Odin DSH, Black Male, 8 years old Special qualities: bonded to brother Oliver, must be adopted together! “Oh gosh, things sure have been scary lately. Just so many changes for us, but at least we have each other. We’re still pretty shaken up from coming to the shelter so our true personalities will take time to come out, but despite how moving around and ending up in a shelter is usually very scary, we’re nice boys. We like nice, gentle people who let us sniff their hands and then reach in and pet us. We might get more rowdy when we’re comfortable, but that will be saved for an update, we suppose! "But with time, patience, and really nice humans, we've come out of our shells at the shelter. Odin isn't so much of a nakey old man now that he isn't pulling out all his fur, and Oliver isn't always terrified of everyone and everything! We're still plenty young and spry, even though we technically are senior cats. Just watch Odin play with toys and see what we mean! Plus we like other cats. We just would love a nice, quiet home that is patient with letting us take our time and adjust, and then we can just relax and learn to be old man-cats. We have a lot of time to do that, we just need someone special to do it with." Can't adopt Odin and Oliver but want to support them? You can always make a donation toward their care! If you want to do even more, you can consider sponsoring a kennel for a year. These options and more are available at our website, spcahancockcounty.org/donate If you would like to know more about Odin and Oliver, please feel free to get in touch with us through email or by calling us at 667-8088 from 11 am to 5 pm. PLEASE NOTE: During our adoption process, we will do a vet check on your current pets or previous pets from the past 10 years to make sure they've been up-to-date with rabies shots (required by law for dogs and cats) and vaccines. We also will do a check with your landlord if you rent. show less

4 years old Medium, 60-65 pounds Brindle pittie/Shar Pei mix *NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION YET. However, you can still apply or ask questions about him. :)* "I tested positive for Lyme's recently, so my dog handlers are curious how much of my real personality will come out when I'm feeling better. Right now, I may not be acting quite like my normal self. I seem a little bit cautious about meeting people, but I'm still friendly and sweet. I've been a good boy on my leash and about taking baths, which I need because boy do I itch! Hopefully, when I feel better, I'll have lots more to tell you!" Una will be neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines by the time he's ready for adoption! According to his foster family, Una has been a regular old couch potato! While he may have been surrendered because he bit a child (without drawing any blood and the incident was not witnessed so we don't know how provoked it was), he's clearly a good-natured boy. If you have children and are considering to adopt Una, we recommend him to households with kids 8 years old and up, just to avoid a repeat of the bite incident that brought him here, however it may have happened. Una does show some aggression toward other male dogs, which is unfortunately normal when a dog remains intact. He may shed this aggression once he is neutered but because he is grown, he may be reluctant to accept male dogs. Because of this, we recommend him to households with female dogs or without dogs. He has itchy skin and requires medicated baths every week at this point to get relief. He seems to be fine with cats. He generally does not show a high prey-drive, as his fosters report he was content to sit on a couch while a squirrel ran by the window. Can't adopt Una but want to help him out? Try sponsoring him on Petfinder! Please click the sponsor link above and follow the instructions. If you want to do even more, you can consider sponsoring a kennel for a year.
