I may have been found as a stray, but let's get one thing straight: I am a LADY. Royalty, even. Not some riff-raff or streetrat but a bonified diamond in the rough. Because I know how special I am, I can be quite the character. Sometimes, I am sweet and loving, and other times, I will knock your block off with one of my dainty claws. More proof I am a queen is that I do not like sharing things with other animals. Although I can kind of coexist with other cats and dogs if I have enough space, I tend to want to bully them and be the top cat. I would be happiest as a single child, honestly! I do have some food allergies I should probably let you know about. See, if I eat food I'm allergic to, I get really itchy. My face was SUPER itchy when I first came to the shelter, and my skin was flaky. Now that I'm eating a prescription diet, I feel much better and my coat is getting glossy and I don't feel like I need to tear at my face. It might be a good idea to eventually get me to an allergist, if my future family should live close enough to one for cats, but also the Z/D is easily prescribed by most local vets and has been working well for me. I may sound like a lot to handle, but the truth is, I just know what I like, and I can be a total sweetheart when the right person comes along and listens to what I'm trying to communicate to them. I may not be the best cat for a first-time cat owner, but for someone with experience with cats or who wants to make a difference in the life of a cat that really needs to be rescued, I would be a great fit. I would also be purrfect for that couple that wants a fur baby to spoil. You may have guessed by the way I'm cringing in this terrible picture of me (thanks, photographer), but I am a very scared boy. Some people call me "feral" but I'm not actually feral. I'm what you might call an unsocialized cat. I've been on my own for a bit as a stray - I'm likely between 3 and 6 years old - and need time to learn how to trust humans. But I am capable of trust, and there are times I can relax when with humans, which is why I'm not a feral cat. I just need a really patient and kind home, preferably one with other cats for me to blend in with, and without a lot of noise or activity. If you think you can give me some extra space and time, please come by and meet me at the shelter! I may not seem like I want to meet you, but you might be surprised by my glow-up when I learn to trust you if you take a chance on me! show less

Please don't come on too strong - I know, I know, I'm very cute and handsome, but I am still quite the shy kitty so I don't really appreciate it when someone rushes over to my face and tries to touch me. I prefer to take it easy and slow with humans since I'm still, quite honestly, terrified of you things. I do, however, LOVE food. In fact, food was how some nice people were able to catch me when they saw me as a stray hanging around their home near a busy street. I can't resist crunchies or wet food. So that's a good way to win over my heart and build a rapport with me, just feed me a lot! But maybe not so much that I ruin my figure ... I also love other cats. I get along great with everyone in the community cat room the shelter calls "the Green Room". One of my best friends is named Sally, another shy cat, and honestly, we would love it if we could be adopted together but we would also be happy if we can just go to homes with other cats. So if you have a quiet home, a lot of patience, and loads of treats, please come by and meet me! show less

I'm an itty-bitty peanut of a kitty! Sort of like a permanent kitten because I'm so tiny! I was found as a stray and brought to the SPCA, where they helped me feel much better and put on a little weight, and also got me "spayed" which means I can't have any kittens - seems like a good idea since I'm barely bigger than a kitten myself! I am a shy girl but extremely sweet, so I would love to be the companion to someone that is quiet and patient, maybe someone who just needs a little extra support like I do to come out of their shell. I enjoy the company of other cats but am not dependent on being with them. Overall, I'm in good health, I just need a family that would be kind and gentle with me. Might that be you? show less

Yes, I'm a big orange cat named Garfield. No, the humans here are not very creative, are they? But they're kind of growing on me, slowly. See, I was caught as a stray during a trap-neuter-release but the shelter thought I had potential to come around to humans and be a house kitty eventually, so I am hanging out with other kitties in the Green Community Cat Room at the SPCA until I meet the right family. I am VERY SHY but i like other cats, especially mellow ones or other ones that have grown up around cats. I can get spooked easily - okay, so I'm a scaredy-cat - so I really don't do well with sudden movements. Because of that, I do not want to live with young children. I would do best in a home that gives me plenty of space and time to come around on my own terms and that has plenty of perches for me to hang out and sun myself on. Also, I would love to be adopted with one of my Green Room friends, like Smarties, Sally, or Baskin, if you don't already have a cat at home. The other cats I hang out with are showing me that people just want to love me! I’m not necessarily shy, but I don’t really look for attention. The green eggs to my...ham. You're still reading so I must have caught your attention. I'm good at that. Let me show you what I'm all about. Stop on by and ask for Pam! You might wonder, how is a cute kitten like me still at the shelter? How come you haven't seen more of me? Well, I have been on a course of antibiotics becase I was sick for several weeks. By now, it's become clear to my vet and to the staff here that I have chronic issues with upper respiratory infections - this is called feline herpes. It's important that if you have other cats and that you are interested in adopting me that they are FULLY vaccinated against feline herpes. If you're not sure if they are, ask your vet, please! Otherwise, I am an adorable only kitty who would make the most loving companion to a person that doesn't mind helping me through my recurrent sniffles. show less
