Hello there, my name is Deet. My sister, Hup, and (a bonded pair) I have been in the shelter since July. We are the daughters of a stray black cat and a loose neighborhood siamese. Although you may not be able to tell right away, my spunky, no-nonsense personality and my long and lean body type may give away some of my genetics. Because we were born outside, we didn't get as much socialization as most other kittens, meaning that trusting humans comes hard for us. I love to play! My kitten spirit will never be quenched by hectic shelter life! My favorite toys are little fuzzy mice and jingle balls. Hup and I are SUPER food motivated! we love anything from basic meals to treat tube snacks even crunchy teeth-cleaning treats! We love it all! I'll let you in on a little secret, if you really want to be our buddy, to hear us purr, and to earn our trust definitely bring some snacks! We may not be down for much petting at first, but with a little time and a whole lotta snacks, we may accept you as our friend. Hup and I would love a home with other cats, you see, they show us that you humans aren't all that bad! they teach us that pets and attention from the big bald monsters aren't something to be afraid of. Just Hup and I in a home would be ok too though, as long as you commit to the both of us because we are a bonded pair and have to be adopted together. We definitely will need a lot of patience, but if you want to rescue two big kittens in need, me and my sister, Hup, may be perfect for you! show less

Hey there, My name is Hup. If you have seen the Dark Crystal series, you may be able to guess my personality. I was named after a Podling, the most scared species around, but with the help of my friend Deet, I had the courage to go on! That is a lot like life at the shelter, this is such a scary place, plagued with loud noises and strange smells, it's nice to have my sister Deet at my side! We are part domestic short-hair and part Siamese. Our mom was a stray, being fed by a good samaritan, and our father was an outdoor siamese owned by a neighbor. Although I don't show much of my siamese genes in color or attitude, Deet does in her personality and body type. We have been at the shelter since July, and have just been able to find our way into a community room full of other cats! These cats help show us that humans aren't so scary... or maybe just not the adults. I love to rest in my cat tree, I tend to find my spot on the bottom or in the house portion. Deet and I also really love snacks! If you ever want to win us over, snacks are definitely the way to go! Treats make me so happy, I can't help but start purring! The humans that take care of us think that's super cute, do you? It may take us a bit longer to learn to trust someone new, but that doesn't mean we don't deserve a home right? Deet and I need to be adopted together, we are a bonded pair, but we would absolutely love to go into a multi-cat home! show less

We sit together for long periods of time and I'm starting to discover what trust is. I guess she's okay. I wish other people would be as patient as her so then they could get to know the real me.
