Hi there, you may call me Princess Grace, or Grace for short. My friends may call me Gracie. I am reserved but not afraid of people - in fact, it may make my day if you take the time to give me attention. I'm okay with some time alone at home so I can nap while my person is away. I've also lived with other cats for most of my life and I really don't mind them as long as they don't antagonize me - I have no interest in playing because I'm too mature for that. My petite size and quiet nature has left me overlooked when visitors come by - they just don't know what a gem I really am. I was surrendered due to my medical issues, including peeing outside the litterbox and now I have received veterinary care where they discovered I am in the beginning stages of kidney failure, which can be managed with diet and veterinary care as needed. The sound of special food may scare you off, but I promise I am so worth a little extra care! Also my litterbox issues have been a thing of the past since coming to the shelter, but they believe in "full disclosure" - how rude! I would be happiest with someone who is quiet and gentle and takes a little extra time to get to know me. I love having my cheeks and chin rubbed, and I adore being kissed on the top of my head by my friends. In fact, I even like just that kissy sound you humans make sometimes. I have been so sad since coming to the shelter, and nothing would make me happier than finding a wonderful new family to go home with! show less

Before coming to the shelter, Java and her daughter, Mocha, had likely never been outside the home they grew up in before, including having never been to a vet. With their world having been so small, Java has been (understandably) easily overwhelmed by all the new places and people and things she's getting to experience now. However, with a good dose of patience and compassion, the girls have both started to come out of their shells and express their individual personalities and characteristics. Java is largely enjoying her new-found independence- though she was very acustomed to her daughter's presence, it's likely she's had multiple litters before and at this point her life, mama could use a break. That said, we do know Java has been ok with other small dogs before, and would likely be fine with respectful cats. Because Java startles a bit easily, it would be best if any children in her future home were at least 12 years of age just to ensure everyone's on the same page as far as giving Java her space goes. This girl has shown us she enjoys her stuffed toys very much, is food motivated, and has a fierce personality if you give her the chance! Now that Java is spayed and has recieved all necessary veterinary treatments, she's ready to get the heck out of the shelter with her new forever-person. Could that be you? show less

Rocko is a sweet perfect angel baby boy who due to uncontrollable circumstances is now in search of a new home. He has been loved and cared for deeply his entire life and his personality shows it, as he is eager to warmly greet almost anyone he meets with a big smile on his face and tail wagging. Rocko has been child-tested and approved with all age ranges, and grew up with a cat whom he did fine with, though he apparently could get grumbly when the cat neared his food bowl. He may come on too strong for some cats, and can be tempted to play-chase them when they run by him quickly, but from what we can tell Rocko has never shown any true malice to cats before, so he could likely do alright with a dog-savvy cat who isn't afraid to stand up for themself. Rocko has also done well with dogs smaller than him (he is 60lbs) and seems to do best when the other dog is relativley passive or submissive with him. Dogs larger than him however can feel a little threatening though, so to avoid any uncessecary stress he'd like to be in a home without any bigger guys. Though Rocko deals with some of the expected health dilemmas that come along with his "senior" label (some mild joint pain at times if he chunks up too much, taking a little extra time to sit up or lay down, and needing to empty his bladder more frequently than he used to) these symptoms do not deter him and he is overall quite spry for his age! He still shows great strength and would likely do best with a harness when on walks as he is very eager to go. On the note of walks, while he does fine when contained by a fence, in non-fenced in areas it is in Rocko's best interest to stay on-leash as he does have an independant streak and does not always care to come when called. All-in-all, Rocko is a mellow sweetheart who would love nothing more than to live out the rest of his days with some leisurely daily activity  and both receiving and providing loving companionship with someone who thinks he's just as cool as we do!  show less
