Hello, I'm a sweet and affectionate lady who wants a home where I can live calmly and peacefully with the people and maybe a mature cat can coexist in peace. I have had a rough start, my owner passed away and I ended up living with their remaining family. SAdly, this family had multiple cats and dogs, and it super overwhelmed me. They wanted me to have a happier life so they brought me here. When I got here the shelter staff noticed i had raw spots on my belly! Turns out, I have bad food sensitivities and need a special diet (but that's all it'll take to keep it away) I do know that a calm cat could be a nice companion, but I'd prefer no dogs or children because I just want to relax on a couch or by a window with my people. Although she is still quite shy with people, her foster family said she was friendly in their home and should not be returned to the cat colony. Mittens adores other cats and has become friends with care staff members. While she remains standoffish with most people, she tolerates petting by staff she knows well. We believe she will become a sweet companion once she learns her family’s routines and gains confidence. Mittens is fixed. Once her vaccinations are updated, she will be ready to adopt.
