident, friendly dog. A canine companion is what will help him continue building confidence and discovering that life with people can be full of kindness, comfort, and fun. Since arriving at the shelter, Foxy has already made incredible progress. He is discovering the joy of treats, starting to explore his surroundings with curiosity, and learning that gentle voices and patient hands are nothing to fear. With time, he will continue to grow into the amazing companion we know he can be. Foxy needs a family who understands that his journey will not be overnight. He will need patience, love, and consistency. But with the right dog by his side and a family willing to cheer him on, he has every chance to blossom. Do you have a confident dog who could be Foxy’s best teacher and friend? If so, you might be the perfect match. Submit an adoption application to get the process started. Once approved, we can schedule meet and greets. Apply here: spcahancockcounty.org/adopt
