What is a home? All I've ever known is shelter life and the comings and goings of humans. I'm so glad to have my sister, Lore, with me through it all...we both are really confused by all of the chaos and noise. I’m looking for someone who can put up with my quietness, even if it leads to long awkward pauses where neither of us knows what to say. Don't push me out of my comfort zone. I move at a snail's pace as far as trusting others and I need you to be okay with that. I also need you to be okay with snacks. Snacks are like..the best. DSH, Lynx point Siamese tabby mix Male, 10 years old "Bullying is serious business, kids. See, I was a bully to other cats in my home, and after so much of it, it got to the point where I ended up here. Don't be a bully. I'm a really timid guy right now, not so sure I want to warm up to this shelter place. I'm getting older, so I'm not so convinced I was in the wrong either; you tell me those other cats aren't annoying! But I am trying to learn from my mistakes. I'm now able to hang out in a community room with other cats that mind their own business and don't seem threatening to me. I like high places like shelves where I can feel safe and secure. My confidence was maybe always shaky and that's why I turned to bullying, so I'm at a pretty big low right now. Despite how I'm terrified and timid, I wanted to let the photographer know I wasn't a threat so I did a lot of slow blinks at the camera one day, especially when she did it back. I just need someone calm, quiet, and patient to take their time with me and help me build up some self-esteem so I don't have to take it out in unhealthy ways on others. Do you think you could help me? I promise, I'm not really a bad boy, I'm just scared." show less

I'm one of the three feral kittens at the shelter currently. Besides me, there are my sisters, Joan and Billie. We are likely third or more generation feral cats, so it's not likely we will become more socialized. Cats that are as tense as me, even at this age, won't be suited for life as an indoor house cat, but I would make a great outdoor barn or farm cat and hunt all the mice for you. Because I'm so little still, I would need to be kept in my shed or barn for a few months during the first winter (that will also help me associate the shelter as my new home) but then I'll be ready for a life of mousing with my sisters. Ideally, the three of us would love to go together but at minimum, barn cats like us need to go in pairs so we can continue to help socialize each other and keep each other company. show less
