Oh gosh, a scary human! I'm quite shy, you see, and it can be hard to meet me, but I am a gorgeous girl when you do see me. I have beautiful double paws, a bushy tail, and bright eyes. I would LOVE to go to a home where I can be with another cat, especially a cat that is calm or docile - I really absorb those good vibes, you know. I tend to have a lot of anxiety but being around cats that are happy and content and having a fun place to hang out, like the green room or catio, has helped me calm down and relax at the shelter. Oh boy oh boy, a new friend to take me outside! My name is Mei Mei, and I am a bouncy, plucky girl who can't wait to go on adventures with someone amazing. By the way, I think everyone is pretty darn amazing. I have had a rough start to my life, but I've always maintained a sunny disposition, and so although I need a lot of further training to help me learn manners and understand I am, in fact, not tiny puppy-sized and can plow people over, I am a total sweetheart. I literally spent the drive to the shelter with my head resting against the head of the driver. I alternate between running around, sniffing and exploring the world, to snuggle-time and loads of kisses. Some people say I am "a lot", and I think that means they feel I have a lot of love to give, and I agree with that! I also love things a lot. I love my food a lot, I love going outside a lot, and I love people a lot. I can get OVER-excited when meeting new dogs and animals, so I am going to need someone with patience to help me learn calm introductions before I overwhelm other animals. Likewise, my exuberance might be too much for a small child or someone frail. I did arrive at the shelter with some skin irritation, which could be caused by food or environmental allergies. At the moment, they're trying to feed me a special diet to see if I feel better on that. If I do, then I will need to continue to eat a special, hypoallergenic diet. At least I think it's yummy, but that might be discouraging for someone on a budget. I have a lot to learn, but I would love to find the right person to learn it from.
