Behemoth is a BIG, sweet, scared boy. He is getting neutered on 2/8/21 and will be ready to go home soon after. We don't know how he would do with any other animals currently. Based on how he's been with us so far, we think he would prefer a calm home with no other pets where he can sit quietly in your lap. With the right person, he's a perfect lap cat. show less

Francine is a spunky girl with a voracious appetite and a lot to say. She's pretty vocal and loves attention, but she's not too keen on being picked up. She loves being pet on her head though, and she sometimes makes cute little "sigh" noises. She might follow you around meowing to try and get food. We only let her have dry food in small portions with a slow feed bowl to make sure she doesn't eat too quickly and get sick. We think she'd eat the whole shelter if she could! Francine wasn't spayed when she came to us, and it turned out she had pyometra. Our animal care manager noticed it almost seemed like Francine had a mass or large lump in her belly, but it was her uterus. Pyometra is an infection of the uterus which, if left untreated, can be fatal. She received an immediate antibiotic injection and was scheduled for a spay as soon as possible. Spay surgeries for pyometra usually cost a little more and are more invasive than a standard spay surgery because the uterus is enlarged. Francine has healed well so far from her surgery but did have a larger than usual incision/scar. It's been over a week now, and she's ready to come home with you where she can eat even more snacks! JJ is available for pre-adoption only as he still needs to be neutered! Hi my name is JJ! I'm a sweet boy who is a little shy. When I first got to the shelter, I was a little beaten up from some cats that didn't like me. This made me feel really sick and my wounds were infected. The nice humans here gave me medication and so much love and I feel a lot better! Because I was sick, I had to wait for my neuter but I'm finally healthy enough to go now. Once I recover from that, I would love to find a quiet home with some kind humans, maybe other cats who would be nice to me, and a window seat so I can lay in the sun. I'm nervous at first but I do love to be held and pet. I also love giving head boops to nice humans. Do you have a place in your home for a quiet guy like me? show less

Twinkle is a sweet little girl with gorgeous blue eyes. She loves catnip and toys and she's happy being held and pet. She's just about as good as they get, folks! She's been around one (calmer) dog and did wonderfully, but we aren't sure how she will do with cats. With a proper, slow introduction, she should be fine in most households. We think she'd be gentle enough to be around kids of any age. She's also energetic enough to be entertaining and confident, but not TOO energetic or boisterous. Interested in some friendly black cats? You're in luck because me and my sister Nell are the epitome of lap cats! We love getting pet and just getting attention in general. I'm a bit more confident than my sister and I'll walk right up and rub on your legs and demand some attention. Nell prefers you do all the work and go up to her for love. We're 8 years old but we still play like kittens. Give me a few toys and some catnip and you'll have hours of entertainment! My sister and I like other cats too! We're pretty chill cats ourselves so I think we would be fine with a dog in the home as long as they were cat savvy. We've been indoors our entire lives so we prefer to stay that way. My sister may possibly have an eye condition that requires surgery but the humans have reassured her that it's simple and quick. She's on treatment currently and we'll find out if surgery is needed in a couple weeks. You can still fill out an application on us though! We would love to find a home of our own and some humans to love. And I heard the SPCA humans say that people interested in us can call for more information about Nell's eyes. show less

Hello there! Why take home one cat when you can take home two?! My brother Coco and I are a package deal, but it's a fantastic deal for you! We're both affectionate and friendly cats. We're 8 years old which means we're a great combination of playful and sleepy. We're happy with a toy and some catnip or a nice warm nap on our person's lap. We're not picky about what foods we eat and we're both excellent about using our litter box. At the moment, I have an eye condition called entropion. My eyes are watery a lot but the humans give me eye ointment and that helps me feels better. I was told that I may need surgery but I don't mind since I'll feel better afterwards. Hi! My name is Onyx and while I am a super shy cat, I am also super sweet once I get to know you. My sister, Raven, is the outgoing one, whereas I like to sit back and observe quietly first. I also am very athletic! I can climb just about anything, love playing with my sister Raven, and even love running on the cat-sized hampster wheel here at the SPCA. Because my confidence totally depends on my sister being nearby, we need to be adopted as a pair - but that just means more love and fun for you! I am more easily spooked than my sister and may not do well with rambunctious kids running around since I have a history of bad anxiety. I used to be so anxious, I was plucking out all of my fur! I had naked little chicken legs when I arrived at the shelter after my sister came here first. I missed her so badly! I still take once-daily anti-anxiety medication that really helps me calm down and not make myself a nakey little boy. That's something I'll need my future family to continue to administer to me. And although I don't run up for love like my sister, I do like people and really appreciate being given time to get to know you. Once we're friends, I like sitting by you and being petted but I maintain my independence and don't want to be a lap cat at this point. What I do love, besides my sister, are toys! I'm very particular about toys and know exactly which ones I want to play with, so seeing me find my favorite toys and playing with them is a real treat for the shelter staff! PS - We both were diagnosed with a genetic issue called megacolon when we were kittens. However, we recently learned that Raven was misdiagnosed and actually has intestinaly dysbiosis. My symptoms have been mostly controlled by medication, but the shelter thinks I may need to be re-evaluted to see if I was misdiagnosed as well. While we're not QUITE ready to be adopted yet because we've got these health questions lingering, we are both SUPER ready to know when we will go home in the future! HI! My name is Raven and I am a SUPER smart cat who can open up pretty much any locked door in the shelter... or cabinet... or bin of cat treats... or anything I feel like sticking my head into! As a result, I make the humans here laugh all the time. I'm kinda the shelter clown. But don't let that deter you - the humans here have unfortunately figured out how to "Raven-proof" the place, so, it's possible to outsmart me, I guess. I am also super atheletic and absolutely love running on my cat-sized hampster wheel; check out my video! I also am totally bonded to my brother Onyx. He might be a bit shy, but I think he is the best brother. In addition to being a bit of a character, I also absolutely LOVE human affection - give me pets, and give them to me ALL the time. Stella is a sweet and mellow cat with gorgeous long fur and a BEAUTIFUL purr! She sounds a bit like a chirping bird when she purrs, it's very unique. She likes human attention, being pet, and napping. She Stella first came to us last spring with her two brothers Odin and Oliver. All three were adopted but Stella was having issues in her new home; they had a wood stove which was causing some chronic upper respiratory and or allergy issues. While Stella will likely have off and on sneezing/cold symptoms for the remainder of her life (once a cat is exposed to an upper respiratory-causing virus it tends to live dormant in their system for the rest of their lives - most cats rarely get sick from it, but some have recurring "flare ups"), we think she needs a home without a wood stove and better air quality. She's currently finishing up some medication to knock out her current bout of sneezing, but she'll be ready very soon to go into what we hope is her third and final home. Stella is on the heavy side, so we recommend that she stick to a wet food only diet and not be allowed to "free feed" on dry food so that she looses some weight and stays at a healthy weight. Stella would be great in a home with or without other cats. She'd be fine with kids as well. show less

The sweetest old boy you'll ever meet! Gary is a handsome tabby who loves his food! When he escapes his executive suite in the staff kitchen and makes his way to the cat kitchen, you'll always find him trying to stick his head into a bag of food. Pick up some crunchies in your hand and he would follow you to the ends of the earth. He's also a big fan of wet food and becomes quite a talker when he hears that can opening. Gary might be a senior but he has an active and quirky personality that will keep you laughing for years. He's a healthy boy but due to his love for food, he'll need a feeding schedule as he seems to make himself sick if he eats too much, which he always will if given the chance. If he's not looking for food, then Gary's favorite place is on the lap of a human willing to brush him and give him head scratches. He loves people so much that he reaches up for your hand when you walk by him. Gary likes other cats and he doesn't seem to mind dogs either! He's an easy going guy and he would bring so much love and laughter into your home! Talk about the perfect cat, right? Gary is UTD on vaccines, neutered, FIV/FeLV negative, and he has a clean bill of health from his doctor (including lab work!). show less

My name is Rajah, like the big tiger from Aladdin! Sassy? No, it's called Cattitude. I've got a big personality but I still deserve a home I can call my own. I get bored and when I get bored, I get anxious and then I just get frustrated. Cats show frustration and anxiety differently than people and they end up thinking we're just being aggressive. If I found a quiet home with no other animals and a person who can play with me or give me things to keep my brain stimulated and occupied, I bet I could be a really great companion for someone.
